The Harem Misunderstanding
The Goddess Department would never have committed such rudeness if they had known the Dimensional and War God was a powerhouse of that caliber. In this brutal universe where the weak were culled through countless certification wars and only the strong survived, those who benefited the most were transcendent gods like themselves, blessed with extraordinary talent and authority. If he had not belonged to his current universe, a lower transcendent god with no faction to speak of would have been constantly checked by those around him and likely imprisoned in a containment facility. Having clawed his way up through desperate training and battles in his own universe, earning recognition solely through strength and endless promotions, his respect for the strong and hunger for power surpassed anyone else's.
‘If the Dimensional and War God had been in a universe that valued past stability, he would never have become a glorious High Lord. He would have been branded a rebel out of jealousy and checked for his exceptional strength, forced to wander instead.’
He had witnessed countless such cases in the past. The gratitude and respect he felt toward the one who had created a universe where someone with no background could earn recognition, who neither ruled nor dominated but simply existed as an unmatched powerhouse to sustain the universe itself, far exceeded any human faith in a god.
‘In his universe, the strong must be respected. If he ever gives the order, I am prepared to fight even if it means annihilation.’
Someone like him would never plot against the Absolute Beings he respected and revered above all. Yet this incident had begun because he had exhausted all his vitality to overcome the enhanced Substitute Gods supporting his direct lineage.
‘Vitality was so tight that I thought I might earn a little extra. I decided to help clean up the Divine Realm, notorious for those vicious goddess lords, and receive compensation in return. Of course, I had no idea the Dimensional Lord was an Absolute Being with a title.’
Vitality had been desperately scarce, and the subordinate Main God who suggested reorganizing this Divine Realm had once been killed by those goddess lords in the past, suffering a drop in divine rank. His earnest request had also played a part. If this matter ended well, he vowed to take measures against the possibility of making an enemy of the mighty Dimensional and War God through negligence in information gathering. He gritted his teeth and bowed respectfully.
“I am truly sorry, Dimensional and War God. I never intended to scheme against your strength. As compensation for this rudeness, I will offer the goddesses in the Spirit Waiting Station of my Divine Realm, along with the complete subordination of the goddesses in the containment facility, just as the mercenary corps of Demon God Star did. It is far from sufficient atonement for insulting a strong one, but I trust you understand the difficult circumstances of the Divine Realms exhausted from certification wars against the newly strengthened Substitute Gods. I ask for your leniency.”
Seeing the Dimensional and War God hesitate briefly at those words and stop enforcing the Karma Contract, he let out a sigh of relief inwardly.
‘Phew! They say he is an incredibly lustful god but only makes reasonable contracts that consider the other party. It really is true.’
His reputation was that he was completely different from ordinary powerhouses who sought overwhelming dominance through strength alone, and that he was trustworthy. In truth, the Dimensional and War God was frowning within the light of full divine power release.
‘If he bows his head and apologizes like that, there is no justification! As a High Lord, I should declare that I cannot tolerate such insult, sign the contract, and charge in to kill him and seize his divine power! If he does this, the Creator God will never hand over his Innate Divine Power to me! And why is he offering compensation on his own? Why only goddesses when there are already plenty here? If he is going to give them, he should at least throw in some transcendent gods and war gods. There are too few of them to dispatch, so I have to personally participate in battles everywhere. Does he not see that? More importantly, did word get out in the Main Divine Realm that I received female compensation for the mercenary battles on Demon God Star? His expression clearly says he is relieved he only has to hand over the management-type goddesses who are weak in combat.’
The gaze that clearly labeled him a lustful god made him feel indignant, but he was beginning to sense it was time to give up.
‘Without obtaining the Innate Divine Power of that High Lord, fighting will only result in losses. Everyone is on the verge of bankruptcy after exhausting their vitality in certification wars against the enhanced Substitute Gods, and they have no spare capacity. They even contributed additional vitality for the support reinforcement in this Main God War, so they are truly at rock bottom.’
The transcendent gods and war gods he needed most were not being offered because they were preparing for certification wars and battles against the Demon God Realm. Even if he had justification to wage a “Main God War,” if the other party did not consent, the damage and deaths in the Middle World caused by the aftermath of battle would become a Karma violation and accumulate directly upon him.
‘Even if I steel my heart and endure that to destroy the Main God of the Divine Realm and seize his Divine Realm, it will not work. Through the mediation of the Main Divine Realm, I would only receive a portion acknowledged as my damage before it is immediately handed over to the management gods.’
The mediation of the Main Divine Realm was a system created to prevent the overall weakening of the Main Divine Realm’s forces due to frequent wars between Main Gods. Of course, it was also a regulation established after countless male Main Gods had been killed by these goddess lords.
‘If I refuse this mediation, the Creator God will intervene directly. Given his endless grudge-holding nature, it will be difficult to gain any benefit.’
Insulting or threatening an ordinary Main God in the past would have ended with something like a single star. The insult toward a High Lord had occurred in the past before he became the Main God of the Divine Realm, and the current sincere apology meant no additional penalties applied.
‘If I ignore this apology and his best possible compensation and start a war, the positive impression I have built through various contracts of considering contract partners will collapse in an instant, aside from the negative perception of being a lustful god.’
Even as an Absolute Being with a title, good impressions were essential for him, a Middle World native with little influence in the Main Divine Realm.
‘Rumors of being a lustful god are no problem. Most Main Gods who possess Divine Realms keep many concubines anyway. Anything beyond that would be troublesome.’
No matter how strong one was, if only bad rumors circulated, one would be ostracized and eventually eliminated after constant conflicts with those around, just like these goddess lords. The only way to prevent that was to grow endlessly stronger and promote, but even that could not stop sudden incidents like this.
‘I have no choice but to accept this much.’
When he put away the Karma Contract that had been forcing the Main God War, the Main God reigning in the sky above brightened and approached with friendly words of praise.
“To accept an apology of this level, you truly have a good nature. I had heard rumors that despite being a lustful god, you are remarkably generous, and I am truly impressed. When I have the means, I will definitely offer further compensation and do my utmost to accommodate you in the Main Divine Realm. And to completely suppress the rebellion of those vicious, troublesome goddess lords and take them as concubines—truly remarkable! A major headache of the Main Divine Realm has now disappeared. Everyone was worried that once they returned as independent Main Gods possessing Divine Realms, they would wage war with their surroundings again. If someone stronger than any other Main God like you takes charge of managing them all, everything will go smoothly. I will speak to the Main Divine Realm as well and work to strengthen support for this Divine Realm. I hope we can help each other and stay on good terms from now on. The compensation for this apology will be sent immediately, so take them whenever you wish.”
“Concubines? Who?”
At the sudden shocking remark, he stood dumbfounded. As if fearing his mind might change, a movement gem directly connected to the Spirit Waiting Station flew through space, and the screen closed. Engraved upon it were the list of goddesses being transferred under complete subordination and the subordination contract itself.
‘Roughly five hundred upper and middle-ranked goddesses.’
Having died and dropped one circle in divine rank, they had once been top-tier and upper-ranked. They had won certification wars and become Main God Stars, but due to lack of vitality and failure to join any faction, they had not been revived. More important, however, were the words spoken at the very end.
‘What in the world does that mean? The goddess lords are my concubines? Who decided that, and when? And what exactly is he going to tell the Main Divine Realm?’
Once the screen vanished and the enemy’s figure disappeared, the goddess lords could be seen releasing their divine power in a state of exhaustion after full divine power release. Their dresses, torn to shreds by the fully deployed divine power rather than remaining proper garments, left their extremely voluptuous breasts and hips exposed without any defense, nearly naked. Yet none of the goddess lords paid any attention to it.
‘Unable to contain their anger, they panted heavily for a long while before finally collapsing onto the sofa, resting their faces on the table as one began to sob. Soon all of them burst into loud wailing.’
A High Lord, one of the few in the galactic Divine Realm, had called them, the strongest among ordinary Main Gods, a source of trouble for the Divine Realm. Furthermore, they were being treated as unforgivable, vicious criminals whose Innate Divine Power would be seized to turn them into lower spirits. They had already known the Main Divine Realm was wary of them and had confirmed it through the words and actions of the High Lord who came as messenger, but learning that measures would be taken to forcibly reclaim all their Innate Divine Power caused their despair and the series of unbearable events that had occurred today to shatter their solid pride and reason.
The management-type goddess lords were also in shock and not in their right minds.
‘Being part of a messed-up Divine Realm means we get the same treatment.’
This was a situation where their very survival as Main Gods of the Divine Realm was threatened even before independence.
‘We never went around killing male Main Gods indiscriminately, yet we are treated the same.’
The management goddess lords were filled with injustice and anger they could not endure. Seeing the goddess lords begin to sob and weep before him while nearly naked, the Dimensional Lord felt nothing but extreme awkwardness.
‘I only meant to warn them to be careful and work hard after hearing the surrounding perceptions of the Divine Realm, so how did it come to this? And what kind of malicious rumor is going to spread because of this incident? Those goddess lords as concubines? Who could possibly handle that? Before that, they have the pride of having once been Main Gods of Divine Realms themselves, so they would never agree.’
