The High Elf Queens' Desperate Counterattack
The Dragonkin and Nagakin who had been soaring through the skies above the Great Forest were hurled away by the tremendous force of the explosion. They slammed into the World Tree and were flung across its massive branches. Crack-crack-crack-crack! The bridge painstakingly constructed by the Dwarf and High Elf races snapped in its entirety and was blasted into the air above the Great Forest. The only silver lining was that none of them had fallen into the endless abyss of the Great Cavity.
“Uwaaaaah!”
“Krruuuugh!”
However, the number of casualties—those crushed to death beneath the shattered bridge or those who were launched skyward only to plummet and die—grew exponentially. Having annihilated the vanguard in a single stroke, the Magic God of Dimensions restored his body to its normal state as a dark mage.
"Behold the greatness of black magic, which reigns supreme on the battlefield."
From atop the Survival Magic Tower, the dark mage raised his newly regenerated arms in front of his robe and declared with absolute authority. Yet inside, his heart was in tatters.
Goddamn it! What kind of pathetic sight is this? A Magic God like me, going all out against mere mortals? The other mercenary gods would laugh their asses off if they saw this. The unfavorable situation pisses me off, and I really don’t like the hands I regenerated with a 9th-circle Blood Big Bang either.
The color of the regenerated hands was far too pale and fragile-looking. He supposed he should be satisfied that he had avoided becoming permanently crippled. The residual divine power from that last spell has been heavily depleted. Soon I’ll be able to use 10th-circle magic. If I just cast All Things Shall Return to the Sower and sit tight, this battle will end in my victory. It really is a brilliantly designed spell, even if I do say so myself. Once this war is over, I’m sealing the gate and holing up inside the Survival Magic Tower for about ten thousand years.
The Main Gods would never tolerate such a direct challenge to their authority again, so the dimensional barrier was unlikely to collapse. With their main vanguard force wiped out, it doesn’t look like they have any more ways to resist. After all, who in their right mind would come up with the insane idea of sacrificing their own body to cast magic inside a no-magic zone sealed by divine power?
The High Elf Queens had never imagined a counterattack using such high-tier magic either, which was why they had fallen so easily. If I hadn’t built my tower inside the Great Forest—a no-magic zone—I never would have come up with the idea of sacrificing a perfectly healthy body either. No, if those vicious elves had just quietly let me gather enough food to eat, I never would have thought of this at all.
The Magic God of Dimensions ground his teeth once more at the sheer abnormality of his own childhood. The war is over now. The races of the Great Forest and even the Dragonkin are still reeling from the shock of that explosion. They’ve only ever faced the crude, brute-force demonic energy of the Demon Race. They’ve never seen magic with this many layered effects before, so of course they can’t respond properly.
The Dragonkin possessed high mana reserves but lacked training, resulting in poor quality. Even their Dragon Emperor barely scraped into the 8th circle. Against high-tier magic of equal circle rank but superior mana quality, they stood no chance. If the Orc Lords had charged me wrapped in their reinforced aura, or if the Dragon Kings had attacked with meteors, I would have been helpless. Thank goodness that didn’t happen.
It was ridiculous that the Dragon Kings, despite having mana above the 8th circle, couldn’t even cast a basic meteor spell that merely called down a few meteors. Honestly, if it weren’t for the emergency measures against magic sealing, who the hell would create such an inefficient spell?
For now, the situation was excellent—he had won, and all that remained was cleanup. Yet something felt off. Granzoa would never stay silent after losing her own daughters, the High Elf Queens. But it’s too quiet. Did she actually get disciplined?
At that exact moment, an ominous premonition flashed through his mind and his throat began to itch. An illusion? No—this is battle precognition!
Bwoooooooong—!
Suddenly, a massive crimson greatsword tore through space with a horrifying shriek, grazing the robe around the Magic God of Dimensions’ neck. Slice! The burning spirit power split his throat open, sending blood spraying into the air. Immediately afterward, more greatswords poured out of space, all aiming for his neck.
“Kgh—! You were still alive?”
The greatswords suddenly bursting from space had been a lethal surprise attack. The Magic God of Dimensions had no choice but to allow a few hits in order to avoid a direct strike to his vital points.
Shaaaaah! Fwoooooosh!
The wounds he had sacrificed his life to create now inflicted additional damage—burning, freezing, poisoning, or turning to stone. “Chiiii! Elemental King attribute damage!?”
Ignoring the attribute damage, he rolled forward like a tumbling ball. At the same time, he unleashed Blood Arrows fueled by his own blood toward the greatswords.
Thudududududu!
Aura wrapped around the spirit swords and shattered the incoming magic. Yet the blades continued their relentless pursuit of his head. That persistence and flawless sword formation were the specialty of the High Elf Queens.
“You really were alive?”
The Magic God of Dimensions let out a sound that could have been either delight at his first love still being alive or dismay that such powerful enemies had survived—he couldn’t tell which. He dodged the continuous greatsword assault using evasion maneuvers he had mastered over a hundred years and future foresight.
“Did you really think I would die from something like this!”
The Magic God of Dimensions’ body moved without pause. He shifted horizontally to evade thrusting attacks and vertically to dodge sweeping ones. Shu! Shuk! It was a perfect ambush and coordinated assault that would have already taken his head if not for his precise future foresight and a body whose agility had been endlessly enhanced.
The moment he escaped the ambush with fluid evasion, he created distance and activated Blood Big Bang once again.
“I’ll kill you properly this time! Blood Big Bang!”
Ignoring the dizziness caused by blood loss, the Magic God of Dimensions observed the situation from within the blood sphere that completely enveloped his body. Sure enough, the High Elf Queens appeared as if blood were spreading from the hands gripping their spirit swords.
Ooooooo! Shwooooong!
The High Elf Queens had large sections of their mithril armor torn away, exposing bare skin, and all their vital-point armor was destroyed. Yet they appeared largely unharmed. How the hell are these vicious bitches still alive? Spatial movement should have been impossible with the residual divine power I left behind.
To the Magic God of Dimensions, the High Elf Queens were his first love, but it had always been one-sided admiration. To them, I was nothing more than a black mage who absolutely had to be killed.
Reminiscing about the past was a luxury he could only afford after surviving. Because these things survived, the enemy’s morale is soaring again.
Uwaaaaaaaaaah—!
The joyous cheers of the High Elf clans, confirming both the attack and survival of their queens, shook the entire Great Forest. Dwarves began moving to rebuild the metal bridge that had regained its strength, while Nagakin and Dragonkin took to the skies once more. Shockingly, those proud Dragonkin and Nagakin were even carrying Orc Lords on their backs and claws.
The Dragonkin always bragged that they would rather die than let another race ride on their backs. Guess that was all bullshit.
Because it was an emergency, he quickly corrected his thinking. Come to think of it, these High Elf Queens have been my mortal enemies my entire life.
Because of the High Elf Queens, the Magic God of Dimensions had never once eaten comfortably or rested peacefully throughout his childhood. After Master’s stored food in the subspace ran out, all we ate were moss off rocks and animal corpses that were about to rot, right? We had to fight tooth and nail just to get a single fruit that was overflowing in the Great Forest. Thinking about it again, it really pisses me off.
Pushed back by the High Elf Queens, the Magic God of Dimensions had been forced to dig a tiny cave into the outer wall of the Great Cavity where demonic energy raged, lie down on the cold floor, and shiver without any firewood. Looking back now, most of the reason my personality became so twisted is because of them.
Because of his unsociable nature that refused to trust others, he had suffered greatly even while working as a mercenary god. A single resentful phrase naturally slipped from his lips.
“All my misfortune is your fault.”
The faces of the High Elf Queens who heard those words hardened like stone.
To be honest, we almost all died just now.
The sight of the black mage who had tried to annihilate them in an instant was wrapped in an ominous sphere of blood. A sinister voice leaked out quietly, suggesting he was preparing another dangerous spell.
Our fault? What is he talking about?
I don’t know. There’s no point talking to him.
As expected of an evil black mage, he’s blaming others.
The High Elf Queens’ eyes were bloodshot to the point they looked bright red. They had just faced a real brush with death from the black mage’s surprise attack that sacrificed his own body.
Surviving that was truly heaven’s luck.
It’s thanks to the magical defensive armor we poured an enormous budget into. It bought us a brief delay.
The Elemental Kings had sensed their contractors’ mortal danger and forcibly pulled them into the Spirit Realm. In exchange, the Elemental Kings had suffered damage equivalent to reverse summoning, causing their fusion to break. Still, the High Elf Queens had always fought using their bodies and aura inside the Great Forest where magic didn’t work.
They really are fast when it comes to running away.
When they returned to the Middle World, all of them had aimed lethal strikes at the black mage’s neck almost simultaneously, yet he had dodged just like always. It reminded them of the past.
That black mage has been first-rate at running away ever since he was a child.
For a mere 7th-circle user to survive their combined assault—which surpassed even 7th-circle masters—was proof of truly exceptional escape ability. The fact that they had let him slip away back then had come back to bite them now, making their rage impossible to contain.
“You damn evil black mage bastard!”
The most hot-tempered Red High Elf Queen charged forward, radiating torrents of aura, and struck down at the blood sphere. It was a swift strike born from realizing how reckless it was to give a mage time to chant. The other High Elf Queens also wrapped their swords in aura and slashed at the blood barrier.
Pak! Thud! Pak! Thud!
The blood barrier sliced by aura blades bounced around like a ball, evading the attacks. I don’t know what attribute it is, but it doesn’t cut well.
It’s absorbing or deflecting all the impact.
The aura contained within the High Elf Queens’ spirit swords hammered the blood barrier, but the blood sphere’s defense was an iron wall. Normal attacks aren’t working. In that case, we have no choice but to use our killing blows.
All their eyes met in perfect agreement while they continued hammering the blood sphere to disrupt the magic chant. The five spirit swords simultaneously released their respective elemental spirits to the maximum.
Ooooooooooong!
It was the preparation for a strike that had annihilated countless Demon Kings in the Middle World.
Meanwhile, inside the blood sphere, the dark mage was screaming internally.
Aaaargh—! Stop it—! You crazy bitches—! Their coordinated attack is so vicious I don’t even have a chance to counter. What the hell am I supposed to do?
The Magic God of Dimensions had no idea why the High Elf Queens had gone berserk with bloodshot eyes, but he didn’t have the mental capacity to think about it. Although the blood barrier looked intact, he was on the verge of death from constantly pouring out blood to repair the areas sliced by their swords. The blood barrier is vulnerable to aura slashes and piercing attacks. At this rate, it will eventually be breached.
Thump! Thump!
The High Elf Queens continued smashing down with monstrous strength capable of splitting boulders bare-handed, causing the blood sphere to bounce around randomly. He couldn’t even recognize his own coordinates anymore. With chanting impossible and dizziness from blood loss clouding his mind, the manifestation of magic grew increasingly distorted.
Whoa—! This is bad!
The arms he had just regenerated couldn’t be used with body magic until they stabilized. And if he used his legs now and failed to handle the situation, he wouldn’t be able to dodge the next wave of attacks and his head would fly off. There’s no way I can die like this after everything I’ve been through.
Like a flashing panorama, the beautiful world he had seen beyond the mountains when he first left as a 10th-circle mage flickered before his eyes. A surge of will to live suddenly welled up like a fountain.
This isn’t a duel against Demon Gods or a war against the Substitute Gods. There’s no way I’m going to die to a mere billion or so creatures from the Great Forest, right?
His mind, which had been thrown into chaos by the external impacts, sharpened with terrifying clarity. External magic is sealed by the divine power barrier, and I have no more flesh to sacrifice for body magic. But I am still a dark mage. When pushed into a corner like this, I’ll show you the pinnacle of summoning magic by calling forth a god from another world. Conveniently, I have contracts with destruction gods and similar entities who promised to rampage without any compensation if it’s on a battlefield. This is all your fault.
Grinding his teeth and steeling his resolve to go all out, he looked outside—and his mouth fell open at the completely unexpected sight.
What the hell is this?
Riiiiip—! Riiiip!
The High Elf Queens were tearing off and discarding their own damaged mithril armor as if it were nothing more than torn cloth. His eyes nearly popped out of his skull in shock. A sudden strip show?
With their right hands, they swung spirit swords larger than their own bodies at the blood sphere without pause, while their left hands dismantled their own defensive gear. Riiiiiiip! When the armor damaged by body magic refused to come off easily, they tore it away with raw physical strength.
That’s top-grade armor designed to withstand high-ranking demons—armor that shouldn’t even be damaged by anything below the 7th circle. And they’re ripping it apart with brute force? Even an ogre couldn’t do that!
The moment the mithril armor was completely removed, their bouncing breasts and pale buttocks came into view. But what truly shocked him was the power that surpassed even an ogre. On top of that, they were now practically naked—wearing only metallic undergarments that barely covered their most intimate parts and breasts—swinging their greatswords with both hands. Far from feeling aroused, an overwhelming sense of danger washed over him.
Dangerous! I have to stop them from stripping!
These were the High Elf Queens who had been his first love in childhood. As they swung their swords with full power, their dream-like massive breasts and firm buttocks—barely covered—danced dizzyingly right before his eyes. But this was hardly the time to feel his heart race.
The extreme sense of crisis cleared his blood-deprived mind, and the Magic God of Dimensions foresaw his own death. This is the crisis of a lifetime—!
The High Elf Queens’ bodies flushed a peach-pink color as if burning, and their speed increased dramatically. Boom-boom-boom-boom-boom-boom-boom! The sound of their greatswords cutting through the air had long since become explosive shockwaves that ruptured the atmosphere.
It’s going to break—!
Having exceeded its tolerance for impact, the Blood Big Bang he had reinforced with everything he had began to scream. The power of their swords had already risen to a level comparable to 9th-circle magic.
Paaaaaaaah—!
Lines of light began to rise across the High Elf Queens’ skin. Shwaaaaaaaaah! The light that started at their navels spread upward toward their breasts and downward toward their most private areas and legs. Above, it reached their chests and wrapped around their entire breasts like tree branches spreading wide. Below, it rooted itself at their most intimate place, wrapping around their womanhood and coiling around their slender legs in radiant light.
Shluuuuuuurp—!
Sweat began to pour from their bodies like water, flowing down every curve. The droplets of sweat scattered in the air sparkled, revealing faint lines of light connecting them to something else. Those lines of light led to the colossal World Trees that surrounded the Great Cavity on all sides. The appearance of the World Trees was eerily similar to the light tattoos that had risen from the High Elf Queens’ bodies.
Paaaaaaaaaah!
The World Tree tattoos engraved on their bodies and the gigantic World Trees located in the High Elf Empire began to shine simultaneously. An enormous radiance burst forth from the bodies of all the High Elf warriors. This was proof that the spirit power of every High Elf was being drawn to its absolute limit, centered around the World Trees.
Were the High Elf Queens also the cores of those colossal World Trees? This is dangerous!
Paaaat!
The reinforced aura emanating from their spirit swords suddenly began to condense repeatedly, emitting light similar to divine power. I think I know what that is. They’re temporarily ascending to godhood!
No matter what the High Elf Queens did to strengthen themselves, as long as they remained living beings, they were still only at the level of 8th-circle masters. Whether through coordinated assault or a war of attrition against a group of nearly a billion sentient beings, they could never defeat a Demon King who had already reached the level of a high-ranking 9th-circle entity. Even though a Demon King could only use one-tenth of its power in the Middle World, it was already a high-ranking spiritual being. Moreover, it was a high-ranking spiritual entity capable of denying even the laws of the world—though limited to the natural realm.
So this was the answer to the question of how they had subjugated Demon Kings?
The High Elf Queens had gathered the vitality of all High Elves through the World Trees and, for a single instant, reached the level of a higher god to unleash a transcendent strike. They must have planted World Tree seeds inside their own bodies. Through those seeds, they are linked with the World Trees.
Even for High Elves, the World Tree would never tolerate having itself confined within a living being’s body. Yet the High Elf Queens were suppressing the World Tree’s rejection reaction with their incomparably strong bodies and mental power, using it in this manner.
If they fail to control the will of the World Tree seed inside their bodies for even a single moment, the World Tree will reclaim its original colossal form and tear their bodies to pieces. To do something this insane… As expected, they’re not to be underestimated.
