A Different Kind of Gift
Chapter 2
“W-wait, this is embarrassing… can you turn the lights off first?”
“How am I supposed to see if I turn them off? It’s broad daylight and closing the curtains is too much hassle… so stop complaining and come here.”
Sehwa, dressed only in her underwear, approached shyly. I hooked a finger into the waistband of her panties, tugged them down slightly, and peered inside. A satisfied smile spread across my face. Her pussy was completely hairless, smooth and glistening—utterly beautiful.
“Don’t stare like that…”
“You did a good job. It’s pretty.”
“…You promised you’d do everything I wanted, right?”
“Of course. I’m not the kind of person who takes promises lightly.”
Sehwa flared up. “Are you talking about me right now?”
“Why? Feeling guilty?”
“I haven’t met Seunghyeon once since that day!”
“He’s probably just too busy to see you.”
“He said he’d take a day off, but I told him not to.”
“Did you? Good girl.”
I maintained my relaxed attitude the entire time, which only made Sehwa huff in frustration. But that lasted only a moment. Perhaps weighed down by her own sins, her expression quickly softened. She gathered her clothes and began dressing.
“I registered at the driving school. I start on Monday.”
“I know. The card statement came through by text.”
“But once I get my license, I want to drive around with you.”
“I already told you. If I get sick or something happens to me…”
“I’ll take good care of you so you don’t get sick. And with me around, what could possibly happen to you? I’m really strong, you know.”
I knew that better than anyone. How could I not? My entire body had been torn to shreds and I had died because of it.
“Well… life is unpredictable. You never know what might happen…”
Tears welled up in Sehwa’s eyes in an instant. I had no idea why she was suddenly on the verge of crying and looked at her in confusion.
“What’s wrong? Why are you like this all of a sudden?”
“Why are you talking like you’re about to leave me?”
Ah… so that was the reason. She was worrying over nothing. I planned to make her my official wife and keep her by my side for the rest of our lives. I suppose I had spoken a bit too ominously.
I stood up from my seat and pulled Sehwa into my arms to reassure her. Her arms naturally wrapped around my neck while her legs circled my waist. The fact that she relied on me this much filled me with satisfaction.
Supporting her by the ass, I carried her into the living room and plopped down on the sofa.
“Why would I ever leave you? If anyone’s leaving, it’d be you leaving me.”
“…I have a wish.”
Here it comes. Let’s hear just how perverted her request is.
“Go ahead.”
“Those words you said to me last time… say them again.”
“What words did I say to you last time? When?”
“The day you… came inside me…”
Aha. That’s all she’s wishing for? I could say it as many times as she wanted. Looks like holding back those words had been effective.
“Is that all you want?”
“Yeah… that’s all I want.”
“I love you.”
“…..”
Sehwa’s arms and legs tightened around me. She clearly wanted to respond, but remembering how I had covered her mouth last time, she was desperately holding herself back. It was adorable. As I kneaded her ass, a thought crossed my mind.
‘I should give Yu Seunghyeon some material soon.’
Poor protagonist whose life had been ruined because of me. Since I feel a little sorry, I’ll give you a present.
Beep! Beep!
The modified Device on Sehwa’s wrist emitted Doctor Cash’s summons. They must have detected Evelion Energy. This time the monster was a Death Knight. A rather mediocre creature. Its only notable trait was that it commanded an undead legion. With such overwhelming numbers, it would open multiple gates at once.
Death Knight, fight Leona for a few rounds and then die. Your undead legion will be taken care of by me, Doctor Cash, and the people of Earth. Thanks to your army, we’ll be able to establish standard guidelines for monster ranks, so I’ll say thank you in advance.
“Song, what are you doing? We’ve already finished the cleanup.”
Doctor Cash sounded exhausted. With dark circles under my eyes that matched hers, I answered.
“I was making a chart.”
“A chart…?”
“This monster attack was different from the previous ones, wasn’t it?”
“Yes. It was far more organized.”
“Exactly. It was as if someone was directly commanding them.”
The legion led by the Death Knight had appeared in Moscow. Their numbers exceeded ten thousand. Dozens of gates had opened, and the undead had poured out from within. No matter how strong Leona was, she couldn’t handle such a sheer volume of enemies. The silver lining was that the Russian military had been able to confront the undead legion. Thanks to that, Leona had taken care of the Death Knight and the other commanders while the Russian forces, Doctor Cash, and I handled the rest.
Of course, this had all been intentional on my part. The Death Knight had appeared when the Evelion gauge reached 95%. The commanders had emerged at 50%, and the remaining fodder had come through gates below 20%. This was completely different from the previous pattern where gates only opened above 90%. I had essentially turned the detector Doctor Cash had worked so hard to create into nothing more than scrap metal.
Doctor, don’t be too disappointed. I’m helping you establish a systematic defense for Earth. You should be thanking me.
“I don’t believe the gates are appearing randomly. I suspect there’s a highly intelligent lifeform that’s either trying to conquer Earth or sending these monsters for some other purpose. The previous gates were just test runs. Now it seems they’re beginning to move in a more organized fashion…”
“This highly intelligent lifeform?”
“Yes. Just as we’ve gone through trial and error to prepare ourselves, they’re also establishing their own system.”
“Keep going.”
“First, take a look at this chart.”
The doctor leaned closer to the monitor. It displayed a table of the energy levels at which gates had opened this time, along with a summary of the Russian military’s achievements. She examined it with great interest.
After staring at the screen for a long while, she spoke.
“So, to put it simply… it would look like this?”
I nodded at her neat summary.
“Yes. That’s accurate.”
“This gate could still be a coincidence. The humanoid monsters that appeared worldwide last time weren’t even detected.”
“That’s true. But that was before the Evelion detector was improved. With the current version, we should be able to detect them. And as I mentioned earlier…”
“Yes, you said it seems like this highly intelligent lifeform is beginning to move in an organized manner.”
“Exactly. I believe future gates will appear in this pattern. This is just my prediction, but…”
“You’re getting a bit ahead of yourself. Still, it’s plausible. There’s no way those gates and monsters are appearing completely at random. It’s credible.”
With her arms crossed, Doctor Cash paced around the lab. Sehwa, who had been sleeping in the corner, stirred at the sound of her heels clicking. The doctor apologized to her, told her to sleep more, then returned to me.
“This chart you came up with… it would be good to save it separately. Let’s decide after seeing how the next gate opens.”
The next gate, the one after that, and the one after that would all open in the same way. Weak ones through weak portals, strong ones through strong portals. I would make sure of it. You, who have no idea about any of this, just keep sending me your absolute trust.
“Understood.”
“You worked hard for two days straight… now wake Sehwa. I’ll drive you both home.”
“We’ll take a flying taxi, so you should get some rest. You worked the hardest, Doctor. I’ll just increase the Device’s capacity a bit and head back.”
“Thank you for saying that. Then I’ll leave it to you. Don’t come in tomorrow. Get plenty of rest.”
“Yes.”
The doctor lay down haphazardly in a corner of the lab and soon began snoring lightly. She must have been incredibly tired. After all, she had gone without proper sleep for two days, handling the aftermath and conducting research on top of it…
After quickly increasing the Device’s capacity, I took off my lab coat, walked over to Sehwa, and lifted her into my arms. She woke up and asked drowsily.
“Is it… over…?”
“It’s over. Let’s go home.”
“Mmm… good work… I’m hungry…”
“Let’s buy something on the way back.”
“Hehe…”
When massive damage had occurred in Russia, Sehwa had been as distressed as last time. But it wasn’t as bad as before. Her mental fortitude had increased significantly, and she had stayed with me in the lab the entire two days. That must have helped.
I’m pretty tired today too. Once we get home, I should just sleep.
The next day, after sleeping like a log for the first time in a while, I opened my eyes in the morning. I reached out beside me, but Sehwa wasn’t there. I got up, cracked my stiff neck a few times, and walked into the living room.
“You’re awake? Breakfast is almost ready. Come eat.”
Sehwa was wearing an apron and cooking. It would have been nice if she were naked underneath, but that was a shame.
“Don’t you have school today? Shouldn’t you be getting ready?”
“I’m not going today.”
“Really?”
When I glanced at her expression, I saw a hint of sadness. If I left her alone like this, she would probably feel down again.
“Nothing major will happen if you miss one day, right? Let’s spend the whole day together. What’s on the menu?”
“Rolled omelette… stir-fried anchovies… bean sprout salad, ham pancakes… and fish cake soup.”
She had prepared quite a lot. It must have taken a lot of effort. As I sat down, Sehwa brought over freshly cooked warm rice. I tasted the various dishes she had made. They were delicious. This kind of ordinary life wasn’t bad at all.
Sehwa sat across from me and picked up her chopsticks. We ate breakfast in silence for a while before she asked.
“Can I keep living here?”
“You’re already living here.”
“No, I mean can I bring all my stuff over?”
“Hmm… once Yu Seunghyeon pays off all his debt, won’t he ask you to live with him?”
“We were already living separately… and even if he says that, I won’t live with him.”
“Really? Then let’s slowly move your things over.”
Sehwa’s face brightened, and she placed a piece of ham on top of my rice. Her way of showing gratitude was very much like her. After finishing breakfast and washing up, we lay on the bed and enjoyed our unemployed lifestyle. We watched movies on our phones, groped each other under the excuse of charging our Devices, cracked silly jokes, and laughed together.
Sehwa’s phone kept ringing and buzzing with calls and texts from Yu Seunghyeon, but she ignored them all. She even sent a text saying she would contact him later and then turned her phone off completely.
Yes, talking to Yu Seunghyeon will only make your heart more troubled. You saw it yourself, didn’t you? He couldn’t even comfort you properly and instead groveled in front of me. He’s not a reliable man, so you can slowly—very slowly—distance yourself from him emotionally.
‘Ah, that’s right.’
I remembered something I had forgotten because I had been so busy and called out to Sehwa.
“Sehwa.”
“Yeah?”
“Let’s make a Twinkle account.”
Twinkle was an anonymous social media platform. A massive SNS used by seventy percent of the world’s population.
“Twinkle…? Why…?”
Why else? To nurture your exhibitionism through a new kind of play. And to give Yu Seunghyeon some more material.
Sehwa’s eyes darted around anxiously. Don’t worry. I won’t show your face.
