The Slave Contract (1)
The same system message that had appeared when I partnered with Seunghee flashed before us once more.
You may select one of the following three partnership types.
1. Replace Main Partner.
2. Register Sub-Partner.
3. Register Slave.
Kaylee tilted her head, blond hair sliding over one shoulder.
“Slave?”
It was clearly a mutter meant for herself. Yet the terminal answered anyway, its synthetic voice calm and helpful.
Slave is one form of partnership.
Slaves face stricter restrictions but earn significantly more coins.
Slaves cannot access the shop. All earned coins are restricted to the resurrection of the deceased or the escape menu.
Changing partnerships consumes coins.
“Huh? For real?” Seunghee blurted from beside me, eyes wide.
The word “slave” carried an ugly weight at first. But the promise of higher coin income made it strangely tempting—for both of us.
“Please explain in more detail,” Kaylee said politely.
I wondered who exactly she was asking, but the terminal responded again without hesitation.
A Slave faces stronger restrictions than other partnerships.
The four of us sat around the dining table, listening intently as the terminal continued.
The restrictions placed on a Slave are as follows:
1. Cannot use the shop with a personal terminal.
2. Must obey the Master’s commands.
3. Any harm inflicted on the Master or their partners will result in a massive deduction of held coins.
4. Killing the Master or their partners will result in total confiscation of coins and severe penalties.
I got the picture. A Slave had to rely entirely on the Master’s coin income. Everything they earned went straight into savings for resurrection or escape. They had to obey orders, and attacking the Master or his partners triggered harsh punishment.
That last part was the most important to me.
In exchange for these restrictions, a Slave earns more coins.
The coin acquisition formula for Master and Slave is as follows:
Coins earned are split evenly between Master and Slave.
The Master receives only half of their share.
The Slave receives double their share.
I’ve never been much of a student, yet everyone was staring at me like I was supposed to translate it.
“Han Seunghee. You’re the one who studied hard, right?”
“Huh?”
“Did you understand what it just said?”
“Well… um…”
She dodged the question with an awkward hum. I had no choice but to explain my own interpretation.
“So if they earn 100 coins total, it gets split 50-50 first. Then the Master ends up with 25 coins while the Slave gets 100?”
Correct.
That meant the Slave received 100% while the Master only got 25%. Together they earned 125% of the base amount. The Slave took home more overall, but they couldn’t spend any of it. They could only hoard it.
For someone like Kaylee, desperate to resurrect her son Noah, it could be a good deal. For the Master, depending on just 25% of the income might feel suffocating. After all, the Master could treat the Slave exactly like… well, a slave.
I asked a few more questions and the terminal answered every one without resistance. If I’d known about this helpful feature earlier, life on the island would have been a lot easier.
After confirming the Sub-Partner formula as well, the advantages and disadvantages of each contract became crystal clear.
“Heh. Sounds nice. Maybe I should’ve gone with Slave too,” Seunghee muttered beside me.
She wasn’t wrong. It really might have suited her. But I shot her down immediately.
“No way. That would cut my own coins in half.”
I said it loud enough for Kaylee to hear, carefully planting the idea that the Slave contract was advantageous for her but disadvantageous for me.
Changing partnerships will consume half of current coins—1,138 coins. The minimum required is 1,000 coins. Proceed?
Seunghee, who had seemed half-tempted, immediately refused the moment the system demanded such a huge sum.
“So you’ve got 2,276 coins right now, Seunghee?”
“Yep.”
“That’s a lot.”
“About 2,200 a week… If I’d been a Slave it would’ve been two and a half times that. Maybe 5,500?”
“You could’ve resurrected Seungpil in just two weeks. Though I would’ve gotten fewer coins.”
“Come on, how much less could it be? Don’t be such a cheapskate.”
“What did you just call me?”
I pinched her cheek and stretched it. Even while playing around, my attention stayed locked on Kaylee.
My suspicion toward her hadn’t completely vanished. Living together probably wouldn’t erase it either. I’d always have to worry about a knife in the back.
That was exactly why I needed this safety measure—a system-enforced restraint that would stop Kaylee from harming us.
“Kaylee. What would you like to do?”
She still seemed to be thinking it over.
“Just so you know, you can’t be the Main Partner. And since Seunghee is already my Sub-Partner, it would be fair if you became one too, right?”
I gently pushed her toward the Sub-Partner option, knowing full well she would choose differently.
“I… If possible… I would like to become a Slave…”
Just as I expected.
“Hmm. A Slave, you say.”
I folded my arms and pretended to consider it carefully.
“That would mean I only receive 25% while still having to cover all your coin needs… That’s a bit…”
On paper, Kaylee would receive 100% of her share and could save every coin. She would resurrect Noah much faster. It looked like a great deal for her alone.
But in truth, it was exactly what I wanted too.
“I will work hard to earn as much as I receive. Please allow it,” Kaylee said, bowing her head once more.
“That’s right, Changjae. If coins run low, Mom will work extra hard, okay?” Mom added from the side, helping plead Kaylee’s case.
Perfect.
“Haa… If even Mom is asking me like that… All right. We’ll go with Slave.”
I nodded as if I were granting a generous favor.
“Thank you!” Kaylee’s face lit up with genuine joy. Mom smiled warmly beside her.
And inside, I smiled too.
This single conversation had netted me several advantages.
First, my family’s safety was now guaranteed. Kaylee wouldn’t risk losing every coin she had by betraying us.
That was the most crucial point of the Slave contract.
Second, Kaylee now owed a debt of gratitude to me, Mom, and Seunghee. I had accepted a contract that disadvantaged me. Mom had taken her side. Seunghee had allowed the newcomer to take the more profitable Slave position.
If Kaylee still had a conscience, she wouldn’t be able to act recklessly.
Finally, I had seized the initiative in our sexual relationship.
Even if we had sex, I would only receive 25% of the coins. Kaylee would get 100% to save for Noah. That meant I could refuse her whenever I wanted, citing lack of coins. She, on the other hand, would have to actively beg for it if she wanted to resurrect her son quickly. The power balance in our intimacy now rested firmly in my hands.
Oh, and one more thing.
The clause that said ‘A Slave must obey the Master.’
Neither of us knew the exact details. It could be nothing more than a polite suggestion, or it could be absolute compulsion that forced her body to obey. Either way worked for me. The latter would be even better.
And since neither of us understood the full scope, she couldn’t blame me later. It was flawless.
Good job, Seunghee. I whispered to her mentally.
“Heh? What did I do?”
She blinked at me with a blank, innocent face. So she really had been playing the perfect foil without even realizing it. The girl truly hadn’t been thinking at all.
Male Player Kang Changjae has requested Slave registration. Do you consent?
I tapped my terminal. A moment later, Kaylee’s device chimed.
Female Player Kaylee Wilson has consented to Slave registration.
Now came the part where we exchanged the oath with a kiss. I’d been a little lost with Seunghee, but this time I knew exactly what to do.
♪
The oath of devotion will now be exchanged. As a Slave, devote yourself fully.
Slave, serve your Master until he can ejaculate. Master, finish on the Slave’s face and mark her directly with your semen.
“…Yes?”
