With the Goddess Department War Looming
With the Goddess Department war right before them, the sight of the modest standard temple made the goddesses hesitate for a moment before opening the door. They had returned from the Boundary, yet arriving without any prior contact still weighed on their minds.
Though he originated as a human from the Middle World, his abilities already place him among the highest Main Gods.
He is a powerful Main God capable of standing toe-to-toe with that monstrous Main God of the Divine Realm and his twenty billion innate divine power.
Bursting into another deity’s personal temple without notice was inherently rude, and above all, the owner was a male god. If a crowd of goddesses descends on him like this, it could easily invite strange misunderstandings. In the worst case, even if something untoward happened inside his personal temple, pride would prevent them from speaking of it.
A goddess making a personal visit to a male god’s private temple already carried that implication. They had chosen to solve the risk by arriving as a group.
Ding-dong—! Ding-dong—!
The doorbell’s chime brought a voice from deep inside the building, one that clearly belonged to a high-ranking angel.
“The Dimensional and War God is currently resting. Please leave a message, and I will inform him at once.”
“This is urgent business. We are the highest-ranking goddesses of the Round Table.”
Thud, thud, thud, thud—!
The sound of hurried footsteps echoed from within. Running? Why would anyone run inside a temple?
No matter how they examined it, the Dimensional and War God’s personal temple was a standard divine-realm structure no more than thirty meters in either dimension. They used identical temples themselves, so they were certain. Was there even enough space inside to run?
Click—!
While the goddesses stood puzzled, the temple door opened to reveal a panting high-ranking angel.
“P-pardon me. Please, come inside.”
The instant the door swung wide, a burst of light flooded out, forcing them to close their eyes. When they opened them again, they were stunned.
This was no ordinary divine-realm light. It overflowed with divine power, and the air that rolled out carried such dense vitality that it seemed to saturate their very lungs. Has he artificially created a sanctuary, a concentrated divine-power zone? The consumption must be staggering.
Beyond the doorway stretched a majestic corridor of endless silver length, and the sight stole their breath once more. The familiar sensation emanating from that infinite hallway was a material so precious it was rarely seen even in the divine realm.
“Is that… adamantite?”
The corridor itself was formed from the moon’s core—the nucleus that radiated infinite vitality and activated entire stars. The goddesses stepped inside in a daze, running their hands along the walls to confirm the composition. Their jaws dropped.
“It isn’t painted. The entire structure is adamantite.”
“How is such a thing even possible?”
The interior was a colossal temple whose corridors stretched beyond sight, every inch constructed from adamantite. A permanent material that emitted endless vitality, a treasure so valuable that a mere fist-sized fragment could purchase an enormous temple—yet here an entire building had been built from it.
Even the bodies of these Main Goddesses reacted. The vitality pouring from the adamantite walls surged into them, activating their forms to an extreme degree. A pleasant fullness spreads through me, making my body tingle with excitement.
Their senses had grown so sharp that the slightest stimulus could arouse them, and the feeling only intensified. It was exactly like pressing oneself directly against the moon’s core to replenish vitality.
“This… this is impossible. It’s pure adamantite.”
“How can such high-purity adamantite exist in these quantities?”
The goddesses felt their entire bodies reach a state of extreme activation. The rising sensations pushed them toward a light climax. Though they regretted it deeply, they severed the flow of vitality to halt the reaction. If we’re not careful, we’ll end up humiliating ourselves in front of everyone right here.
Having reached the pinnacle of spiritual existence as Main Goddesses, they were exquisitely sensitive to such activated vitality. What might cause mild excitement in an ordinary high god was genuinely dangerous for them. The sudden contact with the moon’s overwhelming vitality nearly stole our reason entirely.
When the high-ranking angel began to stare at them strangely, the goddesses quickly composed themselves and restored their dignified expressions.
“Guide us.”
“Yes! Right this way, please.”
The angel hurried ahead down the long corridor that seemed to reach the horizon. The goddesses followed, eyes darting everywhere. The walls are adamantite layered with divine-power amplification gems?I’ve never seen such an extravagant Main God temple.Compared to this, my own personal temple is little more than a doghouse. How in the world did he build something like this?Good heavens—what is that? I don’t even recognize that gem.
Through enormous windows of transparent crystal they saw lush forests and a lake whose waters glowed with pure light. Beyond them, no wall could be seen. By their senses, the space measured at least a hundred kilometers across.
“Has he recreated the entire divine realm in here?”
“Is that even possible for a Main God?”
“He turned the whole space into a sanctuary? What could the divine-power source possibly be?”
“Are those truly the sun and moon?”
They tilted their heads back. Far above, a flat transparent crystal plate formed the ceiling, and upon it hung a sun radiating immense divine power and a moon pouring out vitality.
“That is the sun’s divine power. But if he can manifest the moon as well, that’s Creator God territory.”
“The scale is still too small to call it that, yet it’s incredible. I’ve never seen anything like this even in a Creator God’s domain.”
“Maintaining an ecosystem in an isolated space would require far more than this. Unless… is that the Cosmic Tree?”
At the center of the lake rose two pairs of enormous cotyledons. The overwhelming vitality radiating from the gigantic sprout dominated the entire area.
Just the sights they had witnessed so far were enough to make the goddesses’ heads spin. Simply calculating the adamantite used to construct this temple would be enough to purchase several planets brimming with vitality—enough to found an entire divine realm.Even though it is small, this is the divine power of a Creator God’s domain operating both sun and moon simultaneously. If he can naturally cultivate the Cosmic Tree, he could transform any star into one teeming with life.
These were riches and vitality the goddesses had never encountered. They could not tell whether the trembling of their divine-power barriers was letting vitality seep through and heat their bodies, or whether their own excitement was causing the barriers to waver.
Besides, the temple seemed endless. No matter how far they walked, the corridor continued. The more they moved through the endlessly splendid, softly silver-glowing halls, the more their minds drifted back to the days when they had reigned as Goddess Kings—clad in magnificent attire, bathed in the respect and envy of all who beheld them.
Looking down at the plain uniforms they now wore, a wave of futility crashed over them so strongly that tears threatened to spill. I lost the throne because of a single mistake. All because I trusted worthless husbands and lovers.Foolish subordinates brought the divine realm to ruin.If you were going to seize the seat of Main God of the Divine Realm by force, at least manage it properly!Drunk on long-awaited power, they indulged only in pleasure.
The male gods, faithful only to their desires, ran rampant in the Middle World until they lost every believer and every scrap of faith. They fell lower than demigods and scattered among humanity.
Idiotic male gods who never understood that maintaining divine authority is what makes one a god! All they ever did was satisfy their filthy lusts—!
Building something is difficult, but destroying it takes only an instant.
While they waited in the Spirit Realm for so long, the resentment had grown unbearable, and they had begged for one last chance. The Creator God, acknowledging their strength as Goddess Kings and their contributions to reviving the divine realm, had granted them a final opportunity.
With ruthless resolve, they had rebuilt the divine realm by any means necessary. They ignored luxury and splendor, expanding their forces more fiercely than anyone.Goddess Kings who shared similar pasts banded together, fiercely competing against the Main God of the Divine Realm, and raised the divine realm to its current state.
They had cultivated independent divine realms that ranked among the highest in the divine world and returned as Main God-level goddesses, each commanding over a billion believers. Yet they still lacked the achievements required to receive their own stars. Grinding their teeth, they had told themselves to endure just a little longer, focusing solely on expanding power and forgetting all thoughts of adornment.
But now, seeing their plain, utterly charmless reflections in the walls of this impossibly splendid temple, sorrow surged at their own shabbiness. Is this truly who I am?Is this how everyone sees me?I was once the noblest and most beautiful of Goddess Kings…
No matter how they denied it, the walls reflected only venomous goddesses whose expressions were sharp enough to pierce steel. All of them seemed to share the same thought; every pair of eyes had turned red and bloodshot.
After walking a long while, they finally reached an enormous, extravagantly decorated door. Countless jewels adorned it, and upon its surface were written the words Audience Chamber.
Audience Chamber
The high-ranking angel bowed, then dashed toward the door. It seems another visitor has arrived.Having to run like that every single time must be exhausting.
The audience chamber’s door opened automatically with a soft whisper. Someone emerged.
Creeeeak—!
The moment they saw her, even the Goddess Kings themselves felt she was breathtakingly beautiful. Golden hair framed a face of perfect grace. A magnificent golden dress shimmered, its neckline tastefully filled by a bosom encased in platinum-colored urgent armor that rippled like liquid metal. A cloak of many-colored jewels draped her form with regal dignity; every step sent the gems on her skirt scattering brilliant light. Above her softly glowing golden locks rested a crown set with countless transparently shining diamonds. The sight was enough to daze the mind.
The air around her was steeped in an elegant fragrance. Her every movement carried such dignity and nobility that she seemed the only being in existence. The appearance of this empress-like goddess, who harmonized so perfectly with the splendid temple, overlapped with memories of their own past selves and sent their thoughts into chaos.
It’s like looking at who I once was.
Is this a dream? It must be a dream.
Yet when the goddess’s golden eyes flashed with brilliant light, the Goddess Kings snapped back to their senses. The crest engraved upon her chest was that of a duke, and her jewel cloak had been fashioned to resemble peacock feathers. The face was startlingly familiar.
“He is asleep. Come back later.”
The haughty, ice-cold voice jolted them fully awake.
“Granraha—! You!”
“He? Who gave you permission to speak of him that way—!”
Granraha slammed the audience chamber door shut and layered it with a soundproof seal. The goddesses could only stare, utterly speechless.
Granraha dragged the entire group of hissing, furious goddesses back to her own temple. Just before leaving, she had changed all their clothing back into plain formal attire. Now she sat quietly, sipping the tea her assigned high-ranking angel had brought, listening without reaction to the torrent of complaints and grievances.
They accused her of monopolizing information and claiming every benefit for herself, yet she did not so much as raise an eyebrow. When her continued silence finally cooled their emotions, the goddesses drank their tea in silence.
Slurp. Slurp.
Even though they had once considered the living room of a standard temple rather spacious, it now felt oppressively cramped. The image of the Dimensional and War God’s vast, magnificent Main God temple kept flickering before their eyes. Even at the height of my reign as Goddess King, I never lived in a temple like that.A personal temple containing both a divine-power-dense sanctuary and an internal divine realm overflowing with vitality—it feels like a dream.
Most shocking of all was Granraha herself, walking confidently before them in jewels and a dress so expensive that ordinary Main Gods could never dream of them. Jealousy burned so fiercely it felt as if their blood were flowing backward.
Still, after venting their anger for some time, their emotions had settled enough for cooler judgment. Had their bond been any weaker, they would have fallen prey to the God of Knowledge’s countless political schemes long ago.
“Are you planning to marry the Dimensional and War God?”
“No. There is Granzoa’s situation to consider, and I carry my own past mistakes. I cannot become the partner of a Main God of that caliber. If I were to marry a promising new Main God, the entire Main Divine Realm would erupt in outrage. I would be criticized for all eternity—accused of deceiving an innocent, rising star into marriage.”
