Prologue
Heavy rain battered the Flooded Forest.
Sheltering from a downpour that showed no sign of ending, I held my breath inside a cave.
Crack—pop—.
Sparks leapt now and then from the dying campfire. I fed it another branch, and the flame that had been fading by degrees flared back to life.
I curled up before the warm light, my back pressed to the greatsword propped against the wall, and stared blankly into the fire.
—GYAAAAA!!
At the roar that rolled in from far away, I drew myself even smaller.
In this Flooded Forest, I was the only human left. Outside, the monsters thronged without end.
This place was the goddamn world of a hunting action game.
I had fallen into it as the female character I'd been playing.
