Civil Servant Hunter’s S-class Resignation Log – Chapter 30
Poaching employees is the same story.
I was just asking about their personal wishes. I have no intention of forcing anyone out.
But Han Su-eon just shrugged, insisting he had no ulterior motives.
Suddenly, why was the atmosphere like this? Se-ra rubbed her neck uncomfortably, her eyes suddenly meeting Se-jun's.
What did you do this time?
Why? Why could she read his thoughts so clearly just from his gaze?
What did I do? I've been sitting here quietly. I didn't do anything?
Se-jun seemed to hear Se-ra's inner thoughts too. She stomped lightly on his foot at his scoffing expression, as if to say yeah, right.
He must have liked the foot-stomping. He'd flipped the table earlier, but now he was sending excited emoticons.
The Administrator's true feelings were truly impossible to fathom.

Finally back home after all the incidents were sorted out.
...How did this even happen?
Se-ra flopped down in the middle of the room.
She had momentarily forgotten amid the sudden encounters with Park Jin-yong, followed by Do Jun-young and Han Su-eon. She'd gone to that alley so late at night specifically to collect her money!
I can't even get paid because of that damn guy.
There was no way she could boldly demand a huge sum from Kang Se-jun with Do Jun-young and Han Su-eon staring daggers.
In the end, Se-ra had no choice but to slink home, shedding tears while leaving a secretly smirking Kang Se-jun behind.
She had planned to cut ties with the annoying L-rank after today, but now it looked like she'd run into him again.
How does this even happen?!
Quiet, Elizabeth!
Whether Liz protested or not, Se-ra rolled around on the floor with a gloomy face.
My money, my precious money! Park Jin-yong, you're grabbing at my ankles until the bitter end!
Hoo... At least I wasn't suspected, so that's a relief.
Se-ra pulled a slingshot from her inventory and gripped it. On second thought, this wasn't half bad. Regular firearms were heavily regulated, but there was no law banning toy slingshots.
Under the Awakener Punishment Act, Awakener weapons were strictly prohibited outside of monster combat. Long-range weapons like bows or guns faced even stricter rules, but it depended on the weapon.
Who would suspect a toy slingshot with no lethality? Especially one held by a half-crippled F-rank sniper who couldn't even properly use a real gun despite her trait.
Heat, sorry, but we'll stick with the slingshot for a while.
I'll change you back to your cool form the moment we enter a dungeon.
Hmm. If it can transform into a toy slingshot, maybe a water gun too?
It can, huh.
She was incredibly curious how far the transformations went. Next time she entered a dungeon alone, she'd have to experiment.

It was a night when Se-ra, wailing about her money, finally fell asleep.
Suddenly, system messages appeared in the dark room. But exhausted from crying, Se-ra slept deeply and couldn't read the suspicious content.
Mysterious message content.
As if reacting to it, another message followed.
This message, never seen before, clearly showed traces of the system changes. But Se-ra, still deep in sleep, saw none of it.
Under the messages that appeared and vanished at will, Se-ra began groaning as if having a nightmare.
* * *
This feels ominous.
In the morning, those were the first words out of Se-ra's mouth upon waking.
She had gotten her revenge and no money, but her chest should feel refreshedwhy had she suffered nightmares all night?
Emoji hell, of all things.
It was hell itself. No matter how she ran, hid, or closed her eyes, emoticons chased her.
And if she stopped? Emoticons filled every direction, closing in like they were choking herit was utterly terrifying.
There's only one culprit who could be behind emoji stuff.
Se-ra's narrowed eyes turned to empty air.
Elizabeth, be honest. Did you watch over me while I slept?
Averting eyes. Huh? What? She was just asking, but it was true...?
The root of my nightmares was Liz all along!
That's why only emoticons appeared in my dream!
Why can the Administrator only communicate with emoticons of all things!
A being possibly greater than a constellation, yet limited like that. It was why she had such horrific nightmares.
Se-ra clutched her face in lament. She never wanted to see that sight again.
Then her phone lit up with a notification. A text from her friend Gong Hae-yeon.
[That jerk who bullied you got prison time! Finally feels good! That bastard!]
Along with the spicy curses came a single news article line.
A-rank Hunter Park Jin-yong, guilty of injury and attempted murder. Hunter license permanently revoked, 20-year prison sentence.
A hollow single line about the once-promising raid leader of a major guild completely falling apart.
20 years in prison. I wasn't even hurt, so those three S-ranks must have pulled some strings.
Well, he would have gotten jail time anyway. The Awakener Punishment Act, influenced by Song Han-na, was extremely strict. All for the peace between Awakeners and non-Awakeners.
Still, it calms me down a bit.
Se-ra tossed her phone back onto the bed with a bored expression.
She would never think of those three lettersPark Jin-yongagain after this.

Thanks to Do Jun-young's considerationrest up this week since the shock must be hugeSe-ra holed up at home. Impossible for a regular civil servant, but the Association was different.
The Korean Awakener Management Association had only received national support at founding; now it ran under Association President Song Han-na's complete dictatorship. She managed everything related to Korean Awakeners and dungeonsno one uninvolved could interfere.
Not congressmen, not the military, not even the president.
The head of the Korean Awakener Management Association can only be an Awakener, and all Association matters follow only the head's decisions.
As long as this clause remained in the Awakener Punishment Act.
It might sound excessive, but it was the result of Song Han-na's desperate struggle to prevent Awakeners from being manipulated by the government.
To avoid repeating the tragedy of a certain S-rank who met a horrific end young after being used by the government.
In the end, it was all the government's fault for abandoning her close friend Song Han-na and pretending not to know.
Well, it works out great for us.
Thanks to Song Han-na's fight, both Awakeners and non-Awakeners enjoyed peace. It wasn't for nothing her approval rating was number one.
Hmm... or maybe a bit problematic for me.
Put simply, she had monopolized the affection of someone powerful enough to wrest an entire organization from the nation because her friend died.
What would she say if Se-ra announced her resignation? Would she say okay, good work, and hand over a retirement pension?
No, she'd surely make a huge fuss, asking if it was because of yesterday's attack and demanding Se-ra move in for safety.
Hah. Good thing I didn't submit my resignation early. She'd just drag me off to live together since I'm quitting anyway.
They lived separately now to hide their relationship, but post-resignation, that excuse vanishedshe'd been waiting for it.
Oh no, absolutely not. Revealing re-awakening was fine, but the contract with the Administrator leaking? That would be a total disaster.
Or use a trip as an excuse...
In the end, despite four full days of vacation, Se-ra couldn't sleep fretting over resignation.
Her aunt doted on her niece endlessly, which was great, but troublesome at times like this.
