The Origin's Decree
The area surrounding the Dimension Creator God in the Otherworld War was currently fortified with hundreds of layers of boundaries and defensive authorities in preparation for an invasion from the Main Divine Realm.
Ziiing—! Ziiing—!
Yet, without interference from any dimensional authority or other magical barriers, the Magic God's direct line activated, and contact came through immediately. Only the Origin of the Mage God could make this possible. It was the absolute interference power that the Origin, source of all authorities, held over its lower bloodline. If the will behind an authority—not a personally trained ability—was strong enough, the Origin could even possess and manipulate a subordinate's body.
In the end, the one who had cut straight through all these defensive veils to make direct contact was none other than the Origin of the Wind Family, who had manifested his own future self to participate in the Ten Mainstays ranking war.
‘I can’t refuse him. The Origin of the Mage God intervened directly in reality and strengthened my authorities. I saw the benefits with my own eyes. On top of that, he completely stabilized my body that had been riddled with dozens of fatal wounds and rendered unstable by the Authority of Black Flame.’
Although some of his knowledge had been taken and exposed, he now understood that to an Origin of the Mage God who had reached the 14th circle and beyond, knowledge below the 11th circle held no value beyond mild curiosity. Rather, the grace of having his body on the verge of rampage stabilized and saved by the Authority of Black Flame was overwhelmingly great.
That was why the Dimensional Magic God opened the direct line himself and bowed his head with utmost respect.
A familiar divine power arrived after a brief pause. Since not even an appearance was shown, only a faint fighting spirit and emotion could be felt, he could only guess that the man was quite upset about suffering the lowest-rank defeat in the ranking war.
Even though he had manifested his future self to participate, it was still the Magic God's defeat. The Dimensional Magic God tensed up, wondering if the man was about to vent his anger over an already finished fight. It was unfair to him, but their perspectives differed too greatly for him to argue.
The question flew in without warning through the open direct line. The Dimensional Magic God frowned involuntarily as he recalled the incident a few days ago when he had answered Yuil Yongsinje's question and suffered for it. But lies would not work on this opponent.
The Origin of the Mage God was currently the only being who surpassed him as a mage, and there was no way to oppose him.
‘I can’t avoid it or run away.’
This was because the level of reality negation magic the Origin possessed far exceeded his own.
It was the natural answer for a mercenary god. After another brief silence, the reply came. The figure of a practitioner appeared—wearing light attire harmonized in white and black, a greatsword on his back, and a wooden sword in his right hand. It was the standard uniform of the Wind Family, similar to the attire and equipment of Jinri.
‘He even showed his face. His expression is ambiguous—whether he’s happy or angry. Strangely, right after finishing the ranking war, there isn’t a single injury visible on him.’
A ranking war against the Ten Mainstays couldn’t possibly have been that easy. The moment he thought it strange, a response dripping with disdain arrived.
The Dimensional Magic God tensed sharply at the curse-like words that followed his answer, but the next statement left him even more stunned. A faint smile appeared, immediately followed by praise.
The Dimensional Magic God spoke in utter disbelief.
The Origin of the Mage God’s reply was indifferent.
His expression suggested he was overjoyed to have received praise from the upper echelons of the Wind Family. However, when the Dimensional Magic God assessed his own situation, he felt like dying. He was already in trouble for being on the bad side of the eight Absolutes, and now he had driven a nail into the coffin. The lowest-ranking newcomer had wiped out an entire bloodline through self-destruction in the ranking war. It was only natural they would rampage, swearing to take revenge.
The Dimensional Magic God still could not accept the reality before him.
No matter how much of a reality-denying Magic God he was, self-destructing should have left enormous aftereffects even if he survived. Yet the man looked far too fine, and his divine power seemed completely unproblematic at over 1,000 trillion. But the answer that came from the Origin of the Mage God left his mouth hanging wide open.
Even if an ordinary god received every possible form of support, the limit was 100 million in ten thousand years. The Dimensional Magic God had scraped together every possible title, support as the Main God of the Divine Realm, and every loophole available, yet his current innate divine power was only 10 billion. To reach 10 billion in merely a hundred years would leave other gods speechless in shock, yet to the bloodline of Jinri it seemed utterly pathetic.
Of course, to the highest ruling race of the Absolute Realm who possessed units of 1,000 trillion, a mere unit of 10 billion was nothing. But it was 1,000 trillion.
‘The amount I stole by fighting the main forces of the 500th Master Universe was roughly 100 trillion.’
That amount alone was enough to make an entire Master Universe stagger, yet they spoke of replenishing it as casually as a grandchild receiving pocket money. The Dimensional Magic God was stunned by the hidden power of the Wind Family.
‘This is already insanely fast. Your talents and environment are simply abnormal. Do you have any idea how much we struggle just to obtain vitality in the billions? And you really did self-destruct—how are you so perfectly fine?’
Watching the Dimensional Magic God seethe with a mixture of frustration and doubt, the Origin of the Mage God began to scold him openly.
‘Self-destructing with your entire innate divine power and your whole body, then having no aftereffects at all—that is not common sense, it’s completely insane. How is that even possible?’
The Dimensional Magic God had not even self-destructed with his full innate divine power and entire body. He had only sacrificed part of his body and suffered tremendously from the aftermath of several maximum outputs. Only after the Origin of the Mage God had stabilized him was he barely able to regain his original strength. And that was only possible because he was a reality-negating Magic God. Had he been an ordinary god, he would have been forced into an unrecoverable slumber from the continuous injuries.
Yet a Magic God who had reached the ultimate state could suffer any wound in reality and emerge completely unscathed, as if waking from a dream.
‘As long as divine power is replenished, he can return to perfect condition at any time. That is no different from possessing infinite life.’
He instinctively realized this was a realm he could never reach. It was not a matter of effort, but of talent.
The lament that slipped out unconsciously was met with a response from the Origin of the Mage God.
Even against a highest bloodline member possessing 50 trillion, he had only managed to win after nearly 20,000 years of preparation, twisting the power of a Karma Contract made by an Absolute, and mobilizing every possible means.
‘Now that all my authorities and preparations are known, fighting again doesn’t guarantee victory.’
Yet he was being told to fight an Absolute of Black Flame who possessed 1,000 trillion in divine power and nearly perfected authorities. He wasn’t even sure he could approach, let alone fight.
Without his titles unlocked, he was merely a provisional Creator God with 10 billion in innate divine power, amplified by magic. That was a level that could be killed instantly even by the lowest bloodline.
‘And he wants me to fight right now. Even the future version of me—the Grey who reached the 14th circle with 1,000 trillion in divine power—couldn’t last long and had to self-destruct.’
The Dimensional Magic God was personally experiencing the saying that when one is too dumbfounded, the mind simply stops working. And the next words nearly made his blood pressure spike so hard he almost fainted.
The Dimensional Magic God’s entire body began to tremble violently.
‘Because of what I did in the war against the 500th Master Universe, the Main Divine Realm is on the verge of launching a subjugation force against me as a criminal. I’m desperately trying to reinforce my defensive forces before the subjugation army arrives, yet my future self has gone and stirred up trouble by claiming that the current me can win against the Absolute of Black Flame.’
This was no different from pushing him off a cliff to die. Not anyone else, but his own future self had done this.
‘I can never forgive him.’
The Origin of the Mage God nodded and immediately activated magic.
Wooooong—!
The figure of his future self, lightly dressed in a black robe, appeared in the air. Because of his record of self-destruction, he had not manifested directly into his physical body, but it was unmistakably him. His future self grinned mischievously and spoke with shameless ease.
The moment he uttered the activation phrase for the secret technique he had been preparing with everything he had, the magic was nullified before it could even manifest. His teeth ground together involuntarily.
‘I am at the 11th circle, and my future self is at the 14th. There is no comparison in magic activation speed or computational power, and forbidding lower magic is child’s play.’
He had momentarily forgotten that not only the Origin of the Mage God, but even his future self, was an opponent he could not handle. The man even offered advice with a detestable laugh.
“…….”
