The Descent of the Fallen Gods
The increase in maximum output came from absorbing a portion of the Creator Gods' divine spirits from the Spirit Realm War using the Guide of the Origin. It could not be returned. ‘Increasing my own power is the highest priority above all else. Aside from maintaining and improving my Karma, nothing comes first. In its current state, it has only limited uses. I cannot track the Spirit Gods of the Otherworld.’
The Cyber Realm would also find it fastest and easiest to report their location to him if they wanted to clean up the situation properly. But that stealth authority seemed to rival his own dimensional power, making it difficult to pinpoint. ‘No choice, then. I’ll have to create usable bodies for them as a baseline. However, aside from myself, there is still no force in the Divine Realm capable of stopping the normalized ones. Even if they’re weak by current standards, ten Upper Main Gods and Intermediate Main Gods could never hope to stop ten former Creator Gods who were once Origins of their clans. Instant full manifestation is impossible, but a limited, partial Intermediate Main God-level body that isn’t permanent should be feasible.’
Having become a Creator Candidate, he could now simultaneously deny reality twice by restricting it solely to things related to himself. His Karma level was sufficient, and he had more than enough mana. It was definitely possible. This was an improvement on the old Final Dark Magic, which had been overwhelmingly powerful yet riddled with fatal flaws.
The Guide of the Origin slammed into the ground with a deafening roar. Because this was his first attempt at this spell, he had focused every calculation on the magic to push it to maximum output.
A low, resonant hum filled the air. The eleven overlapping rings of divine power above his head expanded endlessly, drawing on an output exceeding 100 billion, and began interfering with reality. Then he began the true incantation.
‘It’s 11th circle, so I can’t skip any parts. I must be precise.’
"I praise the struggle for survival where anything but victory means death."
"O fallen Main Gods who lived desperately in their universe, harbored grudges, and perished—descend upon me now."
⟨ Advent of the Main Gods ⟩
It didn’t require that much mana, but after the partial improvement, the spell now had to remain active continuously. Still, it was worth the trade-off. For now, this was the strongest magic the Dimensional Lord could cast in his current state.
Advent of the Main Gods
Magic Type: Descent Magic / Chimera / Necromancy / Black Magic, Offensive, Manifestation
Effect: Provides bodies for the divine spirits of beings who were once Creator Gods and Origins of their universes but are now Main Gods, allowing them to descend. Originally the leaders of the highest divine races, they rebelled against the new strong-first policy enacted by the Creator of the Main Universe that encompassed their domain. They were annihilated along with their clans, stripped of their bodies, and exiled to the Spirit God Realm. There, they attempted another rebellion against the cruel treatment of forced vitality absorption and mandatory divine power labor, only to be permanently sealed. A Creator Candidate of Dimensions, drawn to their past creative power and Origin authorities, freed them—only for them to resist again and be forced into a contract. In the process, portions of their divine spirits were absorbed into the Guide of the Origin. Using this as a foundation, they inhabit specially tuned bodies and can wield all their past authorities. Because parts of their bodies are linked to the Guide of the Origin for control, and the bodies themselves are readjusted to suit them, they are freed from the Unique Survival restriction that plagued the doppelgangers of the old Final Dark Magic. The descended Main Gods can utilize the Dimensional Creator Candidate’s magic and authorities to the limit of their computational capacity through the Root School’s restricted knowledge sharing. Thanks to the similarity of their bodies, the parallel connection of divine power is also strengthened, turning them into an army of gods possessing unparalleled might.
Restriction: The magic must remain active to sustain the copied and adjusted bodies. If it ends, all body composition is canceled. They receive the Root School’s unique knowledge sharing but do not share the same body, so they have not reached the same realm. Their magic and authorities are restricted, and their strength varies according to the divine spirit of the descended Creator God.
‘Common Destiny. This fact alone ensures they cannot betray me.’
Of course, if someone offered them a far greater benefit, that might be different. But he would love to meet the insane Creator God who could offer these professional traitors of the Spirit Realm a better deal than this.
Seeing the Main Gods move their newly restored bodies here and there with ecstatic expressions, he let out a small chuckle. ‘If my magic stops and the power they just regained disappears, could they still look that happy?’
They would probably fall into even deeper despair and do anything to regain these bodies again. Giving them an unparalleled benefit no one else could match, while also offering protection—if he could do that, it was the first step toward true loyalty. And if losing him meant they would fall together, blind obedience would follow. They would fight while risking self-sacrifice.
‘At this point, there is no stronger 11th-circle magic than this. With their protection on the battlefield, I can take the time to chant properly. I can finally restore the power of my spells that had dropped due to lack of casting time. At the very least, I can survive even if I join a battle between Creator Gods.’
The Dimensional Lord had now gone beyond simply sharing benefits with them. They now shared losses as well. If he died, they would lose the fastest path back to their current power and original state. He, too, would lose the strongest magic he could devise as the Main God of the Divine Realm.
His senses, already at the level of a Creator God, could now faintly perceive not only the brilliant thirteen pairs of light wings but also the traces of the nearly transparent thirteen pairs he had originally possessed. This magic was not supposed to succeed so easily or produce such dramatic results, but Karma’s active support had maximized both the slim chance of success and its effect.
As the magic activated and the incomplete structure of the authorities was properly corrected, he revised it once more to make it perfect. This was why he placed such absolute importance on Karma—the only reliable standard—and desperately worked to raise it even at a disadvantage.
Yet the moment these beings regained even a fraction of their power, thoughts of rebellion seemed to surface again. ‘The way they’re secretly leaking fighting spirit and divine power toward me makes me want to sigh.’
For now, he had to locate and subdue the Spirit Gods of the Otherworld, so immediate punishment was out of the question. He quickly organized the situation, then spoke sharply as they grew arrogant with their returned power and authorities.
But the Spirit God Kings seemed utterly intoxicated by the Origin authorities they had regained and their strengthened bodies. They looked desperate to test their new power. It made sense. He had given them bodies based on a pure divine race physique exceeding 100 billion with no restrictions, then fine-tuned them exclusively for each of them. In terms of output, they were several times stronger than before. The only downside was that, not being Creator Gods, the number of authorities they could activate simultaneously was halved.
That was why they could not hide the fighting spirit directed at the Dimensional Lord, who possessed the same divine power. ‘They probably think that with ten of them and only one of me, there’s no way they can lose.’
Of course, considering how mercilessly he had beaten them and even severed their limbs to absorb parts of them just moments ago, it was impossible for them to feel no resentment. He briefly considered beating them again but held back, thinking of the Spirit Gods of the Otherworld whose contract connection was about to be completely severed. He exhaled.
Their blatant expressions of despair and disappointment made rage boil inside him again. On top of that, they had already learned how to read the room. Their fighting spirit vanished completely, replaced by polite, obedient faces that suggested they had never rebelled at all. ‘It really makes me sigh that I have to treat even these things with care. No, it’s so pathetic it makes my teeth grind.’
If a powerhouse like the Dimensional Lord had been born into the divine race, he would have become the successor to his clan’s Origin and walked a smooth path paved by everyone around him. But because he came from the Middle World, it had always been like this. The fact that his essence was human and that he originated as a dark mage was the eternal problem. Even Karma could do nothing about it.
Five massive images appeared in the air. The battle scenes shown within were anything but ordinary. A black-gold-haired man wearing a robe that radiated a mixture of the Dimensional Lord’s magic and divine power was engaged in brutal combat with the Spirit Gods of the Otherworld.
‘The solar divine power, having surpassed the Sun Goddess’s limits and gone into overdrive, is eroding dimensional space and burning the gods’ bodies.’
‘The trajectory of the sword swung from his hand strikes front, back, left, right, up, down, and even the hidden internal and external points simultaneously, carving them apart.’
The Dimensional Lord’s entire body was drenched in blood. The blood he shed evaporated without a trace, only to fuel the flames further. The sight of him charging forward with a seductive, devilish smile on his beautiful face while swinging his sword radiated killing intent far more terrifying than that of a Demon God. Even though he had been hit by magic and was covered in blood, he fully restored his body with solar divine power and was engaging the mage in close combat—his greatest weakness.
Every time the sword split into countless blades and swung, the Dimensional Lord’s evasive movements overlapped in a dizzying display, and their blood filled the screen. The horrifying fighting spirit and killing intent that radiated even through the images made the Spirit God Kings flinch and the Giant God Main Gods frown.
As five similar screens overlapped and the footage prepared to play, a voice rang out.
In the Spirit Realm of Creator God level, my dimensional authority as a Creator Candidate is restricted. Moreover, because they are originally Spirit Gods, they display maximum authority here and are currently deceiving even my connection as their contractor while moving. These images are battle scenes conducted under equal conditions, granted the highest combat power through my Dimensional Net for the sake of a fair contract. Since they have partially restored their bodies with my vitality, I judge that they have now reached at least Intermediate Main God level. However, if they had originated from the 499th Master Universe and grown with proper support, they possess the potential and authorities to be judged as having combat power at the Creator God level or above. Do not let your guard down for even a moment. Capture them without fail.
He stopped speaking. No—his surging emotions had momentarily left him unable to speak. Soon he regained control and spoke each word with emphasis.
If these strengthened beings leave the Spirit Realm and return to their original world, they possess enough power to casually destroy an ordinary planet. A Main God with a mere 2 billion divine power could never stop them. And their sole desire is the extermination of the gods and traitor believers who not only damaged their bodies but also exiled them to another world’s Spirit God Realm. They will also dispose of every related god and believer, then establish their own Divine Realm. Even the weak Creator God of their original world cannot stop a joint attack from them. If they return, at minimum an entire regional universe will be destroyed. In that case, Karma will hold me—currently in a contractual state with the Spirit Gods—jointly responsible.
What should have ended with simply extracting the Spirit Gods of the Otherworld had become incredibly complicated because the Cyber God—whether he was the administrator of the Cyber Realm who was supposed to help him or his enemy—had clumsily intervened.
‘He’s just an administrator of the Cyber Realm, a lower department that manages Karma. If something like this happens because of him, he would be immediately disposed of as a Substitute God. I don’t know where he finds the courage. The fact that he doesn’t realize administrators are watched more closely the higher they rise and are disposed of for even minor mistakes means he’s clearly a beginner. And the worst kind at that.’
Above all, from the perspective that administrators must be fair in their dispositions, exclude all personal gain and loss, and produce good results, he was a complete failure.
‘It’s only natural since I met him when Karma was evil, but now that I am aiming for “Absolute Good,” if a problem arises for me, he won’t escape unscathed either. To do something like this—he must be out of his mind.’
The glowing body in full divine power release state began to flicker from the intensity of his emotions. The Spirit God Kings who had just regained their original power groaned at the divine power wave that surpassed even a Creator Candidate when the magic was pushed to maximum output.
‘By past standards, that’s at least the highest grade of Highest Creator God or above—!’
‘Computational power that can overwhelm all of us, and magic authority capable of something like this… even a Creator General couldn’t ignore a powerhouse of that level, could he?’
‘And yet right now he’s only a Creator Candidate?’
‘Just what has the outside Master Universe turned into?’
The screen changed again. The Dimensional Lord’s figure appeared, his body being torn apart by something invisible that split space itself, then torn again by the aftershock.
‘It can’t even be perceived. The moment it approaches at ultra-high speed, it slices through everything, tangible or intangible.’
‘Its offensive power is enough to make one groan involuntarily.’
They immediately realized the transparent divine figure was using an authority of stealth that was nearly impossible to detect with any authority. In particular, the Highest Creator God who had once been the Origin of the Omnipotent Divine Race and its second-in-command unconsciously copied the authority and clicked his tongue at its complexity and power. The fact that the Omnipotent Divine Race—the pinnacle of authority copying—could only barely achieve complete replication of a Main God’s authority was astonishing.
And they clearly understood why they were needed.
‘Clearly, the only ones who can detect those runaway Spirit Gods wrapped in that authority from a long distance within the Spirit Realm are us, the Spirit God Kings.’
The moment they finished copying the authority and thought it would make excellent negotiation material, the next words and actions froze their entire bodies.
If such a situation occurs, I will abandon all of you—fellow Spirit Gods who received even greater support yet failed to stop them—as incompetent, hopeless weaklings. I will punish and dispose of you by any means necessary. I will also hold the Cyber Realm responsible for this incident. Those who try to cause me loss after I have gone through such hardship to reach “Absolute Good” will receive a disposition so severe that even death will seem enviable. I will make every last one of you pay a price far beyond that.
With a sharp hiss, the Guide of the Origin transformed back into its original needle form and pierced the Dimensional Lord’s forehead. Blood spurted out. Because its capacity had grown larger than before, it no longer fit properly. He had to force open the gap in his forehead and shove it in. When even the machine god body he had incorporated refused to accept it easily, he pressed it in further with his palm.
The horrifying sound of bone grinding against metal shook the minds of everyone watching. The Dimensional Lord, who had driven the Guide of the Origin into his own head, pressed a finger against his bleeding forehead to stop the bleeding and roared with a ferocious expression.
At the divine words filled with powerful will and ferocious emotion, the Giant God Main Gods and Spirit God Kings unconsciously used spatial movement to fly at full speed toward the detected locations.
