The Goddess Faction's War Cry
At the highest point of the Main God Temple, the divine power released by the high gods converged. Every goddess had opened her own divine power to the fullest, pouring her entire strength into the gathering.
Thirteen pairs of blazing golden wings at the summit illuminated the entire divine realm with dazzling brilliance. The endless radiance of divine power spread into the cosmos, repositioning the stars themselves.
All eyes were drenched in ecstasy by the overwhelmingly powerful waves. They could only marvel at the wondrous might displayed by the Dimensional and War God, the very center of that divine force.
Around him stood fully armed Main Gods and the highest-ranking deities, forming a perfect encirclement. Six months had passed since the meeting, and the new Dimensional and War God had already put his strategy into motion.
Whooooooosh! Rumble… rumble…
Every star between the Main God Star and the sun had been aligned in a perfect line. It had taken the full six months to meticulously adjust and stabilize the orbits of the relocated celestial bodies.
Now there is no intermediate point where the Substitute Gods can circle around and strike our rear. All we have to do is block their frontal assault.
The Substitute Gods, having noticed the stellar anomaly, launched their attack. All combat deities above upper god rank had already been deployed to the Boundary. Thanks to the several-times-strengthened forces of the divine race, the Substitute Gods on the existing front were easily repelled.
In coordination, hundreds of Demon Kings from the Demon Realm had been added to the Boundary, locked in fierce offensive and defensive combat. All that remained in the divine realm now were the Chief God, the primordial gods, the goddesses, and male gods below upper rank.
By the karma contract, the demon gods who must dispatch equivalent forces to the Boundary will appear the moment the Chief God is deployed.
This was total war between the divine realm and the demon realm. If the Substitute Gods had not invaded, a full-scale divine-demon war would have been perfectly natural. To prepare for any eventuality, the Chief God of the Divine Realm and the primordial combat gods stood fully armed and waiting.
Rumble… rumble… rumble…
The fifth planet, now called the Boundary, was being drawn toward the Main God Star.
“The Dimensional Authority and black magic of the Dimensional and War God are awe-inspiring no matter how many times I see them. A war where we can move an entire battlefield planet to our home star without destroying it? I never imagined such a thing.”
The Chief God of the Divine Realm watched in admiration as the new Dimensional and War God pulled the fifth planet—the Boundary—toward their star without causing the slightest damage.
We’ve been fighting such an easily winnable war for eons, all while making those ridiculous conditional deals with the demon gods.
When the Substitute Gods restricted the divine realm’s growth, the Chief God had been forced to mobilize systems that other divine realms openly called a “complete mess.”
I can’t even describe how much ridicule I suffered every time I attended the Chief Gods’ assembly.
The memory of being mocked for not even qualifying as a God King made the Chief God grind his teeth.
Beside him, the God of Knowledge kept exclaiming in wonder.
“He is completely ignoring the Demon Kings’ planetary control. There are already more than four hundred Demon King entities stationed at the Boundary.”
“He is the God of Dimensions and a Main God level black mage. Such control is only natural. Even I cannot stop planetary manipulation of this scale. The fields are entirely different.”
The closer the Boundary drew to the divine realm, the greater the disadvantage for the demon gods. The Demon Kings at the front had halted their battles to exert control and prevent the star from moving too close, yet they could not interfere with the planetary manipulation of a black mage who had surpassed ten circles. The planet continued its inexorable approach.
The gods who had been nervously wondering whether the Demon Kings’ interference might disrupt the process finally relaxed once everything moved without issue. Leisurely conversation flowed among them.
“By the way, is the rumor that the Dimensional and War God is a lecher actually true? Countless goddesses have approached him over these six months hoping to form a connection, yet not a single one has succeeded. The only ones who received divine power from him were my daughters, and even then he only transferred it through spatial relocation.”
When his wife had first insisted that their daughters must raise their power through essence exchange with the Dimensional and War God if necessary, the God of Knowledge had felt as if the sky were collapsing. Yet the outcome had been the best possible resolution.
Directly sharing essence is the most effective method with the least loss. However, the new Dimensional and War God found such a request extremely difficult to accept, so he did not lay a single finger on my daughters’ bodies. He simply transferred the power through spatial relocation. Thanks to that, my daughters have risen from the lower end of upper god rank to the middle tier and are now training their divine power diligently. They will likely reach full upper god status soon.
For the God of Knowledge, it was something to be deeply grateful for. Laughter had finally returned to his household after far too long.
Afterward I remained tense, fearing he might use the incident as an excuse to approach my daughters, but instead I had to desperately block my daughters from approaching him further.
Since then he had taken the Dimensional and War God’s side in every matter, though even that felt insufficient as repayment.
“Perhaps the Dimensional and War God’s standards are simply that high?”
“It appears so. He only occasionally converses with the Goddess of Love and Beauty. Even that is apparently because the child he appointed as the Saint of Dimensions was once her own Saint.”
“Is that so? There truly are no suitable figures left in the divine realm. If he would only marry a high-ranking goddess and become Chief God of this realm, he could immediately begin the predecessor training to become a Creator God.”
“Has the Creation Realm already contacted you? Congratulations.”
“I still have to start with the mortal realm first. As you know, with the divine realm in this state, there is nothing I can do.”
The Chief God let out one heavy sigh after another. He had served a Creator God, earned merit on the battlefield, received a star, and risen to become Chief God of the Divine Realm.
Most gods’ stories end the moment they become Chief God. Of course, it is an incomparable honor. To possess a world one can shape according to one’s own will. The problem is that greed has no end. It inevitably leads one to aim for the position of Creator God.
To become a Creator God, one had to govern both star and divine realm skillfully, produce a profitable realm, and even give birth to new Main Gods. Only then would one be recognized.
For a Main God to emerge from a star ruled by a Chief God is an exceedingly rare occurrence—so rare it is practically a dead rule. Yet now that I have become that rare case, there is simply no way to pass on the divine realm.
The authority the Chief God possessed was only slightly better than that of the highest gods in other divine realms. Naturally, no one wanted the position.
Newly ascended Main Gods would find it far preferable to inherit an already completed divine realm. But for him, who held almost no real power, the question of who would accept the divine realm weighed heavily on his mind.
I already made discreet inquiries in the Main Divine Realm, but they all simply laughed. They would rather accumulate more merit there and wait for a chance to receive a better star. If this continues and no one steps forward to inherit the divine realm, I may end up qualified yet unable to receive the education.
When he imagined his usually obedient wife’s eyes turning savage at the thought of him becoming a Creator God, goosebumps rose across the Chief God’s skin. The goddess who was normally so lovely and adorable became more venomous than anyone the moment his position or their son’s future was involved. He could not even get angry; it drove him mad.
“I must pass this divine realm to the Dimensional and War God somehow.”
“Is it truly that urgent? Even so, a Main God Star as prosperous as this one is quite rare, is it not?”
“Damn it—! They say that working even a little on the Creator God’s battlefield earns several times more than here. I had no response at all.”
When he had gone to the Main Divine Realm feeling triumphant after obtaining the qualifications to become a Creator God, he had enjoyed a brief period of genuine happiness. For once he had basked in envious gazes instead of forced smiles, laughing heartily, until the succession issue arose. He had assumed it would be simple. Yet the very prospective Main Gods who had praised him now fled in panic the moment inheriting the divine realm was mentioned.
“Just wait until I become a Creator God. As if I would give any of you stars—!”
The Chief God remembered vividly what the other Main Gods had called his divine realm back then: a “complete mess” and a “bizarre divine realm.” Behind his back they had sneered and called him the “nicely crazy Chief God.”
Now that my position is higher, no one curses me to my face, but the number of people doing so behind my back has doubled.
Having felt the despairing atmosphere of the Creation Realm, the Chief God sighed once more.
“Haa… I have obtained the qualifications to become a Creator God, yet I cannot pass on the succession and therefore cannot receive the education. What kind of situation is this?”
“Hoo… That is why I told you to prepare something separately to pass on to your successor.”
“Who could have known it would turn out like this? I simply lived letting things flow naturally. I never imagined it would become this troublesome.”
“At the time, it was the best possible choice. We could not kill our entire family, could we?”
“That is true. But what are we to do about this predicament?”
“Is there truly no chance any prospective Main God will take the bait?”
“None—! Damn those other Chief Gods. They badmouthed us so thoroughly that there is not a single prospective Main God who does not know our realm’s situation.”
Even though the Chief God destined to become a Creator God had asked personally, no one had appeared. Some rumor or another must have spread.
Receiving a new Main God Star meant having to fight the Giant God Race, the Demon Realm, and the Substitute Gods. No weakling afraid of such battles would accept the star.
“They said they would endure some hardship in the certification battle but had no intention of inheriting such a messed-up divine realm, so they would pass.”
As the Chief God continued sighing, the God of Knowledge spoke as though there were no alternative.
“Then there is only the Dimensional and War God.”
“Ugh… It seems so. He does not appear to know anything yet.”
“No. Over the past six months he has absorbed every regulation and piece of information regarding both the divine realm and the demon realm. His insides will probably burn with frustration.”
“What? Who gave him such top-secret information? Was it you? Even you are betraying me—!”
Faced with the Chief God’s despairing expression, the God of Knowledge turned his gaze away and answered.
“When my wife was hounding me about our daughters, would it not have been better if you had shared a little divine power? Only a tiny fraction of twenty billion was needed for their promotion.”
“Th-that may be twenty billion in divine power, but since it is comparable to what the demon gods possess, I could not simply reduce it, could I? If something happens while I am recovering my divine power, what would become of this divine realm?”
“I understand. It is simply that after being nagged for tens of thousands of years, finally receiving proper treatment made me feel wronged. My wife also kept pushing me to gain your favor so she could receive another divine power transfer. In the end I had no choice but to help.”
“Hah…! I was truly in the wrong. I really did not know it was like that.”
“It was a family matter. I could not speak of it. By the way, are you truly saying there is no prospective Main God to inherit the divine realm? You must be joking. You are the Chief God of the Main God Star that ranks near the top of the entire divine realm. And it is an independent realm, no less.”
The God of Knowledge, accustomed to the Chief God mixing jokes with truth, asked again. The answer that returned was a sincere one delivered with a face full of despair.
“The Cyber World’s prediction is that it would be faster for my son to become a Main God and receive the succession.”
“Your son? The one who deserted at the Boundary and fled back to the main star…”
“Enough—! I will drag that bastard back immediately! Even my wife does not interfere because this concerns the Creator God’s promotion. I became Chief God and am now on the verge of becoming a Creator God, yet my own child stands in the way.”
“Pl-please cheer up.”
“Why do you sound like that? You speak as if it is impossible! I am the Chief God of the Divine Realm—! The great Chief God who is about to become a Creator God!”
The future that had been tightly blocked by the Goddess Department and surrounding circumstances had opened wide, and his motivation had returned. That was good. Unfortunately, his characteristic stubbornness had revived along with it.
Sigh… I can only hope it works out.
The god tied up tightly in the corner was none other than the Former War God. Less than a month after deployment to the Boundary, he had deserted and fled. His whereabouts had become a mystery until he was captured and brought back in that state.
How much I ground my teeth while quickly covering up the desertion report and manipulating it through secret summons.
They were both War Gods, yet one had become a Main God and led an eons-long certification war to complete victory, while the true young master could not even endure a simple defensive battle and ran away.
No matter how talented he is as the Chief God’s direct descendant, can such a coward truly be trained into a Main God? Logically it was impossible. Yet the Chief God intends to push the matter forward.
It would be faster to keep producing direct descendants by performing essence exchange with the highest goddesses until a Main God appears to inherit the divine realm. Of course, the lack of vitality and the Goddess Department’s opposition make that impossible.
Like other divine realms, the most efficient method was for the Chief God to continuously produce direct descendants capable of becoming Main Gods. It was also the fastest route. The God of Knowledge was thinking of words the reputation-conscious Chief God could never bring himself to say.
And now the Boundary arrived before the Main God Star.
Rumble… rumble… rumble…
The massive Boundary looked like a moon when viewed from the divine realm. Fighting spirit surged in the eyes of every primordial combat god.
Shiiiing! Flash!
The Chief God drew his divine sword and began rising toward the Boundary. The thirteen pairs of wings on his back—the proof of a Main God—spread wide, and divine words resonated throughout the realm.
“For the King—!”
The primordial combat gods followed the Chief God, departing the divine realm and heading for the Boundary. It was only natural that the tightly bound Former War God was dragged along behind them.
Whooooooosh!
The Dimensional and War God folded his wings once more and watched them depart. Having consumed a great deal of divine power and magic to control the star while ignoring the Demon Kings’ interference, he now needed rest.
The long war between the Chief God and the demon gods is only beginning, but until the relocated star stabilizes there is nothing for me to do. I should replenish my magic power and then pull in the outer stars.
There was no chance the current Chief God would lose a war against the demon realm. The Boundary was now right in the divine realm’s front yard.
Since infinite reinforcements are possible, if we avoid a direct frontal war and simply wait until the planet is fully drawn in, even the demon god will not recklessly charge forward.
In this standoff where both divine and demon forces were fully gathered, they could pull in and eliminate the planets occupied by the Substitute Gods one by one. It would be a complete victory.
“O greatest of all, Sword Lord. Now it is your fight.”
The new Dimensional and War God turned and headed for his quarters.
I need to rest thoroughly for at least a month before I can fight again.
He remained unaware that the eyes of the goddesses watching his retreating figure were anything but ordinary.
