Chapter 12
Chapter 12
Civil Servant Hunter’s S-class Resignation Log – Chapter 12
However, the two shameless ones showed no sign of embarrassment and didn't stop their antics.
Se-ra truly felt sorry for Do Jun-young. Known as an A-rank, he couldn't even drag out two S-rank guild masters, so it must have been even tougher for him. Hiding half her body behind the partition, Se-ra clicked her tongue.
Hang in there, Director.
"Please, enough already..."
"Ah, teasing Director Do really is the most fun. But seriously, it's weird. There's no way the tiger whose territory got invaded would just sit still, right?"
"Exactly. He should be grabbing Su-eon by the hair and slamming his head into the floor right now. Director Do, you're not lying, are you?"
"Do you think I'd lie to the two of you and get through to you?"
"Then what? Why isn't he doing it?"
"This isn't something for the two of you to worry about. Don't upset the Association President unnecessarily and please head back."
The two, who never backed down from an argument, finally shut their mouths at the mere mention of the Association President. Even for them, Song Han-na, the top figure in the country, seemed to be a tough opponent.
"A greeting! Right, since we're here, we should at least say hello to the Association President!"
"Yeah, exactly! We can't just leave without saying hi now that we've come this far!"
Well, aren't they just soulmates or something? They got along perfectly.
But Do Jun-young didn't back down either.
"The Association President is in a bad mood."
"......"
"......"
Se-ra inwardly admired the sudden silence from the two.
Wow. So this is the aura of the Association President that can shut up even these arrogant S-ranks.
"So please save it for another time and head back for today..."
"I never imagined I'd get to see both guild masters here at the same time."
Oh dear lord.
Just when she thought the situation was finally wrapping up, disaster struck on top of disasterthe protagonist himself, Han Su-eon, made his entrance.
Se-ra clearly saw Do Jun-young's face turn even paler.
Ah, so close! If this had been some perfect stranger's business with no connection to me, I'd be munching popcorn with the Administrator while watching...
"The Association President must have another appointment besides me."
Han Su-eon shot Do Jun-young a look that screamed why these useless annoyances were here. Do Jun-young's face aged ten years in an instant.
Poor Director... Still, with four S-ranks gathered in one place, this is quite the spectacle.
Se-ra scanned the four of them carefully.
If she were still F-rank, she wouldn't have sensed a thing. But even though they just stood there, she could feel the subtle hostility they directed at each other.
It was like sparks flying through the air, making Se-ra stick out her tongue in amazement.
But the Association President is still the most overwhelming.
Song Han-na was still a bit vague to her, but at this level, Se-ra figured she could hold her own against them.
Whoa, awesome. Me, thinking I could take on three guild masters? I'm kinda badass, huh?
Yeah, yeah. It's all thanks to you, Administrator.
The Administrator popped up right on cue, acting all cute for attention. Se-ra patted the emoticon like she was rubbing a puppy's butt.
"Where is the Association President? You're not meeting with these two at the same time, are you?"
Han Su-eon glanced back and forth between Eun In-jae and Yoo Su-eun with annoyed eyes. Eun In-jae snorted, while Yoo Su-eun shot her a disappointed look.
"Of course not. The Association President has a prior engagement, so please head back. Then, Yoon Se-ra-ssi."
Se-ra, who had been watching from behind the partition, suddenly gasped as all four S-rank gazes turned to her. She swallowed hard.
The three guild masters' expressions shifted subtly at the same time.
"Yoon Se-ra? You mean the victim from that incident?"
"Oh no. The civil servant who suffered because of that idiot from Su-eon-chin's guild! So pitiful."
Eun In-jae and Yoo Su-eun's faces instantly filled with sympathy. Luckily, the Blessing 'Silver Veil' seemed to be working perfectly.
"Su-eon-chin, you think words are enough for putting such a fragile civil servant through something so terrifying?"
"Right. At least he should kowtow and show some sincerity, don't you think?"
"Look at that frailtylike she'd shatter if you poked her! Poor thing."
"Anywhere hurt, civil servant? Want me to heal you? Tsk tsk. What a mess because of Su-eon-chin."
The unknown S-rank Yoon Se-ra had instantly become a fragile person who looked like she'd shatter at a touch. The blessing was working almost too well.
These people are dead serious about messing with Han Su-eon...
Se-ra awkwardly smiled as the shorter Yoo Su-eun poked and prodded her arm with her tiny hands while standing next to Do Jun-young. Even with the pitiful look in her eyes and direct contact, her true identity didn't seem to be revealed.
Se-ra glanced at Yoo Su-eun, then flicked her eyes toward Han Su-eon. She flinched without realizing it.
What's with that look?
What was it? It felt like he was observing something.
Why? The Blessing 'Silver Veil' was working finethere was no way he'd noticed anything.
"Pleased to meet you. I'm Han Su-eon, master of Cheongrang Guild. You went through a huge ordeal because of my foolish guild member. I am deeply sorry. On behalf of Cheongrang Guild's master, I apologize."
But Se-ra's doubts vanished in an instant. Han Su-eon had withdrawn his scrutinizing gaze and bowed his head.
She was stunned to suddenly see the crown of an S-rank's head.
She'd thought maybe he'd apologize since he seemed reasonable, but she never imagined he'd bow his head while invoking Cheongrang Guild's name!
"Uh, um, I..."
"We'll discuss the details upstairs. The Association President is waiting."
But she seemed to be the only one surprised. Do Jun-young led them away with a perfectly composed face.
Se-ra was dumbfounded. Park Jin-yong, standing off to the side, also looked shocked, eyes wide as if he'd never expected this.
Wow, Han Su-eon is really reasonable...
After seeing Eun In-jae and Yoo Su-eun's antics, she'd thought all S-ranks were crazy, but that wasn't the case, Mom...
At this point, the two guild masters who came all the way here just to watch him kowtow looked like total lunatics.
Se-ra glanced at Yoo Su-eun and Eun In-jae.
He hadn't kowtowed, but they seemed satisfied just seeing him bow. Their faces were full of delight, like they were about to post on the community forums right away. Honestly, Han Su-eon felt a bit pitiful.
This is why you gotta choose your friends wisely.
Se-ra clicked her tongue at Park Jin-yong, the root cause of all this chaos. She hoped Han Su-eon would beat the crap out of him later.
* * *
The face-to-face meeting began.
Song Han-na, the Association President, sat in the center of the table, with the other four facing each other.
The first to speak was Association President Song Han-na.
"Park Jin-yong, kowtow."
Park Jin-yong, who had been sneaking glares at Se-ra, flinched at her words.
"I hate repeating myself. Kowtow."
Or I'll smash your head into the floor myself. She could practically hear the unspoken threat.
At Han Su-eon's glance, Park Jin-yong stood with a flushed face, slammed his head into the floor, and prostrated himself. With three furious S-ranks present, Se-ra bit her lip hard to suppress a grin.
"Then let's start the discussion."
Song Han-na smiled brightly now that everyone had settled into their places. She was definitely the scariest of them all.
"First, I have one question. I heard that two days ago, Park Jin-yong came to apologize to Yoon Se-ra, and she accepted it. Is that true?"
Oh, straight to the point.
At Han Su-eon's question, Se-ra glanced at Park Jin-yong, sprawled out beside her. Whether from anger or something else, his exposed neck was beet red.
"No. I demanded an apology, but Park Jin-yong Hunter turned it around, saying he was the one who deserved onecompletely shameless."
"Th-that's a lie! It's a lie! I did it then! Why are you changing your story now?!"
Se-ra raised an eyebrow at the indignant outburst that erupted immediately after her words.
So that's it. He planned to pin everything on me, huh?
"It's a lie out of revenge. She's holding a grudge and trying to ruin me completely!"
"I see. Then apologize again."
Everyone fell silent at Han Su-eon's calm voice. It was so calm that it took a moment to process what he'd said.
"Pardon? Guild Master, what did you just...?"
"Yoon Se-ra almost died because of Park Jin-yong. Even if she's lying out of revenge, that's just a minor spite compared to what she did. So apologize until her resentment is gone."
Wow. This guy has such a pure heart.
Looking at his serene face, it seemed he hadn't believed Park Jin-yong from the start. Or rather, he didn't even care.
Park Jin-yong had to apologize to Yoon Se-ra. her upright demeanor made it clear that was the only purpose of coming to the Association. Se-ra was moved.
Wow, cool. This is top-tier Korean guild master class...
Covering her mouth with her hand, she looked at Han Su-eon with newfound admiration.
His cool, ice-sculpture-like face was handsome enough to grace magazines, and the blue eyes that changed with his awakening added to his mystique. His reasonable thinking and consistently serious attitude were perfect upon closer inspection.
Damn. I'm suddenly feeling all sorts of fondness I didn't have before.
Se-ra's gaze toward Han Su-eon softened completely.
Yeah, people really should have both a good heart and good looks.
What's wrong all of a sudden? I'm having a rare moment of being touched here.
What's really up with you?
Se-ra sneaked a peek at the Administrator's emoticon while minding the others. Nothing seemed offwhy was he suddenly mad?
She often felt frustrated because emoticons alone didn't reveal the Administrator's true feelings. If only they could talk properly.
"Park Jin-yong. What are you doing? Apologize again. It's not that hard, is it?"
Han Su-eon tapped the table, urging him on.
The gazes of three S-ranksno, four if you counted strictlyturned to Park Jin-yong. She could see cold sweat beading on his neck, now even redder than before. He must have felt like a heavy steel rebar was pressing down on him.
"Won't you?"
"G-Guild Master, I...!"
"I see. He nearly killed an innocent person and still has the gall not to apologize...?"
His final words were so icy that even the air grew cold.
Park Jin-yong, who had been kowtowing, jerked his head up with a deathly pale face.
"Guild Master! I'm innocent! What did I even do wrong?! An F-rank who's never raided a dungeon doesn't understand our pain and spoke carelessly, so I just pushed her a little to show her reality! How was I supposed to know the gate would close?!"
Wow. He's still spouting that nonsense. Se-ra grimaced, and Do Jun-young did the same.
Song Han-na smiled chillingly enough to raise goosebumps. Her cracking knuckles suggested she was ready to drag him straight to the basement.
The startled Se-ra hurriedly grabbed her hand tightly.
M-Mom, I get you're mad, but let's calm down a bit. We can't kill him here...!
"This is..."
In the tense, explosive moment, Han Su-eon closed and opened his eyes.
"I can't bear how pathetic I am for trusting a guy like this with public service. Entrusting my precious guild members to scum like him..."
"Gah!"
Park Jin-yong clutched his throat mid-protest. A blue water stream, appearing out of nowhere, wrapped around his neck like a rope. The bluish mana connected to Han Su-eon's hand.
"You haven't forgotten your contract with Cheongrang, have you?"
"G-Gui, G-Guild... Mas... Ack, urk!"
"You've committed a crime swept up in personal emotions and dared to tarnish Cheongrang's name. As of this moment, you are eternally expelled from the guild."
