The Vampire Lord of the Gestell Family (1)
Living among people teaches you basic manners. Don't run the washing machine at night, don't smoke indoors, don't run around. In a world where we coexist, observing these courtesies is the bare minimum to avoid unnecessary friction. Don't go to someone else's house in the middle of the night and cause a scene. This, too, is basic etiquette. If you grabbed any demon and asked them, they’d tell you the same thing.
And yet.
“I told you to come out! Are you all asleep? You idiots!”
What kind of upbringing did this woman outside have to be shouting so loudly? It was well past midnight. Yulia seemed to be completely out of it, having reached climax several times already. She was in full-on deep-sleep mode.
“Guess I have to go.”
There was no other way. I had considered calling the guards to chase her off, but the energy I felt radiating from her was significant. If her presence was strong enough to be felt from this distance, she was clearly no ordinary enemy.
I threw on some clothes and jumped from the window.
Thud!
“Kyaaak!”
The woman who had been causing a ruckus in front of the door screamed and landed hard on her backside.
“W-what are you doing! How dare you, this great vampire….”
“You’re the one causing a scene at someone else’s house. What is your problem?”
“What?”
I looked at the woman sitting on the ground. She had shimmering blonde hair. She was a little over 160cm tall, and her chest was small enough that people might argue whether it was a full A-cup or a B-cup. Her blood-red eyes glowed as she glared at me. It was a blatant gaze. I knew that look well—the look of someone who completely underestimated their opponent.
“Do you have any idea what time it is? It’s past midnight. Isn’t this the time when all living things should be asleep, the time when there’s an implicit agreement not to do anything?”
“W-what are you talking about! It’s broad daylight for us vampires!”
“…Vampire?”
Only then did I notice the fangs protruding from the corners of her lips.
“You’re a vampire?”
She was nothing like the vampires I knew. Weren't vampires supposed to be demons with skills to bewitch their opponents, similar to succubi? I had expected them to have voluptuous figures, but this woman….
‘A bit petite.’
Not that she was as small as a child. She definitely had curves in the right places. She was attractive, sure. It seemed my standards had just become too high lately.
‘Well, I am surrounded by women with continent-class beauty.’
Sage, Vivian, and even Frederike, who had no interest in dressing up, were all stunners. Seeing women like that every day, it was only natural that she wouldn't quite satisfy my eyes.
“Yes! Do you recognize me now! I am the great vampire….”
“I get that you’re a ‘great vampire,’ but I’m asking why you’re here causing a scene at someone else’s home.”
“H-how insolent!”
She gnashed her sharp teeth.
“Don’t interrupt me! How rude!”
“…”
She clenched her fists, looking like she was about to strike me. What a troublesome creature. I was tempted to give her a flick on the forehead and kick her out, but….
‘A flick won’t be enough to end this.’
I gauged her power. She was on par with me. No matter how many times I simulated it, the result was the same. She was a vampire with strength similar to mine. It made me wonder if vampires were always this strong. I thought of Ariana, who had been reborn as a half-vampire because of me. Her combat ability was pathetic. That was probably because she was half-human, but overall, vampires had seemed like weak demons to me.
“Ahem! To explain from the beginning, I am Frey of the Gestell family, the great vampire clan….”
But why was this woman able to exert such power? She was even shorter and flatter-chested than Ariana. I pinched the vampire’s cheek.
“Aaaak! Let go! You insolent bastard, my cheek is stretching!!!”
It stretched smoothly, like a well-steamed rice cake. Her skin was soft, and it wasn't like she had a large chest or anything.
“Kyaaak!”
I lightly lifted her clothes. She was wearing a bra with pink hearts on it. Her taste was a bit… well, that.
She had to be quite old if she was a vampire. To think she’d have such a childish design.
“W-what are you doing right now!”
Maybe her fangs were different? I pried her mouth open to inspect them.
Flail, flail.
“You heh-oh, let go of me!”
The vampire resisted, swinging her small fists wildly. Hmm, maybe she captured her opponents with cuteness. Since they were a race that got stronger by drinking blood, maybe she dug traps and killed enemies who let their guard down.
“That makes sense.”
“What is that supposed to mean! You insolent jerk!”
She kicked my shin.
Crack!
“Kyaaak!”
She kicked me, only to grab her own foot and scream.
“Y-yikes!!! Why is your leg as hard as stone….”
“I guess you aren't the physical type. Are you a mage?”
“You jerk! Listen to me!”
I had a rough idea of the vibe. This vampire. She had clearly grown by focusing on magic to bewitch her opponents rather than physical prowess. I was curious about her fighting style, but I had no intention of fighting to the death. I already had enough enemies; there was no need to add another.
“My apologies. What did you say your name was?”
“Hey!!!! You son of a bitch!!!”
I don't know why she was shouting.
“My introduction was late. I am the Demon King. I rule as the King of the Dungeon Kingdom. I don't have much else to introduce myself with. I don't have a name or anything. You can just call me Demon King. What is your name?”
“…You crazy bastard.”
The vampire cursed at me as I held out my hand. What is this? Why is she so rude?
“I’m offering a greeting and you curse? Was your upbringing that disastrous?”
“That’s my line! I told you my name several times and you didn't even listen, and now what?”
She bared her fangs and growled.
“Hmm…. Did I? My apologies. I was deep in thought. Since we’ve both made a mistake, it would be best if we forgave each other.”
“What? What mistake did I make?”
“Didn't you come to someone else’s castle in the middle of the night and cause a ruckus? And you woke me up, which is quite annoying. Think of how many people you’ve woken up because of you….”
“Who else woke up besides you?”
The vampire looked at me and smirked, her eyes strange. Why was it so quiet? She had been screaming so loudly, yet no one had woken up. Yulia, maybe. If she’d reached climax dozens of times and fainted, she’d be exhausted. But what about the others? Even Sage hadn't woken up. I looked up at the capital dungeon. All the lights were out. No one had stirred.
“You….”
“You finally realized?”
Hmph! The vampire snorted.
“You… what did you say your name was?”
“Finally feel like listening?”
“Yes.”
“Frey of the Gestell family, the great vampire clan, known as the progenitor of vampires. Some call me the Vampire Lord.”
Vampire Lord? Why is a boss-tier character appearing here?
“Ahem!”
As soon as she saw my surprised expression, she puffed out her small chest and huffed.
“Do you know now! You ignorant fool! You dared to touch and mock the body of the Vampire Lord. You even… my chest….”
Frey, unable to finish her sentence, turned bright red.
“Hmph! Hiss! Hey! You pervert!!!”
She kicked my shin again.
“Ouch!!!”
What is with this girl?
I brought Frey into the castle first. Leaving her outside was a chore, and I needed to hear why she had come. A fireplace with the right temperature and a chair were essential for a calm conversation.
“Sit.”
“Your hospitality here is pathetic.”
Seeming to have calmed down a bit, she rolled her red eyes around, inspecting our castle.
“I don't offer hospitality to uninvited guests. Besides, you put all my servants to sleep.”
“Hmph, that’s not my concern. What do you expect me to do if your servants are weak? If you used golems like I do, you wouldn't have such inconveniences.”
“…”
She’s strangely annoying. Is it her tone? Or that small stature and cute impression? She’s irritating in a subtle way.
“Don't you have blood here? To think there isn't even a glass of blood to serve a vampire. Tsk tsk.”
“Don't expect such things.”
“I definitely felt a faint trace of our descendants, but to think there isn't a single pack of stored blood. What a shame.”
She then shoved her hand into her chest. It wasn't a chest large enough to be called a "cleavage," but she shoved it in regardless. A pack containing blood popped out. Frey tore open the seal of the magic-sealed pack and took a sip. She looked like an elderly person drinking herbal medicine.
“Fascinating.”
“Hmph, a woman’s chest always has its secrets. Though, thanks to someone, such a precious chest was exposed.”
“That’s not what I meant. I was just amazed at where you hid it in that small chest….”
“You son of a bitch!”
“It was a joke.”
“No, it wasn't!”
For a Vampire Lord, she should have just brushed it off as a joke; why was she getting so heated? I had to be the bigger person; there was no other way.
“So, what brings you here?”
“Are you only asking now?”
“Because the probing phase is over. We’ve both been rude to each other, but you know why we aren't holding it against one another, don't you?”
“Phew.”
She curled her lips. We were equals in strength. Since we didn't know who would die if we fought seriously, we were treating this rudeness as a joke. Knowing there was no reason to be hostile, there was no need for tension. Time to get to the point.
“I was just curious who the Demon King was that toppled the kingdom nearby. We’ll be neighbors, so I figured I should know your face.”
Slurp!
Frey finished the blood pack to the last drop.
“The blood of the strong is always delicious.”
She patted her stomach.
“Is that all?”
“Yeah. Need anything else? If you do, I can make up a reason right now.”
Hmm, I waved my hand at Frey, who was pouting in thought, and shook my head.
“That’s enough. Those who come to fight always give themselves away.”
“True, that’s right. There’s that specific fighting spirit.”
Perhaps because we found common ground, Frey’s face brightened a little. She was a simple creature. I hadn't realized there were neighbors near the Aslan Kingdom.
“It’s understandable that you didn't know. Our land is in a distorted space, so humans can't find it.”
“Is that so?”
“If I decide to hide, no one but the talking lizards can find me.”
Frey shrugged while boasting. “You probably couldn't find it either.”
A simple provocation. I didn't fall for it.
“Impressive.”
“What?”
“I don't have such talents, you see.”
That was why so many annoying bugs kept swarming me.
“H-hey, you know how to give compliments, too?”
“Acknowledging what the opponent is good at is the stepping stone to becoming stronger.”
“Hmm, really?”
Frey spread out a map and pointed to a spot. “Our Forbidden Land is here.”
A small forest on the border of the Aslan Kingdom and the Roman Kingdom, slightly overlapping into the Roman Kingdom.
“If you look around here, you might find it. Of course, it’s covered in illusion traps, so you’ll never get in. Hehehe.”
I gave her one compliment and she got cocky, becoming quite talkative. She was the type susceptible to flattery. Unexpected. I thought a Lord would be used to praise.

Submission and symbiosis. I looked at Frey, who was excitedly chattering in front of me.
‘What should I do?’
Just then, Frey’s eyes met mine.
“Oh, right. Actually, there was one more reason!”
Frey clapped her hands as if she’d just remembered. “What does your blood taste like?”
…What?
