Goddess of Victory
The stock market.
It was pure chaos.
Powell’s hawkish tightening had conjured a bear market the likes of which no one had ever lived through.
(International black-market organ prices by body part)
I still got plenty of organs left~~~ lol
Crisis equals opportunity.
That was an easy thought to have. For the past few years the Nasdaq had done nothing but climb. Sooner or later it had to bounce, right? People were still buying with long-term investment as their stated goal.
(Frog that aged thirty years overnight)
I’m exhausted
People are suffering
I can’t breathe I’m going insane
Just give us one rebound already
It’s enough
Semiconductors are the rice of industry
Nvidia AMD Qualcomm Intel TSMC—they go in every computer
It’s fine
I’m exhausted
It’s time to lift us up already……
A bear market is what makes you seriously consider cutting losses. Rational judgment becomes impossible. The fear sprouting inside your chest—when you finally realize it is no longer mere anxiety—
—true terror begins.
What they call “panic” was swallowing every market participant whole.
(Debt ceiling news capture)
(Fed officials on Financial Juice)
US debt is currently $21 trillion
They’ve printed an insane amount of money since Trump took office
That’s why the Democrats are squeezing him
And why Powell keeps hiking rates
It’s an unstoppable tidal wave
Falling prices. Rising headlines. Reality could no longer be ignored. The only thought left was that stocks would keep going down.
And that meant—
Korean investors were no different. In some ways the situation was even worse.
Toilet-paper lawless hell whore fabrication scams scam-dev gallery motherless orphan stock gallery lmaoooooooooooo
The KOSPI. A straight bear market since February. Nearly 20 percent off the highs. Watching the Nasdaq—which had only ever gone up—finally fall, only for the domestic market to fall right along with it, was enough to make anyone’s blood boil.
And that wasn’t even the whole story.
(iShares MSCI South Korea ETF capture)
It’s not just the index……
The exchange rate jumped 10% too……
In dollar terms we’re down over 40% from the top
Even people who miraculously avoided losses this year are still down at least 10%
Foreign-exchange losses. Damage caused by currency swings. When US rates rose, the dollar strengthened and the won collapsed. Domestic investors felt their guts rot twice over. No matter where or how you invested, there was simply no angle left that looked profitable.
Discomfort Index lmaoooooooooooo
Investment itself was starting to feel pointless. The mood on the communities had flipped 180 degrees from a year ago.
This isn’t right……
She couldn’t help but notice the change. She checked these boards every single day.
Sora scrolled through the posts with a hardened face. Hope had been completely erased.
(Frog holding a bamboo spear)
Jerome Powell you son of a bitch
People are dying because of you
Not just Americans
Koreans across the ocean are dying too
People all over the world are having meet-ups with the fish in the Han River, the Yangtze, the Ganges, the Seine, the Thames
This is your fault
It’s all your fault
You’re the one killing everyone!!!!!
Mental breakdowns everywhere. They had watched every average-down only dig the hole deeper.
Even if it does rebound.
They would dump everything the moment they hit break-even. She understood, and yet the pity cut deep. You buy stocks in fear. Everyone knows it. Almost no one can actually do it.
“This is exactly the time to buy stocks. Powell can’t keep hiking forever, and the second he shows even a slightly dovish face the market will bounce like it’s been waiting for the signal!”
She felt it herself. Reason and emotion were running on separate tracks, judgment fraying at the edges. That was why she had gone in person. She had met Powell in America and heard what was really in his head.
He’s not completely stubborn.
The market had already crashed hard enough. Participants were shaking with terror. If this continued, the real economy would start taking damage. He might move preemptively—the same way he had pulled out the rate-hike card in the first place.
“I am shaking it!!”
Telling the viewers that was her job. The duty of a stock YouTuber.
Th-this isn’t how it’s supposed to go.
She led by example and bought stocks herself. She had to prove she wasn’t just talking so the audience would believe her. The results simply hadn’t shown up yet. The market was still drowning in fear.
America and Korea both. A market ruled by fear could never receive a fair valuation.
Fuck……
She had decided she would keep dancing until the real rebound arrived. Every donation went straight into stocks.
“Once the rate-hike stance softens, the exchange rate will be the first thing to move. At current levels the KOSPI can look very attractive to foreign investors.”
She had conviction. Sora was waiting for a market rebound—especially a rise in Korean equities.
Partly because I’m a KOSPI investor myself.
This whole episode had also sparked her interest in the Nasdaq. As an investor, the KOSPI simply looked more appealing right now. Current KOSPI prices were dirt cheap. In dollar terms they were even cheaper. Foreigners had every reason to salivate.
Sora had done the analysis in complete seriousness.
“I’m trying to have a serious conversation here!”
The viewers couldn’t care less. If stocks rose, great entertainment. If they didn’t, they got more dancing.
This is actually killing me!
Earning money to average down was fine. But dancing was not light work. The demands never stopped. She couldn’t half-ass it either. Taking the money and then phoning it in was something she simply could not accept.
“Haa…… haa……”
Her breathing turned ragged. Her thighs trembled. Her pelvis loosened and bounced higher and lower than usual.
That was exactly why she kept drawing more eyes. Viewers marveled at the living performance art. The recent market situation was laid bare in a single glance, delivering a tension no one could look away from.
“A rebound?”
“They’re just straight-up trying to kill us right now—hard to see it……”
Sora’s stream wasn’t only watched by ordinary investors. Word had reached Korea’s Wall Street—Yeouido—as well. People were starving for any optimistic outlook. No expert, no trader, could claim certainty about what came next.
Just some YouTuber?
The idea that she was discussing forecasts was almost laughable. Prop trader Kim Ik-su snorted at first—
“Ohh!”
“Once volatility this extreme dies down, a trend change wouldn’t be strange.”
“Yeah…… it kind of makes sense.”
—but the argument had force.
