Roulette of the Constellations: The Long-Awaited Status Window
Long time no see, roulette of the Constellation Tickets. Before heading into the Sea Tavern, I decided to use my four Constellation Tickets and two Rank-up Tickets right there on the beach. The first ticket tore lightly, emitting a dazzling light. My heart raced wondering what skill would come this time as I peered into the bursting glow.
Cursed Dice
- Summon a 100-sided die, designate a target, and roll it to activate the effect.
- ※Caution: It only activates if the die shows a value.
- First roll: Minor injury. Second: Serious injury. Third: Instant death-like curse damage.
- Cannot roll three or more times on the same target.
- On the fourth roll against the same target, the owner of this die—the constellation—suffers instant death.
- ※Caution: The skill will disappear if that happens.
A new type of curse attack... Proportional to the die value, curse judgment. It could deliver a fatal blow with the third roll on any opponent. But if they had curse resistance, it probably wouldn't work. Excluding the condition of no more than three rolls per target, it seemed surprisingly useful. The constellation putting its own life—the owner's, mine—as the penalty was unexpected, though. Looking back, Time Rewind had used the constellation's lifespan as a penalty too. Was the constellation entrusting its life to me, who's devoted to saving this world...? But what bothered me was that there was no mention of me having to roll the die myself. If an enemy picked it up and rolled it at me, I'd take the damage for sure. It had its risks, and the die needing to show a value was an issue too. For example, if it fell into a pit or the ocean, who knew when it'd hit bottom. Did I have to let it roll after summoning? Could I retrieve it right after it showed a value? Or was summoning and resummoning free? I'd test it later when I used it. As the dice of a cursed constellation, its power must be immense.
Phantasmal Food
- Manifests food you've eaten through imagination!
- Taste and texture identical to the real thing, but no nutrition or satiety from food made with this skill.
- Eating too much causes weight gain due to accumulated mana.
- Mana-eating creatures can gain mana from it.
This one was... incredibly subtle. Could it really do anything? I summoned some Dewaza horse rice I'd eaten before and tried it—taste and texture were identical. But no sense of fullness... Was it really just for mood? It'd be decent for the party. Though since it never fills you up no matter how much you eat, it's just a taste test... Still, since it exists, I could add poison or something. Being able to produce food anytime and lace it with poison opened up uses. Plus, since it's food I've eaten, stuff like Radamu fruits could work as bait too. Riko said it was insanely sweet, after all.
Mandatory Defense Battle
- Gains buffs to sex-related abilities.
Includes—Hero Sword Yokoshima. Gender Swap LV.2. Host LV.2. Succubus Pheromone LV.2.
'Ah, this skill might come in handy someday...?' But looking closer, there was a typo. It said no damage from "sex positions." ...So it flies away? But nothing happened, and the skill was provided anyway. Like before, but this time it just skipped that part and gave the rest.
Ah, so like this? Any sex-related skill gets a buff without exception. Then Hero Sword's power would rise too—if there was lust, that is. In the end, another subtly useless result. I shook my head. Did sex-related abilities include nights with women? As I wondered, the skill sparkled, answering with light: Yes! The Fate Goddess and the constellations alike—women are better the more the better, but watch out not to get squeezed to death. With anticipation for the final fourth skill, I peered into the light.
Status Window
- View basic status window.
It came, it came, it came—!! The heavens opened, the sun spotlighting me on stage. Surrounding plants rustled leaves like applause in celebration, dolphins leaped from the sea singing, a rainbow bridge stretched from the horizon with the World Tree's blessing shining... Finally... It was long... An eternity of patience. After a year, it finally came! The skill I'd wanted so badly! The one all heroes in this world took for granted! Now I could use inventory too! So thrilled, I smacked my forehead.
Three slots per 10 stats—with my 193 total, that's 57 slots. Plus, it could hold items my height, time stopped inside. But with nothing to store yet, I caught my breath and looked up at the clear blue sky blessing me. Screw the stares around me. Gazing into the void, I shouted.
Yeah! The basic skill every modern isekai reincarnated fantasy hero takes for granted!
"Status Window!"
'...Not as impressive as I thought.' A bit different from expectations. The King of the Sea title was probably from Sea Triton. The others made sense too. Since I had Maou skills, it judged me a Maou Candidate... But not actually Maou, so couldn't use them. The ability from the last ticket roll was recorded too. Nothing else special scanning around—this was it. No stat bonuses on titles. Looking for details, it showed Marital Relations: Larirure Larirarion, Circe, so I closed it.
A bit off expectations... but better than nothing. Now inventory too? Easier to store the Godforged Armor so no one steals it, and sub-space for loads of supplies. I grinned, smile creeping unbidden.
'Next, Rank-up?' Honestly, anything was fine now. With Status Window, inventory unlocked! Finally proper hero life! Though the vibe felt off, like it might pop heroine candidates on level-up... After all skills, I tore the Rank-up Ticket.
Costume Change → Costume Change LV.2
Costume Change LV.2
- Transforms into magical girl costume.
- Roll a 6-sided die; multiply stats by the result.
- ※Caution: No responsibility for backlash.
- Forces taunt on evil-aligned creatures.
- Transformation chant exists. / Usable without chant.
- Beautiful glow bursts on transform.
'No way...' Reduce backlash or boost multiplier, or "pretty glow on transform!" for rank-up...? But dwarves wear magical girl costumes, stats up to 6x on good rolls—might as well use it. Evolving to higher Levitfoot makes you goddess-mistakable beautiful, so looks female like Riko... Absolutely don't use untransformed. Backlash might kill, but one extra life!
Wet Wipe Summon LV.4 → Wet Wipe Summon LV.MAX
Wet Wipe Summon LV.MAX
- Summon wet wipes, wet towels, box tissues, ethanol spray.
- Summon faucet in mid-air.
- Adjustable angle and pressure.
- Desired ethanol type.
Ethanol Hydro Pump now? Portable flamethrower? Combine with Fireball for infinite fuel flame faucet. Larirarion would definitely go 'Kyaa, insane! Infinite vodka!' and suck on the faucet. Dizzying... but with Status Window, I felt like I held the sky.
'Don't roll the die four times.' Constellation's life is precious too... Who'd expect such sacrifice from the die's owner... Bad constellations exist, but good ones do too.
"?"
Circe, smiling at my good mood, secretly cast rune magic on me as farewell. Told her to stay in the room, but she followed to see me off then returned. Leaving minimal crew to guard the ship armed, we entered the Sea Tavern.
Pirates laughing, brawling, groping half-naked women. Beyond filthy—Sodom and Gomorrah vibes overflowing.
"Hey, new owner here?"
"What, this old hag?"
"Shitty service."
Captain silently draws gun, shoots one's leg. Fellow pirates rise roaring, but Mortis wordlessly slams mace down. Pirates freeze at Dullahan appearance; grizzled bartender shouts in shock.
"Heavens, Skull Crusher Pirate Mortis! Didn't die? Then next to her..."
"Long time, old-timer. Decades since return. Doing well?"
"Thought you'd never sail again... Good to see you."
Gold-toothed elder urges seats, hands Captain half-drunk liquor from inside. "Saved from before," he says; she takes it, muttering "Forgotten fool now," pours into ice glass, sips.
Pirates who'd sneered now murmur at "Skull Crusher" moniker. Mad Dullahan... psychopath unafraid of water...? Quite the wild youth.
"Quick stop, got money. Discount for old times?"
"Stingy even old. Hornigold knows you're back?"
"Don't care, over 50 years—don't dredge it."
"Tch, true... Anyway, careful. Serious this time. Empire's Shark Admiral, Holy Eagle Kingdom's Jodos Fleet mobilizing to smash Pirate Kingdom."
"Ha? Now?"
"Heard they got massive relic. Who knows—legendary Godforged Armor?"
Captain frowns, muttering it'd be headache. Hornigold scouring seas for Sea Triton—possible chance encounter. Might force shortest route to artifact island. But bartender shakes head: "Not Godforged Armor."
"Elf warrior emerged from Great Forest."
"What...?"
"Got something huge. Maybe World Tree seed Park Chun-sik tried making!"
One elf warrior roaming seas. Hope it's rumor, but eyewitnesses already, elder laments. Gut burning at war entanglement, Captain slaps gold pouch on table for booze and supplies.
Pirates eye heavy gold greedily, but turn away at Mortis's head nearby.
"Generous haul... Oh, Zan."
"Yeah?"
"Glad seeing you before dying. Shame that guy not here."
"Hmph, forgot that idiot long ago."
"Really?"
Elder points at harpoon youth eyeing pirates warily. "Ones who know see," he warns; Captain: "Only one's worth knowing anyway." Elder nods bitter smile.
"May Sea Witch bless your ship."
"Yeah, don't die to bullets, old man. I'll receive you at All Gods Temple."
"Too young to retire?"
──Elder, acquainted with Captain, hands crew booze crates and oak barrels.
Quietly listening... Elf... elf, huh. Hope no encounters. Just one warrior dispatched. But inversely, elves thought one enough.
'Hope no hassle...'
