Want Food? Exchange It for Something Valuable!
“But where did the zombies he killed go? How did they just vanish?” The tall girl stared puzzled at Xiao Yi's figure, her smooth forehead creasing slightly.
As the two discussed, Xiao Yi had already vanished from their sight.
This was the side window of the dorm, so they couldn't see the front door at all.
Feeling a mix of anxiety and hope, the pair sat back on the bed, praying tensely that the brave guy would charge up and rescue them!
“He's definitely our white knight! No—our Monkey King! Riding in on rainbow clouds to save us!”
“He's so badass, he's gotta come charging up here!”
Just as the two girls prayed, a rapid knock echoed from outside the dorm door.
Thud thud thud...
“Who is it?!” the petite girl asked nervously.
“It's me, the two of you called me here. Open up. I've cleared all the zombies outside,” Xiao Yi said coldly from beyond the door.
When the zombie virus erupted, it was right in the middle of daytime classes, so the dorm wasn't crowded. When Xiao Yi hacked through the girls' dorm iron gate and rushed in, there were only five or six female zombies in the hallway—and the weakest kind at that.
So Xiao Yi quickly reached the two girls' dorm room.
The door creaked open slowly. Seeing it was Xiao Yi, the two hurriedly swung it wide and ushered him inside.
Xiao Yi glanced around. A textbook girls' dorm—cozy, spotless, with that special feminine fragrance lingering.
A few pink panties and a black D-cup bra hung off the bedframe, glaringly obvious.
The petite girl caught Xiao Yi eyeing the panties by the bed and flushed crimson. “Quit staring everywhere! We're dying of thirst here—give us some water and food! Um... I love sausages the most!”
Xiao Yi smirked faintly, turning to size up the petite girl with mild curiosity. “I do have plenty of water and food. There's still some left in the campus shop too—I could grab it anytime. But why the hell should I give any to you?”
His voice carried a chill. It wasn't that he was heartless; he just wasn't about to get stabbed in the back again.
He needed these two to get it: he had no obligation to save them. Want something? Pay the price.
He could save them, could toss them food—but that was charity.
Not duty!
Of course, if they wanted more, the price would be steeper.
The tall girl caught the ice in his tone and gave an awkward smile. “Thanks for coming to save us, big bro! I'm Li Wan Ning, she's Shen Ting Ting. We're both sophomores. We've been trapped here for days now—we're starving and parched. Could you spare us some food and water?”
Xiao Yi turned to Li Wan Ning, nodding approvingly. He pulled two ham sausages and two bottles of mineral water from his space bag and tossed them over. “Here.”
He liked her attitude.
“Thank you! Thank you so much!” Li Wan Ning bowed gratefully.
Shen Ting Ting bared her little tiger teeth with a huff, snatching a water bottle from the bed and chugging it down.
Both were famished and parched; they wolfed down the sausages and water in no time.
Rubbing her still-growling stomach, Li Wan Ning said sheepishly, “Big bro... could we have a bit more food? We haven't eaten in so long...”
“You're such a cheapskate! That tiny bit of food? One sausage doesn't fill shit!” Shen Ting Ting pouted, cheeks puffed in a sulky pout. Hydrated now, her little lips glistened even more.
“Want more food and water? Fine. But that was charity—once only. I'm no bleeding heart. Next time, bring something valuable to trade,” Xiao Yi said flatly, his gaze raking over Li Wan Ning's plump lips and lithe figure.
Li Wan Ning shivered, her face draining pale.
She knew exactly what he meant.
In their situation, what could they offer of value?
Nothing but themselves.
But...
To survive, did she really have to?
“I can pay you!” Shen Ting Ting fished a wad of hundred-yuan bills from her pocket and shoved them at Xiao Yi. “This much cash used to buy hundreds of sausages! Now just gimme ten!”
Shen Ting Ting had been a spoiled rich girl before. Back then, a guy like Xiao Yi? She wouldn't have spared him a glance.
Xiao Yi chuckled coolly, shaking his head. “End times now. Paper money's worthless trash. Save it for haggling with zombies. I don't need it.”
“Th-then what do you want?” Shen Ting Ting blinked her big watery eyes, confused.
Xiao Yi glanced at Li Wan Ning with a teasing smirk. “She knows what to do.”
