"Hmm."
Park Cheon-ho decided to accept the glowing letters filling his vision for now.
Unlike him, however, Lucille carefully removed the hands covering her eyes and spoke in a cautious tone.
"Don't be too disappointed. Even heroes who start at 2-star or 3-star ratings don't have any special skills at the beginning, from what I've heard."
It seemed she couldn't see his status window.
'Then why cover her eyes?'
The question crossed his mind briefly, but she was cute, so he decided not to worry about it.
Park Cheon-ho asked,
"Are all levels fixed at 1?"
"That's how it starts, but if your actual skill level is higher, it should adjust quickly. Do you have any skills, by any chance?"
Lucille asked with sparkling eyes. Her face suggested she'd praise him lavishly even for the smallest skill.
"Just a little."
He answered vaguely and asked more about the status window.
"Are there no specific stat numbers?"
"No, it's not perfectly quantified. Still, when your level rises, your overall physical abilities and mana increase. Gaining abilities like Toughness or Agility boosts those specific physical traits even more."
"I see."
This was enough for now.
Park Cheon-ho closed his eyes briefly and took a deep breath.
He didn't need to recall his father's words. He'd simulated situations like this before.
What he needed now was information.
Geographical information, to be precise.
"Um..."
"Call me Lucille."
"Got it. Then call me Cheon-ho."
"Yes, Cheon-ho-nim."
"Hm. So, Lucille, is this place safe right now?"
"Yes?"
"Are we inside the Great Labyrinth? Or outside? You said you escaped from headquarters—how far is it? No enemies nearby?"
"W-Wait a moment."
Lucille caught her breath from the barrage of questions, swallowed dryly, and then replied.
"We're inside the Great Labyrinth right now. To be more precise, headquarters was outside, but the situation was so urgent we had to escape inside. I don't know exactly where in the Great Labyrinth, but it's definitely the 1st floor area."
"Enemies nearby?"
"None right around here, but if we go a bit further in, there will be."
"Nearby meaning?"
"Um... within 50... no, 30 meters or so?"
It was a vague answer, but it seemed no enemies would attack their current spot immediately.
Park Cheon-ho looked around again.
Inside the labyrinth.
A place with stone ceiling, walls, and floor.
No way to procure drinking water or food here, naturally.
Which meant they couldn't stay long-term.
"If we go further in, do other areas open up? What was your plan after summoning a hero?"
"Um... I planned to go deeper into the Great Labyrinth together. Senior angels have already summoned heroes who are conquering it. If we go down a few floors, we'll reach places where people from our world live. So... something like this."
Lucille squatted in place and began drawing on the floor with a chalk-like object she pulled from thin air.
'A dungeon with multiple starting points, huh.'
Looking at the rough labyrinth map Lucille sketched, he got the general idea.
As expected from the Labyrinth World, even within a single floor of the Great Labyrinth, there were numerous zones.
Certain floors had massive zones connecting the entire level, likely where the native inhabitants of the Labyrinth World lived.
'We need to head down first.'
Securing water and food was the priority.
Park Cheon-ho turned back to Lucille and asked,
"Lucille, do you have any special abilities? Tell me what you can do."
She was an angel, after all, so she must have something.
At his question, Lucille nodded vigorously, clenched her fists, and declared,
"I can use purification magic. It removes poison or harmful energies."
"And?"
"Um... healing magic. Recovery magic."
"And?"
"I-Inventory!"
"Inventory?"
"Yes, spatial storage magic. I can store tons of items in my personal space."
When Lucille reached into the air with a bright response, a round hole about the size of a person's head appeared, apparently for putting things inside.
"Capacity?"
"Um... about 10 meters wide and deep? Height too."
"Can people fit?"
"Ah, no. Nothing living can go in."
"Hm."
Park Cheon-ho nodded.
And thought to himself,
'That's impressive.'
Purification magic, healing magic, and inventory. The status window too—it all felt so game-like and intriguing.
But Park Cheon-ho feigned calm. Looking at Lucille, he said,
"So no combat abilities, then."
"B-But I'll do my best! If it comes to it, I'll throw myself in harm's way to protect you, Cheon-ho-nim!"
"Your heart's in the right place. That's enough."
He averted his gaze with effort, took a deep breath, and continued,
"Do you have info on enemies we might encounter on the 1st floor?"
"Yes, I've memorized almost all of it!"
Lucille clenched her fists again as she replied.
Park Cheon-ho suppressed the urge to do the same and stood up.
"Understood. We'll go over the info gradually. For now, we should prepare to move."
With that, Park Cheon-ho walked toward the table. He set the ramen cup container and cup on the floor, then carefully flipped the table over.
"Cheon-ho-nim?"
Instead of answering, Park Cheon-ho manipulated the device on the underside of the table while thinking,
'Good thing the table came with me.'
The best would have been the wardrobe, but this beat coming with just the shoe rack.
He worked his fingers nimbly. With a click, the lock released, and the table's underside opened automatically.
Revealing what was hidden inside.
"Wh-What are all these?"
Lucille asked, eyes wide.
Looking at her stunned yet pretty face, Park Cheon-ho recalled his father's words.
'Son, the prepared man captures the beauty—no, the demon king.'
Father was always right.
Always keep necessities nearby since you never know when you'll be summoned—that was his advice.
Park Cheon-ho pulled out one of the many items hidden in the table—a throwing knife—and said,
"Weapons."
