The Villain Prologue
There are plenty of villains in this world.
And they’re not just the kind you see on Earth in our own dimension.
“Hey, part-timer.”
“Yes?”
“I don’t feel like fighting the hero today. Would you mind taking my place?”
“Your Majesty the Demon King, that’s just not something you say.”
“Uuu… I hate it so much. Maybe I should just tear the entire continent in half? That way he couldn’t come over at all, right?”
The Demon King with the red hair sat right beside me, legs swinging off the counter.
You can’t be fooled by her cute appearance.
The unexpected customer next to me was a powerhouse who could split this convenience store in half with just a single finger flick.
“In the part-time worker’s world, this is called ‘fanning the flames.’”
“What does that mean?”
“It means stirring up trouble.”
“Stirring up trouble? What does that even mean?”
“…First, there’s already one sitting right beside me.”
“You’re only following the form, but that doesn’t mean every word you say makes sense.”
It was basically an insult, but the girl didn’t even blink.
She really was a powerhouse.
I had no idea how badly she was underestimating me.
“Come on, play with me instead.”
“Your Majesty, in your white-collar Demon King’s castle, you get paid vacation days just for taking it easy every day. But I’m just a regular part-timer who has to work during business hours—I can’t play with you.”
“Where’s the rule for that~? Come on, play with meee~!”
As I’ve said many times before.
There are plenty of villains in this world.
“If you don’t play, I’ll break everything from here to there.”
Damn it.
Today was no exception to the peaceful routine.
