Forging the Moon of the Origin
In the midst of the Great Forest War, at the Magic God of Dimensions' command, a miniature sun roughly one kilometer in diameter materialized in the empty space above the highest level of the magic tower, shifting through space itself.
“Ah—! It's hot!”
“What the hell? Is this your doing again?”
The Spirit Gods floating near the ceiling scrambled downward as the sudden sun blazed overhead, encircling the Light Spirit God. Yet the usually haughty goddess, who had always fanned herself while spitting venomous remarks, now stood frozen with an oddly pale expression. Watching the dark mage's hands move intricately beneath the sun, they grasped the situation at once. Their contractor was manipulating the miniature sun with his mana, guiding it into position.
“He's summoning and controlling a miniature sun?”
“Well, that explains how he managed to contract with that foul-tempered Sun God.”
The Spirit Gods of the otherworld had never encountered anyone daring to openly insult one of their own kind, so they remained oblivious to the fact that calling another Spirit God foul-tempered was essentially spitting on their own faces.
Meanwhile, the Sun Spirit God was utterly dumbfounded. How dare he summon a sun greater than my own? This is absurd. The appearance of a sun with output beyond even her divine authority left her speechless. The Wolf God, who had once been dragged into a sibling quarrel after the Sun God had boasted excessively about her power—only to nearly suffer complete annihilation of half her body—stood with her mouth agape, unable to close it. That's genuine solar authority! This Magic God can annihilate even an Intermediate God's body.
A mortal-born Magic God was wielding the terrifying power of the sun, capable of erasing even gods, albeit on a miniature scale. From now on, I must obey my master without biting. Being struck is far preferable to annihilation. That was the Wolf God's survival-driven conclusion.
The Light Spirit God examined the miniature sun, confirming it was slightly unstable yet real. As the direct descendant of a Main God whose original divinity had been solar, she felt a momentary disorientation seeing her contractor wield solar authority directly, but quickly regained her composure. It is no ordinary sun. Yet its output is truly astonishing. The extreme heat and speed of light generated by solar authority could overwhelm gods of other attributes by a full stage. I grew tense when my contractor began handling solar authority on his own, but his control remains crude.
Even so, it was undeniably solar authority. This restored her pride that no other Spirit God surpassed her, while simultaneously stirring desire. His mastery is hardly worthy of being called solar authority. Yet to generate a sun and adjust its output as well? For a Magic God, he is remarkably capable. She observed the dark mage beneath her feet, who occasionally glanced up at her while deftly working his hands, gradually reshaping the newly born miniature sun. This Magic God has not abandoned his human body and has nearly sealed his divinity, refusing to fully convert into a Light God. He possesses extraordinary talent and would be worth obtaining by any means necessary.
The Light Spirit God's tyrannical desire for domination and glory as a God King made her body tremble. How long has it been since I felt an emotion this intense beyond mere anger? Though small, I could become the only national god to claim a Sun God as a subordinate deity. She imagined returning triumphantly to the otherworld's divine realm, the Sun God at her feet, while the continental gods looked up in awe. Whether from the influx of vitality or not, blood surged from her heart, heating her entire body until she felt a faint climax. With her left hand, she snapped open her fan to cover her face, leaving only her eyes visible as her heartbeat quickened. Even the gold-embroidered garments and jeweled adornments that once decorated my body suddenly seem dull. The only treasure in this world is this Magic God with his human body and vast abilities.
She had always obtained whatever she desired through any means available, and she was certain this time would be no different. Even by force, I shall purify the vile black mage's body and make it mine. Every Spirit God noticed the Light Spirit God gazing at the dark mage still adjusting the sun with the eyes of a predator eyeing its prey.
That crazy bitch is at it again.
Yeah, just smash her to pieces this time too.
Almost nothing the Light Spirit God had ever desired had come to her intact through her excessively violent methods. Knowing this well, the other Spirit Gods could only offer their support. This time, we'll cheer you on with everything we've got.
Whoosh! Once the sun had fully settled into the central space of the magic tower, the Magic God of Dimensions steadied his breathing and tightened his focus once more. Everything has gone according to plan so far, without incident. From here on, even I, a 10th-circle Magic God, cannot guarantee success. This is uncharted territory. Light granted vitality to plants and animals, enabling them to produce vitality, but excess caused adverse effects. He needed darkness to block the light and allow rest, along with a moon to stabilize the overactivated life responses. In the otherworld, they rotate entire residential structures in space or open and close ceilings to block light, creating night and day. Herein lay the problem with a science-only otherworld. The humans of the otherworld who ventured into space continue to weaken physically, yet they do not know the exact cause. They mistook the shortening of their lifespans—due to the absence of lunar vitality—for mere muscle atrophy in zero gravity. To resolve this, the creation of a moon was necessary.
If only that Moon Goddess would share even a fraction of her authority, this would be trivial. The moment he considered attacking the Light Spirit God, he felt a gaze and immediately saw the Moon Goddess aiming her bow at his forehead. He abandoned the idea at once. With her silver hair flowing to her feet and cold metallic arrows trained on him, the sense of crisis surpassed even the combined assault of the High Elf Queens. If even a single arrow of that monstrous divine power struck the center of my circle—my forehead—I would die, even as I am. He could only resent his past self for contracting with her without thorough verification, captivated by the silver light faintly visible between the World Tree's leaves, her skin, and her gravity-defying breasts and hips. Among the Spirit Gods, the ones consuming the most vitality are that scheming Wolf God and the Moon Goddess who lives without a single thought.
The maximum vitality absorption of Spirit Gods was nearly fixed. Yet no matter how many times the Magic God of Dimensions checked, one extra share was being consumed. Upon investigation, he discovered that the Wolf subordinate god performed most of the work while the Moon Goddess contributed nothing, merely siphoning vitality. Furthermore, learning that she invested the overflowing vitality—gained by taking the maximum share—primarily into her appearance left him even more exasperated. A Spirit God pouring such meticulous care into her own appearance and body, which no one else even looks at? What is she even trying to achieve? Feeling thoroughly ignored, he spat out his usual venom.
Most of her lines went like this:
“How dare a vile, lowly black mage like you look at me with those filthy eyes?”
“That shabby robe of yours seems to need some decoration.”
“Shall I turn you into a honeycomb with my arrows?”
“Stop spouting nonsense and offer more vitality.”
“Hmph! Filthy thing. You're making my eyes dirty—don't come close enough for me to see you.”
She hurled insults with genuine contempt, yet among the divine races, few goddesses matched her beauty. She possesses peerless looks that could only be found among Main Gods or higher. Any male god obsessed with women would have risked their life for her. Yet she was said to be a true virgin goddess who had never once dated a man. With a healthy body that stirs male desire, training and fighting alongside her on the battlefield would inevitably lead to something between man and woman. But she has never dated any male god and has instead beaten or even killed over ten who approached her. In the end, all male gods gave up, either staring at the ground or fleeing at the sight of her from afar—a virgin land indeed.
He had not known this past at first, and even the Dark Spirit, who had heard the sordid histories of the other Spirit Gods, had hesitated with a strange expression, unable to speak. “Extreme lesbianism, sadism, egoism, and narcissism? This is insane.” Any one of these conditions would have been too much to handle; combined, they were severe enough to warrant immediate confinement in a mental institution if she were human. Yet the four traits balanced each other so exquisitely that she appeared perfectly normal on the surface—that was the real problem.
The Chief God of the God Realm's thorough protection, the patronage of the highest-ranking divine family, and even the expedient of forcibly converting a divine beast into an Intermediate God as a subordinate for constant surveillance were all employed to prevent this truth from leaking out. There had been a reason why, in the otherworld, a Main God-level deity—extremely rare—was sent to the Spirit Realm without being revived. Even the Chief God of the God Realm had tried to discard her like a child of no worth, attempting to annihilate her entirely, only to be persuaded by her family's desperate pleas to send her here to the Spirit Realm instead. That was the past of the Earth Spirit God. Among the Spirit Gods, the one with the worst mental issues is the Earth Spirit God. She threatens me every time I make even the smallest request, saying she would rather be annihilated than share power with a vile black mage. It's absurd. She provides no help whatsoever yet consumes more than twice the usual vitality—better off without her.
I really need to research a way to summon that scheming Wolf God separately someday. That Wolf God is famous for being ready to switch sides at any time if you throw her a few bones. Still, it's better than summoning both at once. Honestly, creating the sun would have been unnecessary if the Light Spirit God had shared even a little of her authority. But she was so uncooperative that refusal was obvious, leaving him no choice. Damn it! Did I destroy a world in my past life or something? My sighs over this cursed fate keep increasing. No matter what it takes, I must overturn this karma and live happily, comfortably, and quietly alone. I have no choice but to create the moon myself, but it's not like this is the first time something like this has happened. I'll just do it.
The Magic God of Dimensions drew out his authority to the fullest to create the moon.
“Clash Planet.”
Magic Type: Space Magic, Area-of-Effect Attack
Effect: Gigantic Meteor could not guarantee the caster's safety by destroying the planet itself, and regular meteors could only destroy a radius of about ten kilometers. Deeming the power too low, the protagonist conceived this magic during his attempts to increase its power without destroying stars. It destroys the outer crust of a star without annihilating the star itself. The implementation is similar to Meteor—it summons a planet—but instead of dropping it through the atmosphere, it obliquely collides two stars' surfaces, rolling and rubbing them together through friction. Though relatively slow, it can completely devastate a planet's surface. Currently, it is also used for Adamantium production.
Restriction: Cannot be manifested without dimensional authority or by ordinary mages below the 10th circle.
After first manifesting it, the protagonist muttered, “Somehow, this reminds me of that game where you flick marbles.”
Rumble! The Magic God of Dimensions spread both hands wide to either side. His fingers curled as if grasping orbs, and the converging mana vanished between his palms.
Whoosh! The Survival Magic Tower glowed golden once more, drawing in the demonic energy of the Great Cavity and concentrating it upon the Magic God of Dimensions. I can see the star I aim to use for the moon's creation. It was a young planet without any moons yet, its crust formed but still burning with flames. How was the moon created? Why does such a massive star exist in that exquisite position, neither pulled into the star's gravity nor flung outward? Is this truly coincidence? The Magic God of Dimensions had never concerned himself with it, as the moon had existed from the beginning by divine will, but the otherworld's knowledge, which denied gods, had begun from such questions. In our world, where gods descend to perform miracles and wage war against the demon race, we would call it the will of the gods. But the otherworld, having lost faith and with priests unable to perform even simple healing, found a different answer. Science, that supernatural ability, had opened a completely different perspective for him and allowed him to reach the 10th circle, though he did not fully understand their conclusions. Still, they had shared the theory they considered most credible. Their theory on creating a moon is difficult to prove directly. However, I—who wield omnipotent magic, though not omnipotent myself—can do it.
Even the highest-ranking Moon Spirit God among the moon deities had been contracted, allowing him to thoroughly analyze lunar authority in secret. Having concluded it was possible once uncertain factors were eliminated, he was now attempting it. If I fail this time, I can simply adjust and try again. After all, have I not lived my entire life attempting things? He seized a planet of similar size with his mana.
Shuaaaak! Mana within his right hand was sucked in at a frenzied pace. He accelerated the stationary planet with mana, directing it toward the target star. It must not collide head-on, nor must it bounce off. The goal is not to destroy the star, but merely to rub away part of its surface so that the resulting heat and pressure produce the desired components. What he sought was Adamantium—the finest metal spoken of by the dwarven blacksmiths of the underworld, obtained in minuscule quantities from stars struck by meteors, and capable of earning the title of divine armament even when added in small amounts to weapons. Its purpose is the mass production of Adamantium, which possesses supreme hardness and strength on its own while also emitting vitality to strengthen all living beings. The reason lunar authority was comparable to solar authority was because the moon contained enough Adamantium—on the scale of a small planet—to emit vitality independently. A moon containing self-vitality-emitting Adamantium is the source of vitality that strengthens all life on the planet.
Hum! The stars in space drew closer. Space warped under their mutual gravity, and violent waves spread through the soundless void. The burning crust of the planet erupted, lava soaring skyward.
Rumble! As the vast surfaces of the enormous stars rubbed together, they generated heat surpassing even the sun for a single moment. At the point of contact, silver metal began to form. Even amid the fragments of the planet being destroyed and scattered by the colliding silver metal, the substance began to coalesce with fierce intensity. Adamantium, which forms in minuscule quantities during the brief instant of extreme heat when a meteor collides with the ground, is produced in massive quantities during the stars' grazing process. Nearly a quarter of each planet's surface was mutually destroyed, and the resulting fragments and Adamantium began to spread thickly through space. The remaining debris, drawn by the planets' mutual gravity, lingered in the cosmos.
Now the stars sought to separate after grazing one another. Time Stop! The Magic God of Dimensions hastily cast time magic, freezing both stars in place. The quantity of Adamantium generated by their grazing was enormous, comparable in size to a moon. Crackle! Crackle! Yet as the precious Adamantium lost its heat, portions of it began to rapidly discolor. This was why Adamantium was so rare. As the heat exceeding the sun's temperature cools, all but an extremely compressed fraction reverts to ordinary rock. That is why, whenever a meteor falls nearby, the dwarves rush to that location no matter what. They must risk death to thoroughly search the remnants of the hot moon if they hope to obtain even a fist-sized piece of Adamantium. This was Adamantium ore. The dwarves had long wondered why even this hard-won Adamantium ore mostly vanished during quenching and refining, but of course they had no way of knowing. When material temporarily formed at such extreme temperatures is reheated at lower temperatures, the barely stabilized composition collapses, causing loss. To prevent this, it must be processed at temperatures rivaling the sun itself. He had no intention of sharing this knowledge. Even if I told them, processing at such extreme temperatures would be impossible even for the dwarves. And even if they succeeded, they would only use it to forge weapons to kill me—have I gone mad? Leaving behind armaments inscribed with their own names, forged from Adamantium obtained from hundreds of meteors, was the dwarves' greatest glory.
In the brief moment he pondered this, he gathered every last refined lump of Adamantium without missing a single piece, scraping clean every trace clinging to the planets. Still, calling me ruthless for a god? If I handed the dwarves even a fingernail-sized piece of Adamantium, they would probably offer me a massive gold mine in exchange. In fact, there have been cases of humans who were extraordinarily lucky enough to obtain Adamantium trading it for mountains of jewels. Because the value of an armament forged from even a fingernail-sized piece of Adamantium was comparable to an entire human kingdom. It could transform an ordinary human into a superhuman capable of overwhelming a 7th-circle master, and it held immense value even to the divine races. With such a treasure fluttering before my eyes, how could I—an man who must live alone—not have my eyes roll back in my head?
Papapap! Zzzzzzt! Desperately maintaining Time Stop, he gathered all the Adamantium before it could transform and merged it into one. Excessive magic use has left me dizzy, as if my head might burst. The mana required for this already exceeds what would be needed to recklessly fire off 10th-circle spells. No wonder even Main Gods never dared attempt it and instead sought out planets where moons formed naturally to establish their divine realms. But I must do this. The moon I desire is by no means one that will naturally disappear. Like the Sun of the Origin, it is the Moon of the Origin that will eternally provide mana. Ordinary quantities of Adamantium would never suffice. After contact ceased and the two planets stopped, he gathered the Adamantium with mana between them, concentrating it until a silver-glowing moon took shape.
Flash! The moon, composed entirely of pure Adamantium, shone brilliantly with silvery light and began radiating mana. Then he began compressing the Adamantium moon once more with a dimensional barrier.
Hum! Boom! The amount of mana emitted by the moon began to explosively amplify once again, and mana consumption likewise increased exponentially. Compressing Adamantium, which surpasses all metals in strength and hardness, is incomparable to compressing gas. The Magic God of Dimensions' 10th-circle mana repeatedly hit rock bottom and refilled. After desperately compressing it, a moon approximately one kilometer in diameter, radiating terrifying mana, appeared. He slowed it once more with time magic until it emitted mana at the level of an ordinary moon. To experience mana depletion inside my own magic tower in the Great Cavity? It consumed more than ten times the expected mana. That was dangerous. But I succeeded.
Though he would need to adjust it by mimicking the Moon Goddess's authority, he had created a moon that generated infinite mana. Intense emotion made his entire body tremble, and the vitality and mana generated by the moon rapidly healed him. Whoosh! Now, instead of the pure mana rising from the Great Cavity, pure vitality of life began healing his body.
“Come forth. My Moon of the Origin—I welcome you with all my heart.”
