Chapter 97: PC Bang 2
One thing led to another.
There was a slight accident where my lower half went stiff thanks to the seductive Seo Ye-rin, and I couldn't leave the restroom until I calmed down.
Regardless, the editing proceeded smoothly.
Click.
Pshhh.
I took a sip of the energy drink I’d finally ordered after putting it off and focused on the screen. I actually felt like some kind of professional.
I realized that for a thirty-minute short film, the editing was even harder than the actual filming.
No joke, it looked like we’d need a few reshoots—things like smoother transitions from the scenery to the actors, or some extra B-roll for the background.
I was even planning to create a custom typography for the title, and surprisingly, that problem was solved on the spot.
"How’s this? Like this?"
"Oh, as expected of a Design major."
One of the other friends happened to be a Design major and whipped it up right next to me.
She had her own tablet, so she drew it, emailed it to me instantly, and when I slapped it onto the title card, it looked perfect.
With this, I could coast through the first few seconds of the intro.
"It’s not really because I’m a Design major; I’ve just enjoyed doing stuff like this since high school."
"It’s really pretty. Thank you."
I was genuinely grateful for the help, so I quickly pulled up the ordering screen and asked, "I'll buy you something. Get whatever you want."
"I want a roasted grain latte!"
"I want Jhapaguri."
I have no idea why these weirdos were chiming in. Yoo Ah-rin and Seo Ye-rin lunged in from the side as if they’d been waiting for the moment, but I ignored them.
"What would you like?"
When I asked again, the Design friend smiled brightly and pointed at an Iced Americano.
Just as I was about to click, Seo Ye-rin’s hand overlapped mine on the mouse.
She tried to force my hand to add more items to the order.
I knew I was a weakling, but I didn't think I'd lose a power struggle against a single girl—until Yoo Ah-rin leaned her weight in too. It was harder to resist than I expected.
"Get... lost... you freaks!"
"Buy it for us!"
"Grain latte for me!"
I don't know why these crazy girls were being so stubborn. At this rate, I was actually going to lose control of the mouse.
Thinking fast, I grabbed Yoo Ah-rin’s waist—which was right in front of me—and squeezed.
"Hyat?!"
Startled, Yoo Ah-rin twisted her body. In the process, she knocked over the energy drink I’d opened earlier.
"Hey! You spilled it!"
"You pervert!"
"Ugh, Yoo Ah-rin, seriously. You’re a total disaster. Don't ever go to the military."
"Are you insane?!"
Her face flushed bright red as she hugged herself as if shielding her body.
It wasn't like this was the first time she’d acted like that.
Fortunately, the liquid didn't get on the keyboard or any of the equipment.
Seo Ye-rin quickly grabbed a rag and helped wipe down the desk. In moments like this, her quick reflexes were actually helpful.
The Design major gave an awkward laugh and turned her chair back to her own spot.
Yoo Ah-rin huffed, kicked my chair once, and then whipped her head back to the drama she had been watching.
"Give me that. I'll wipe it."
"No, I'll do it."
Seo Ye-rin leaned deep into my space to wipe my side of the desk. I wondered if she really needed to go that far, but then she opened a disposable wet wipe she’d brought with the rag and lowered her hand with a beaming smile.
"It got on you here, too."
"…!?"
My body stiffened instinctively.
Because the place Seo Ye-rin’s hand touched was my lap. Specifically, her hand went right toward my crotch, and she began carefully wiping my pants—which weren't even wet.
I tried to tell her to stop, but it felt surprisingly good. My lower half was starting to tense up again…
‘N-No. This isn't right.’
This was dangerous.
We were in a public place, and Yoo Ah-rin was right next to us. If I wasn't careful, I felt like I’d abandon the editing and drag Seo Ye-rin to a nearby motel. I tried to stop her, but then—
"..."
Feeling a stinging gaze, I slowly turned my head. Yoo Ah-rin was staring at us with an expression like she’d just chewed on a piece of crap.
Seo Ye-rin, seemingly unaware, kept her hand moving, diligently "cleaning" my precious area.
"Ah..."
A faint sigh escaped her, and I felt her alluring, hot breath hit my pants.
I immediately grabbed the back of Seo Ye-rin’s neck and pulled.
"Chokeslam!"
Technically, you’re supposed to grab the front, but whatever. I forced Seo Ye-rin back into her seat.
Seo Ye-rin looked disappointed for a moment before realizing Yoo Ah-rin was watching. She turned bright red and buried her face toward her monitor.
When her "switch" is flipped, she goes all out, but once it’s off, she goes back to her usual "innocent" act.
And that’s what makes it so infuriating.
"Are you fucking kidding me?"
Yoo Ah-rin finally spoke up, stood up, and lunged at me.
Thud!
Her slender hand grabbed my throat and slammed me backward.
"Chokeslam this, you son of a bitch!"
My head hit the headrest, and the back of the chair reclined all the way. Since it was a high-end chair, it felt like it went back a full 180 degrees.
I experienced a makeshift chokeslam, but it didn't actually hurt. However, Yoo Ah-rin didn't let go. She grit her teeth and whispered in my ear.
"You bastard, this is a public place. There are kids here."
"Tell that to your frien—ack! I’m sorry!"
When she squeezed harder to cut off my excuse, I immediately folded. She let out a long sigh and swept her bangs back.
"Ugh, you animal."
I’m telling you, say that to Seo Ye-rin.
Fuming, Yoo Ah-rin stomped back to her seat, breathing heavily. I rubbed my neck and tried to get back to editing.
"Um, how about this design?"
The Design major, seemingly having fun now, showed me another typography she’d made with a different phrase.
"…Just a moment."
The blood was still rushed downstairs, so I needed to sit still for a bit.
‘Should I just go home?’
Maybe I should go write that Tenga review.
* * *
"Yawn."
Maybe it was because I’d stayed up all night at the PC room, but I ended up waking up late on Sunday.
The video I’d sent to Senior Ju-hee early this morning received high praise, with her calling it "the best." I replied "no" to Choi I-seo when she asked if I wanted to work out today.
I was having a simple breakfast of toast while browsing the Bamboo Forest.
I check it every day, but it felt strangely like it had been a while.
Perhaps because it was the weekend, the religious clubs were out in full force.
"Good grief."
Why pick a fight when they’re at their peak?
As Yoo Ah-rin experienced before, messing with the religious clubs on a Sunday just makes the Bamboo Forest a toxic mess.
Club promotion posts are limited to three per day, so I waited, ready to hand out one-day bans to anyone who exceeded the limit, while browsing other posts.
A moment later, an actual inquiry from 113 arrived.
"Seriously."
Why is this guy fighting on the Bamboo Forest since lunchtime?
I gave a 'like' to the post by Yoo Ah-rin—the literal textbook example of a manager—and stood up to stretch.
I had some breathing room thanks to the all-nighter I pulled editing.
But since finals were coming up, I decided to finish everything early and went to wash up.
‘Should I go back to the PC room?’
I hated the idea of going back so soon, but it wasn't like I could just buy a computer.
Especially since I’d be working part-time during winter break and moving into the dorms starting my second year.
"Ugh, so much work."
I washed up quickly, put on a hat, and was heading out when my phone rang.
— Choi I-seo -
"Yes, this is Kim Woo-jin, the man who knows the golden ratio for toast: 7 parts strawberry jam, 3 parts peanut butter."
— ...What's with the gimmick?
"I just ate bread."
— You know that wasn't funny, right?
"If I were funny, I’d be a social butterfly."
— What are you doing?
"What do you think?"
— Why are you like this today?
"…I’m going to the PC room. To finish my assignment."
— Zero PC Bang?
"Yeah. I pulled an all-nighter there yesterday, but I’m going back for more."
— How diligent.
I could hear Choi I-seo let out a small laugh over the phone.
— Let’s go together. I’m bored at home.
"You have Min-ji at home."
— Min-ji is binge-watching a drama right now. I’m not allowed to touch her.
Good grief.
"Let’s meet at the PC room. Whoever gets there first, call."
— Okay.
I guess I’m hanging out with Choi I-seo today.
Humming to myself about how I’d just gained a subtitle slave, I arrived at the PC room.
Since I arrived first, I called Choi I-seo while greeting Chan-woo at the counter.
"You're here too?"
"Too?"
As I listened to the dial tone, I asked what he meant. Chan-woo pointed directly at the front row.
It was a literal All-Star lineup.
Pyo Jin-ho, Kang Han-gang, and Ahn Hyun-ho were sitting in a row.
"…Why are they here?"
"Han-gang Hyung and Jin-ho Hyung are enlisting soon. They’re trying to get tickets for a U-Ai concert before they go."
"How can they look so pathetic just by their backs? Why is Ahn Hyun-ho here?"
"They called him. To help with the ticketing."
They didn't contact me?
Why do I feel like an outcast?
— Hello? You there?
"Breaking news. Ahn Hyun-ho is here."
— …Can we go to a different PC room?
