Morning Texts and Sisterly Sabotage
As soon as I woke up in the morning and plopped down at my desk, alternating glances between the monitor and my phone, one thing hit me hard: living a double life is exhausting.
I fired off a text to Eonni first.
Then I hopped into Dascode and messaged Huran-i. Is this what being an introvert's nightmare—wait, no, an extrovert's life feels like? Of course, one's my actual big sis, and the other's just a fellow streamer colleague—and a girl—so it's not that.
"Eek…"
I giggled to myself in my chair, slowly tapping out replies on the keyboard.
I replied to my rice-cooking Eonni first, then casually sent one to Huran-i too. The second I hit send, the numbers vanished and "typing…" popped up. At this rate, aren't they just waiting for my texts?
The rapid pings had my lips twitching into a grin without me realizing. Back in my guy days, I couldn't even imagine this alpha-male life. My heart swelled with grandeur. This must be what "flowers in both hands" feels like.
But Eonni's coming down, so what do I reply to Huran-i? She probably doesn't actually want to eat together—it's just Korean politeness, right? So I should…
This feels like peak college girl vibe, right? High school… no, uni girl. I admired my own genius, finger hovering lightly over enter.
—Ding-dong—
The doorbell rang. I jumped up and dashed to the door, flinging it open.
"You're here?"
"Yup! Good morning, our Yoonie too!"
There she was, beaming cutely. She held a pot, body twisted sideways as she smooshed her face against my cheek—like a puppy… no, a dog-cat hybrid.
"Eonni, the pot's gonna drop!"
"I usually get to play with our Yoonie's cheeks on the way in. Such a shame."
Eonni smacked her lips regretfully as she slowly stepped inside. Haven't skipped morning cheek-or-hair fondling till today? Kinda miss it, actually.
"Yoonie! It's cold—hurry inside!"
"Ah, yeah! Just gonna wash my hands."
I zipped to the bathroom, handled business, splashed water on my hands and face, and peeked in the mirror. Yep… still kinda cute this morning too.
I fiddled with my face, roughly dried off with a towel, and headed out. The delicious aroma hit me instantly—saliva factory activated. And this smell is…
"Brought your fave mala jjimdak—come sit quick!"
"As expected of my Eonni…!"
I bolted to the table she'd set and plopped down. Anyone watching might call eating mala first thing insane, but what can you do—it's always delish. Though… feels like I forgot something…
"What's up? What were you doing?"
"Oh, right!"
I stood and hurried to my desk. Totally spaced on replying to Huran-i.
"What? Something happen?"
"That sis from yesterday's collab? Was about to reply but got interrupted."
"…Yeah? Mind if Eonni sees?"
"Huh? Sure, it's fine."
Eonni got up and sidled next to me. No clue why she insists on peeking, but nothing to hide anyway.
I pulled up Dascode casually, and the unsent message lingered on screen.
Right as I went to tap enter.
"…Hold up. 'That'd be fun sometime'?"
Eonni's voice from right beside me, staring at the screen, sounded a tad scary. I turned—gone was the cheek-smooshing cutie from the door; now a cold expression.
"Huh? Oh, no! Just empty words! Y'know, Korean promises—like 'let's grab food sometime'!"
No idea why I'm making excuses, but skipping it felt disastrous.
"…No. You trust Eonni, right? Don't send that—send this instead."
She placed her hand over mine, deleted without hesitation, leaving just two words.
"…Eonni?"
Before I could speak, she grabbed my hand and hit enter. She's close enough that this is fine, right?
"Our Yoonie can't say no to anyone—what a handful. What if some stranger offers mala tang later and you just follow?"
Back to her usual cute face, she started fiddling with my cheek like nothing happened. Does she really distrust me that much? Wait, Huran-i's no stranger.
"Let's eat quick? You've got a stream today."
"…Yeah."
I'll apologize to Huran-i later and suggest hanging out next time. Eonni's just a worrywart—friends say that stuff all the time.
Cheek still pinched, I nodded and sat at the mala jjimdak spread.
"Here! Eat up, our Yoonie!"
"Mmph, yeah. Thanks—I'll dig in."
She plunked a big hunk on my plate the second I sat. I chomped down huge. …As expected of my Eonni? She cooked often back when I was a guy, but she's even better now.
"So good!"
"Yeah? Glad you like it. Eonni'll keep taking care of you, so no following strangers for food, okay?"
"Mmph, she's not a stranger though…"
I mumbled around the meat, but Eonni either ignored it or didn't hear, casually adding another piece.
If the timing had been off by even a second, disaster.
That collab girl from yesterday—wagging her tail, seducing my little sis. Her "honey/dear" crap to Yoonie already grated…!
"…Hold up. 'That'd be fun sometime'?"
Yoonie's too pure—didn't spot the shady intent, almost replied innocently. Way too risky.
"Huh? Oh, no! Just empty words! Y'know, Korean promises—like 'let's grab food sometime'!"
Nope. Woman's intuition screams otherwise. That "wanna eat together sometime" ain't politeness.
If Yoonie had sent "fun," that vixen would've locked in plans instantly. Yoonie can't refuse, so she'd cave! As if that bully-girl could snag my Yoonie.
"…No. You trust Eonni, right? Don't send that—send this instead."
I wanna warn Yoonie about her schemes, but she's a baby needing protection—so I'll swat it myself.
I laid my hand over her cute one, wiped the nonsense.
This'll make her back off, right? If she does from this, I'll be pissed…
"…Eonni?"
Her wide-eyed stare—so adorable I could die. How's anyone this cute?
"Our Yoonie can't say no to anyone—what a handful. What if some stranger offers mala tang later and you just follow?"
I casually cupped her cheek, kneading away the irritation. Yoonie's cheeks are pure bliss…
Not just 'cause she's mine—insanely lovable, soft enough to swallow whole. Gotta keep others' hands off.
