Finishing Zhang Lin's Treatment
“Sister Zhang... why don't you go back in and have Shishi take a photo of you?” Chu Fei walked over, waving tiredly. “We'll develop the pictures in a couple days and you can see the before-and-after comparison... I was thinking of using your photos for a promo booklet. What do you say?”
“A promo booklet?” Zhang Lin hesitated for a moment. “If it's just an internal album for female clients, I wouldn't mind. But if it's the kind you hand out on the street...”
“Of course it's not for handing out on the street.”
Chu Fei gave a wry smile. “It's just me doing the work here, after all. I'll stick to high-end clients from now on—otherwise, every woman on the street would come running, and I'd never get any sleep.”
“Good point!”
Zhang Lin relaxed immediately at his words. She grabbed Chu Fei's hand right away. “No problem at all, then... You don't even need a promo booklet. After the New Year, sis is definitely hooking you up with some big-shot clients. But don't work yourself so hard by then!”
“Got it!”
Chu Fei nodded, then turned to glance at his mom. “Mom, double the prices on all projects from now on!”
“You little rascal...”
Zhang Lin chuckled lightly and pulled her card from her purse. “Boss lady, before the prices go up, let me book a few packages!”
“What are you saying, Little Zhang? Even if prices rise, they won't touch you!”
He Peiling knew just what to say, but she snatched the credit card without missing a beat. “What else do you want to book, Little Zhang?”
“We've done all the projects I needed, but slimming down is a long-term battle. Hmm, I'll start with a full slimming massage package... I told you already, I'll be Little Fei's long-term client for sure!”
“Haha, you've got the best eye around, Little Zhang...”
The reason they'd rushed to finish all of Zhang Lin's projects today was because it was the twenty-ninth, and tomorrow was New Year's Eve—the thirtieth. By tradition, that was family reunion dinner time, so no matter what, her husband would be home tomorrow.
All in all, these past few days had been exhausting, but with Zhang Lin's full treatment complete, Chu Fei felt a huge weight lift off his shoulders...
And there was another perk: he'd found a way to restore Lin Juan's body, so no more worries there. He planned to spend all of tomorrow on it, though he'd probably need to rope in his cousin—otherwise, Lin Juan's fragile frame might not have enough yin essence to spare.
After Zhang Lin left, Chu Fei plopped down in a chair to rest. A bunch of the girls immediately crowded around, eager to cozy up to him...
They weren't idiots. They knew Chu Fei's services were raking in the cash now, and if things kept going like this, his part of the business would be the salon's goldmine. Sure, he wouldn't teach them his techniques, but building some goodwill never hurt.
But He Shishi quickly pushed through. “Cousin, you've been at it all day—let me give you a massage!”
“Mm.”
Chu Fei happily leaned back against his cousin's chest, savoring her fingers—until he caught a female customer getting her hair done pulling his mom aside for a hushed chat nearby. He couldn't make out the words, but he heard his mom mention his name, so it was definitely about him. He didn't pay it much mind, though. Later, when the woman settled her bill, she deliberately stopped in front of him, eyed him up and down, then nodded to He Peiling and left.
Chu Fei shot his mom a depressed look. “She wants a massage?”
No wonder he was bummed. The woman had to be in her fifties, her face covered in age spots, skin dull and lifeless. And she was already pretty skinny to boot...
Chu Fei might be a lot of things, but he wasn't that heavy into it.
“Nah, she's a regular here. Saw you today, thought you were a catch—college boy and all—so she wants to introduce you to her niece.”
He Peiling smiled. “Why so tense? Can't do a massage? Customers pay, we serve—no picking and choosing.”
“Right, right, Mom's got a point!”
Chu Fei shrugged helplessly. “But you didn't agree, did you? She came over just to check me out!”
“Why wouldn't I? Setting you up with a girlfriend? You've said Li Bing isn't your girl anyway. You're twenty-three now—time for someone to keep you in line. Can't have you messing around with the girls every night.”
“Auntie!”
Shishi's face flushed red. She knew He Peiling wasn't talking about her specifically, but it still lumped her in.
“...”
Chu Fei was pretty speechless but let it drop. It was just talk of an intro for now—the girl might not even like him anyway...
As he pondered what to do next, his phone suddenly rang. He checked it: Li Bing.
