The Blue Butterfly's Flutter
Cha Eunyung. She was of mixed Korean and Western heritage. Her skin was milky white, a stark contrast to her jet-black hair. And her eyes were a vivid blue—the color of light refracted through a sapphire. Like the sea glittering under the sun on a clear day. Cha Eunyung’s eye color was special. Whenever I glanced away during class and happened to meet her gaze, I would sometimes find myself staring blankly into those eyes without realizing it.
She also had a slender, graceful figure. Especially the pale legs revealed beneath her skirt—they radiated a subtle, captivating charm. I spotted her during chapel today. She wore an ivory cotton tee and a black leather skirt, paired with low black heels that left her insteps and ankles exposed. I sat with the aisle on my right; she was two seats ahead at my two o’clock position, also with the aisle on her left.
Cha Eunyung sat with her legs crossed as usual. Her left foot rested on the floor while her right leg was draped over it, the ankle hovering in the air. Every so often she bounced her left leg, causing the suspended right ankle to sway gently. Each time she did, her pale, delicate ankle flexed lightly before returning to its original position. That ankle, swaying seductively in midair, kept pulling my eyes toward it. Just like a cat fixated on a toy dangling in the air, I found myself helplessly staring at Cha Eunyung’s ankle.
After watching her ankle for a while, I lowered my gaze to my phone screen. The “Forced Costume App” I had received as a quest reward was already open.
[Costume Name: Ankle Tattoo]
[Uses Remaining: 1]
[Effect: Imprints a tattoo around the ankle (near the ankle bone) of any woman you choose. You may select from various designs—butterflies, constellations, flowers, and more.]
[The woman will remember getting the tattoo herself at a tattoo parlor.]
An app that could forcibly tattoo any woman I wanted. It had installed itself on my phone when I opened a random box last time. More precisely, the box had given me the “Ankle Tattoo” item usable within the Forced Costume App rather than the app itself. I had seen similar items before—things like “Forced Costume App – Nipple Piercing” or “Forced Costume App – Navel Tattoo”—so it seemed that obtaining an item for the app automatically installed the app as well.
“Anyway…” I alternated my gaze between the “Ankle Tattoo” icon in my inventory and Cha Eunyung’s foot. With her legs crossed, her right ankle hovered slightly out into the aisle on her left, making it even clearer to me. Her ankle swayed gently. Every time she bounced her left leg, that right ankle teased me with its alluring motion.
Staring at her pale, slender ankle made my grip on the phone tighten unconsciously. Tattoos—drawings etched into skin—had never interested me much before. But now an irresistible curiosity surged through me. I wanted to leave my mark on that white ankle of hers.
I immediately tapped the “Ankle Tattoo” icon in the Forced Costume App.

[Cha Eunyung]
The moment I entered her name and pressed confirm, the phone screen changed. It now displayed a vivid live view of a certain body part, as if I were taking a photo.
“Oh…” I realized it was showing Cha Eunyung’s ankle. Beside the live feed were several option buttons.
[Black-and-White Tattoo / Color Tattoo]
[Select Color Tattoo Hue]
[Choose Tattoo Design]
[Adjust Tattoo Position]
[Adjust Tattoo Size]
“Hmm…” There weren’t many choices, yet deciding on a design proved surprisingly difficult. I left the live feed of her ankle on the screen and looked up again at the real ankle peeking into the aisle. That pale, slender ankle. As I gazed at it, an idea came to me.
I looked back down and selected the options one by one.
[Color Tattoo]
[Color: Blue]
[Design: Butterfly]
[Position: Achilles Tendon]
[Size: Medium]
With each selection, the preview on screen gradually formed the tattoo I wanted on Cha Eunyung’s ankle. It was clearly a preview function. Once satisfied, I pressed the “Confirm” button below the options.
[Apply the tattoo? (Y/N)]

[You have used the Ankle Tattoo item.]
[You may remotely equip or unequip it at any time through the app.]
[The target will remember getting the tattoo herself at a tattoo parlor.]
I raised my head and looked toward Cha Eunyung’s seat.
“Oh…” There it was. A blue butterfly. The blue butterfly I had created was fluttering gently beneath her seat. “It suits her…”
It wasn’t quite as striking as her blue eyes, but it was a beautiful sapphire-blue butterfly. Every time she bounced her left leg, the blue butterfly tattooed on the back of her right ankle flapped its wings as if it were truly flying. It matched her pale ankle perfectly in every way.
Just then, I heard her boyfriend, seated beside her, speak in surprise. The distance made it hard to catch everything, but when I focused, the words became clear enough.
“Huh? Eunyung, did you get a tattoo? I’m seeing it for the first time today.”
“Geez~ Pay more attention to your girlfriend~ I went to the tattoo parlor last week.”
“…Really? …All of a sudden?”
“Yeah… I just felt like it.”
They were talking about the tattoo I had just applied—the blue butterfly on her pale ankle. Her boyfriend looked a little startled by the sudden appearance of the ink, while Cha Eunyung casually replied that she had gotten it herself last week. Just as the quest description had promised, she genuinely believed she had wanted the tattoo and gone to get it done.
After that, I couldn’t tear my eyes away from her ankle for a long while. When I first obtained the tattoo item, it hadn’t seemed particularly exciting, but it turned out to be quite useful. The sapphire-blue butterfly I had chosen fluttered its wings nonstop throughout the entire chapel service.
While I was lost in the butterfly’s fluttering, chapel was already drawing to a close. Professor Son’s voice, signaling the end of class, reached my ears.
“Once again, all of you are sons and daughters of God. Cherish the bodies He has given you, and remember your duties as students even during the festival period.”
After Professor Son’s final words and the closing prayer, chapel officially ended. Students around me began rising and filing out quickly. In contrast, I remained seated, leisurely watching the others leave.
Taeyoung, noticing my relaxed posture, asked, “Hyung, aren’t you going?”
“It’s fine. Let’s take our time. The aisles are packed anyway—we’d just be standing in line forever.”
It was true. Chapel was a mandatory class for the entire year, and the auditorium was packed. Pushing through the crowded aisles meant advancing at a crawl—one step every ten seconds. Sitting here with my phone until the rush died down seemed far more comfortable than queuing up.
Taeyoung accepted my answer and started scrolling on his own phone. When I turned my head to the right, the aisle was still packed with students slowly shuffling past. Tall male students, girls in short miniskirts, tired-looking guys—everyone was lined up and moving forward.
Then, among the legs passing by, I caught glimpses of a blue butterfly.
“Oh…”
Her legs were so beautifully proportioned that comparing them to anyone else’s felt almost embarrassing. It was Cha Eunyung. Like me, she had stayed seated, waiting for the crowd to thin. Through the gaps between the departing students, I could see the butterfly fluttering. She was still crossing her legs and bouncing them lightly. When other people did it, the habit often looked crude, but on her it appeared elegant—almost seductive. At times it even seemed like she was deliberately tempting me.
Cha Eunyung sat chatting with her boyfriend. Her laughter rang out now and then. To any outsider, they looked like the perfect, happy couple. Especially her bright smile. It was so radiant that it could make anyone forget their troubles for a moment.
I had slept with her several times through quests. And every single time I had made her cry or scream in pain. Not once during those quests had I ever seen her smile so brightly. I had tormented her simply because I wanted to, with no intention of making her happy—yet now, strangely, I felt jealous.
No matter what I did, I would never be able to make Cha Eunyung smile with that kind of pure happiness. Only her boyfriend could make her forget everything and laugh like that. Only he could stand beside her and witness that joyful expression.
While I was lost in these thoughts, most of the students had already left the auditorium. Soon Cha Eunyung stood up with her boyfriend and began heading out as well. Naturally, she passed right by my seat. As she walked past, a sweet, floral scent brushed against my nose. I couldn’t tell if it was my imagination or if she had used a particularly fragrant perfume or shampoo today.
When I glanced back at her retreating figure, I realized I wasn’t the only one drawn to that scent. A pretty blue butterfly was fluttering after the floral fragrance.
“I want to do it again…” The thought rose unbidden. Truthfully, I should have been grateful just for the few times I had already been with her through quests. Anyone else in my position would have considered themselves incredibly lucky. I had even slept with her older sister—and the three of us together once. But it wasn’t enough.
Seeing the happy smile she had shown her boyfriend today stirred a strange thirst inside me. I wanted to be with her again, no matter what.
Just then—
A New Quest Has Been Generated.
