Civil Servant Hunter’s S-class Resignation Log – Chapter 22
```
Kang Se-jun, who had fallen briefly silent, soon shook his head.
"It's just a hypothesis. If that were really the case, the Association President would already know. Even if it doesn't show up for her, the eyes of her contracted entity are something else entirely."
Who could possibly fool the eyes of a top-tier entity?
Do Jun-young didn't look entirely satisfied, but he nodded in agreement soon enough. Song Han-na hadn't said a word or given any hint of it, after all.
Even so, Do Jun-young swept her gaze across the office once more. her eyes flicked toward Yoon Se-ra, who was quietly working, but only for the briefest instant.
"The briefing starts soon. Let's get down to business."
"Sure."
The two men dove straight into the main topic.
Throughout their discussion, their eyes never once turned toward Yoon Se-ra again.
* * *
A new post appeared on the S-rank exclusive community that very night.
"Oh, they finally noticed."
She'd just gotten a notification that Kang Se-jun had joined the community, so she'd figured everyone would catch on soon. Se-ra clicked the post with keen interest.
"..."
Her curiosity lasted only a moment. Se-ra's expression turned icy at the pathetic display from Yeongwon's vice guild master.
This guy always seems to pour cold water on S-rank fantasies whenever the chance arises...
"Come to think of it, the very first post I saw was from Guild Dropout Dream too. How does someone as composed as Guild Master Joo Eun end up with a guy like this under him?"
Se-ra felt genuine pity for Guild Master Joo Eun. Poor guy.
|Noeul-ssi| : ??? What's going on? What the hell??? Yeah??? If an L-rank showed up, it should be 12 people, so why 13?????? Huh????? Did a real ghost log in???????
|Yeon-hee| : Oh my, looks like a new S-rank has appeared. Welcome^^
|Noeul-ssi| : How are you so calm about this?????
|Yeon-hee| : I'm not calm. I'm sincerely welcoming you^^
|Noeul-ssi| : That's not what I meant!
|Han Su-eon| : Even the people who live on this community full-time didn't notice? You all lack sharp eyes.
|Noeul-ssi| : Why are you picking a fight? You didn't know either!
|Han Su-eon| : I'm not some idler like Noeul Guild Master who haunts the community every day.
|Noeul-ssi| : Hey. Come out.
|SuhorangGuildChamp| : Where we meeting? I need to grab some popcorn.
"Why did a discussion about me turn into them fighting each other...?"
Han Su-eon looked like the type to coldly ignore any provocations that came walking up to him, but apparently that wasn't always the case. Or maybe he just reacted strongly to Noeul Guild Master.
"Ah."
As Se-ra scrolled through the comments, her eyes widened at the one left by Yeongwon Guild Master Joo Eun below.
|Joo Eun| : New S-rank, were you perhaps the one who took down the Grade 2 dungeon boss beast? If so, I want to offer my sincere thanks. We kept the damage minimal thanks to you. If the chance arises, I'd love to meet you in person someday.
Se-ra was touched by his heartfelt words.
The leader of the nation's top guild, so warm and polite too. He stands in stark contrast to the others.
"Definitely better to have a soft, kind face like Joo Eun's than the chiseled looks of guys like Han Su-eon or Kang Se-jun."
A man in his mid-thirties would be totally fine if he had Joo Eun's looks and gentle personality...!
Unfortunately, Joo Eun had a daughter starting elementary school this year. Ugh, what a shame.
"I'm not even surprised by these messages anymore."
Se-ra blankly stared at the Administrator, who looked massively sulky over who-knows-what. Even a seven-year-old wouldn't pout without reason. What was the problem this time?
"Wait, now you're mad? Why? What's got you worked up this time?"
"Huh?"
Today was the day she'd hand in her resignation, no matter what. Steel resolve in place, she was just about to head out for her final commute when the Administrator popped up a message.
Normally, new community posts didn't trigger notifications like this. Judging by the emoticon, the Administrator had found something hilarious.
"...That feels ominous."
There was footage? She'd thought all the cameramen had fled, but apparently some lunatic had stuck around to film.
"...What the hell."
Excuse me? What did you say? Headbang?
"No, don't! I hate corny nicknames like that! How could you stick me with such a weird label?!"
But she was the only one thinking that.
Whoa;;; Insane;; Is the head exploding real;; Headshot doesn't even cut it. Appointing Headbang-nim from today;;
How do you burst a head like that;; Epic;;;
The video is wild. What the heck is that.
Who filmed this??? Is the filmer still alive?? They didn't die and upload as a ghost, right?? They didn't upload with their dying breath just so everyone could see, right?
Lunatic's wife lololol But I approve 1......
Fr real, they'd rise from the grave to upload this lolololol
May the filmer's lineage prosper forever. Thanks for capturing this treasure.
Look at this video spreading;; Overseas forums are going nuts saying Korea dropped a headshot. Hey, change the name. From today, that person's Headbang-nim.
"No, I said no!"
Se-ra wailed, but no one heard her. The post was spreading just as frighteningly fast as the video. The video title had already changed to Headbang.
"Don't just laughdo something! You can fix this!"
"Argh, seriously!"
Se-ra clung desperately to the system message.
Headbang. Bang. She hated it.
"I'm never revealing my identity. If I'm known by a nickname like that, I might just die of embarrassment and bite my tongue off. Aaaah..."
Tears streamed down her face.
Resignation. She had to submit her resignation. She couldn't bear the horror of the whole office finding out she was Headbang.
"Hiding in plain sight was a pipe dream from the start. I need to resign quick before it spreads to the office..."
Se-ra patted the resignation letter tucked safely in her pocket as she headed to the station.
But perhaps the shocking nickname had left her too dazed.
"I've heard of power bottoming, but power topping? First time for everything."
She didn't notice someone approaching until a low voice murmured right behind her.
Startled, Se-ra leaped about two meters into the air.
"Eek! You scared me!"
Whirling around in panic, Se-ra's eyes went wide at the sight of the person standing there.
"...L-rank?"
It was Kang Se-jun, handsome enough to be intimidating up close.
"Kang Se-jun. Don't use ranks like they're names."
"Why the casual speech on a stranger?"
Her shock faded quickly. Se-ra narrowed her eyes at the younger man's abrupt, presumptuous attitude.
"You use casual too."
"Uh, sure."
But at his response, Se-ra immediately dropped the formality from her eyes and switched to casual. Well, if that's how it was.
