Chapter 58: Women's Intuition Never Misses
Gotta say, women's sixth sense is always spot on.
"Mm." There was nothing to hide about it, and Chu Fei had no intention of pursuing anything with Jiang Ning anyway, so he nodded right away in admission.
"Your girlfriend?"
"No."
"Oh... then can I come with you?"
"Should be okay..."
By the time Chu Fei arrived, Li Bing was already up and at the company with her sister Li Xin. She picked up his call and told him to wait outside—they were in the middle of interviewing some new models.
Chu Fei and Jiang Ning sipped coffee and chatted, not minding the wait. In the end, though, not only did Li Bing come down, but Li Xin tagged along too.
"Huh? So that's why you're in such a good mood waiting for me today—you've got a cutie with you!" Li Bing spotted Jiang Ning and immediately pinched Chu Fei in mock annoyance before turning to her. "Who's this?"
"Yeah, she's my blind date—Jiang Ning!" Chu Fei introduced her breezily. "Still in university."
"Blind date?!"
Li Bing's face twisted in utter confusion, her eyes wide with the kind of disbelief reserved for spotting an alien. "OH MY GOD! You still do blind dates? Young Master Chu, do you ever lack for women?"
"Cough cough..." Even Chu Fei's ironclad shamelessness faltered at the praise—he felt his cheeks heat up despite himself. He quickly pivoted to Li Xin. "Sister Xin, what brings you down here?"
"Mm, been slammed all day, and we've got newbies to train tonight. Ice Ice mentioned you're buying, so I figured I'd crash the party."
Li Xin took it all in stride. Her condition had never left room for marriage dreams anyway, so she didn't sweat it. But after that last massage, she held Chu Fei in pretty high regard.
"Ha, if Sister Xin honors us, it's my lucky day!" Chu Fei laughed heartily. "Enough sitting around—you ladies know the spots. Lead on to the good stuff!"
"Whoa, when did you turn into Mr. Big Spender, you cheapskate? Hit the jackpot or what?"
Li Bing kept up her teasing barrage, but she looped her arm through his with exaggerated flair, leaving Jiang Ning momentarily stunned.
"No jackpot, but I've leveled up to boss status—gotta act the part. Plus, Sister Xin's the real CEO here. Hoping she'll hook me up with some business."
"Pfft, weren't you a boss before... oh, right, that was your mom running things! Wait—what do you mean you're the boss now?"
"We'll dish over food... Settled on a spot? Where to?"
"Anywhere works! Sis, you pick!"
The four of them settled into a nice hotel. While waiting for the food, Chu Fei laid out the whole story for Li Xin—how Zhang Lin and the others had invested in his shop. He wasn't bragging; he genuinely wanted her to steer some clients his way.
He'd always known the shady side of his family's business, so Li Xin had been off-limits before. But now that he was going legit and making moves, as Xie Qin had put it, it was time to tap every resource. Li Xin was a goldmine—her agency signed models and minor celebs who weren't exactly pinching pennies. One word from her, and he'd be feasting for life.
Hearing someone had dropped two million to back Chu Fei's shop, Li Xin furrowed her brow and sank into thought. After a long pause, she looked up. "Two million for what share?"
"Er... 10%."
"Ah???"
Li Bing let out a sharp yelp, scanning Chu Fei up and down in disbelief. "Whoa, didn't peg you for a silver-tongued salesman. Two mil for just 10%? If it were me, I'd snatch at least half!"
"Yeah, right—like you've got two mil to throw around. Always scheming to take advantage of me... still gunning for my shares?" Chu Fei shot her the middle finger.
"Hey! When did I ever take advantage? Sis, he's picking on me!" Li Bing immediately recruited backup to gang up on him.
"Chu Fei—if I invest two million now, can I get 10% too?"
"What? Sis, have you lost it??" Li Bing froze on the spot, and Chu Fei wasn't far behind.
"Ah??"
Chu Fei stared at Li Xin in shock. What was that about?
It felt like ever since ditching Wuhan, the curse of bad luck that had dogged him for years had finally lifted. First came that bizarre flesh-devouring power out of nowhere, and now Zhang Lin and Li Xin were practically begging to shove money his way?
Were they all nuts? Or had he suddenly unlocked some insane potential?
