I woke up on my own before the alarm even had a chance to ring, eyes snapping open, feeling impossibly refreshed. My boss—the very one who normally rode me like a demon—had been called away on a sudden business trip, his chair sitting empty, and for the first time since joining the company I got to experience the miracle of 'clocking out sharp'...
...a 'lucky day,' in the truest sense of the word.
On top of that, the fried chicken I'd ordered for dinner came out with all-time-great crispiness and a surge of hot juice, and five straight wins in ranked matches took me to Diamond for the first time in my life?!?
Now this is the life.
On a 'perfect' day that put a smile on my face without my even trying, I went to bed in high spirits, even allowing myself one small, greedy hope—that maybe, just maybe, every day could be like this.
