Chapter 13 - Conditions for Becoming a Perfect Idol Leader - Episode 13
13
In the anonymous entertainment forum, the atmosphere had already gone to hell less than an hour after the Zero One second anniversary BLive began.
By all rights, he could see that there wouldn’t be only good reactions. First, he needed to shut that guy up. If he could just keep him from saying anything worse, that would be enough. Please, let it be encouraging comments and not garbage. There were plenty of supportive ones, damn it.
Go Young-in decided to slip in naturally before Pyo Jae-ho could make things any worse. It was better than overreacting here and making the whole situation bigger.
Trolls get no feed....... Right. Let’s ignore this. The troll, and Pyo Jae-ho.
If it were up to him, he’d snatch the tablet right out of Pyo Jae-ho’s hands and ask what the hell he thought he was doing.
Article 20 | A gentle idol leader gladly helps the members.
No, damn it. Ignoring him didn’t mean refusing to help. This was helping, in its own way.
Go Young-in protested to the status window, then leaned toward the tablet in Pyo Jae-ho’s hands and scanned the comments as quickly as possible.
Just as he was thinking he needed to change the subject before the status window and Pyo Jae-ho could open their mouths again, Pyo Jae-ho tried to say something unnecessary out of nowhere.
“Do you know that saying, ‘Jaeho hyung, are you aware that you can’t close your left eye and poke your right cheek?’ Why can’t I? Where did you even get that kind of...”
For the entire time he was reading the comments, Pyo Jae-ho had worn the expression of someone forced to listen to complete nonsense.
Even while Go Young-in poked Pyo Jae-ho’s right cheek in place of telling him to shut up, he didn’t take his eyes off the comments. Damn it, couldn’t he hold it in for just one second? Normally it would be one thing, but today he was past the acceptable limit.
Fortunately, Pyo Jae-ho only flicked his brow in visible displeasure and stopped there, perhaps remembering they were live. He wasn’t completely clueless, which somehow made him even harder to read.
Go Young-in’s eyes moved faster and faster over the comment window.
Hmm... for now, just any decent comment as a temporary fix...
He kept scanning the comments, but just as he was about to sink into a dead-eyed expression because nothing looked safe enough to answer, one finally caught his eye.
...Oh, damn. That’s it. Why didn’t I think of that?
Go Young-in had been planning to stall longer by pretending a comment like that had appeared, but now he’d found an actual decent one—and, unexpectedly, an even better method had occurred to him.
His face, which had been slowly dying, came back to life in an instant.
Damn. Yeah. There’s nothing bigger than that to stir people up right now.
Originally, he’d meant to drag out the comment-reading segment a little longer, but then there was no telling what else might come out of Pyo Jae-ho’s mouth. Better to let this pass for now, handle the things scheduled after it, and then set it off at the very end.
“Aons are saying they’d like to do a Q&A time after a while. We were actually planning to move on to a segment after chatting a bit anyway. Se-bin hyung, would you like to start?”
Even in this moment, one thing from the comments he’d skimmed earlier kept nagging at him. It would’ve felt wrong to just pass over it, and anyway, that was why he’d had him sit next to him in the first place—to keep talking like this.
Lim Se-bin, who had naturally assumed the question would be directed at someone else, flinched at being addressed, but he reflexively put on a gentle smile.
In front of the camera, Lim Se-bin was currently wearing a calm smile that suited an older member at a glance.
“...Should I? Then I’ll go first.”
Seeing it like this, if Cheon Sa-yoon was someone who could skillfully control both expression and behavior, Lim Se-bin looked more like someone who kept his words to a minimum from the start and acted quietly on the surface so his naturally sharp personality wouldn’t slip through.
“I’m thinking of talking one by one about the past we’ve never told Aons before—our TMI from before debut.”
Waaahhhh, our babies are hereeee! Hurry, BLive, go go goooo.
This far-flung poster Aon has already ordered chicken and is waiting.
Everyone, bring snacks with you?
+) Poster Aon ordered one more whole chicken, hehe.
That, too, made sense. Since he hadn’t particularly meant to confirm that he and Kyeon In-woo had gone to the same school, now that he was being told to talk about his childhood, his mouth felt sealed shut.
Kyeon In-woo had truly looked shocked out of his mind, and for a moment he’d regretted it, but what could he do? He’d already said it once. Still, he didn’t understand why Kyeon In-woo had been the more startled one.
The face Kyeon In-woo was making practically said, “Why the hell are you telling that?” and Go Young-in almost snapped without meaning to. Damn it, if he hated it that much, he should’ve kept his mouth shut from the start. Kyeon In-woo was weird, too—how the hell had he even recognized him and brought it up like that?
If he’d recognized him, he should’ve said something when he came in as a trainee. Had he said anything then at all?
How am I supposed to say anything if I can’t even remember properly?
And if he kept talking, he didn’t even know which of his childhood selves he was supposed to be describing. He couldn’t clearly remember what he’d been doing in each of those moments, so how was he supposed to explain it? As for trainee days... well.
Time passed faster than he expected. People said the members weren’t the type to talk much, so it could get boring, but somehow they’d already blown past an hour. He’d thought even thirty minutes would be a win, so this was a surprise.
Now it’s about time to start wrapping up and say the most important thing.
Yeah. Since it had come to this, he might as well bury the small troll with a bigger one. They’d find out soon enough anyway, and maybe it was better to tell them ahead of time on a day like this.
“Aons said they’d like to have a Q&A time after a while. We were actually planning to chat a bit and then move into a segment we’d prepared. Se-bin hyung, would you like to go first?”
