Prologue
Everyone has probably harbored that classic 'romance' at least once—being transported into the world of their favorite game or novel and living there.
Bookstores and web novel platforms overflowing with the genre are proof enough.
In my previous life, right up until bedtime, I must have fantasized about getting isekai'd around 58,000 times.
But when it actually happened without any warning, far from romantic, nothing could have been more absurd.
In the early days after possession, my modern sensibilities lingered, driving me to the brink of insanity.
Yet after teetering on the edge of life and death dozens of times, my body adapted on its own, whether I liked it or not.
Somehow, I adjusted to this brutal world, convinced I could finally live an ordinary life. I truly believed it...
"Um, mister. Could you lend me some money?"
"I don't have the cash to repay you right now... but instead, how about me...?"
No, why on earth is a noble lady from one of the Empire's top five houses asking me for a loan? And isn't there something seriously off about her offer?
"What do you think is the most important thing for running a hero party?" "Great companions? Of course that's crucial. Top-tier gear? That's a given too."
"But more than anything, it's having plenty of funds. ...So, could you spot me some money?"
No, a hero party gets red-carpet treatment and piles of sponsorship money wherever they go—why come begging to me of all people?
Somehow, I've gotten tangled up with a bunch of weirdos.
If anyone out there knows how to handle this mess, please, give me some advice.
