Chapter 292: Hotel Arrival
“Ugh, I’m beat.”
I throw myself onto the fluffy bed covered in crisp white sheets.
Finally, Hawaii.
I remember getting off the plane at 5:00 AM, but by the time we reached the hotel Big Hyung arranged, checked in, and got our room keys, it was already 10:00 AM.
Is it the jet lag?
I let out a long sigh, my face buried in the pillow. We’d talked about eating as soon as we arrived, but I’m so tired I don’t even want to step foot outside.
We booked two rooms.
One for me, and one for the girls.
The hotel suites are massive, so there should be plenty of space for the girls and Senior Ju-hee to stay together. I noticed Yun-ji and Choi Jin-ah’s room was the same type as ours.
“Yaaaawn.”
My eyelids gradually grow heavy along with a long yawn. It’s getting harder to resist the exhaustion.
Knock, knock.
If it hadn't been for that sound, I would have spent the entire first day of the Hawaii trip fast asleep.
“Kim Woo-jin.”
It was Choi I-seo waiting outside. She looked refreshed, as if she’d already showered, and her light clothing gave off a distinct vacation vibe.
“Yawn... What is it?”
“Sleepy? The other girls are exhausted, too. It looks like we already missed the breakfast buffet.”
“Really?”
They’d made such a fuss about eating the hotel breakfast, but I guess they failed in the end.
“You don’t have the energy to go out and eat, do you? Why don’t we rest for a bit and then order room service?”
“Yawn... You guys order without me. I’m too tired.”
“I told you to sleep on the plane—yawn... Stop yawning, it’s contagious.”
“Sor-yaaaawn.”
“Geez, just go back to sleep. We’ll eat on our own.”
“Yeah, eat whatever. It’s all going on my tab anyway.”
I have the Black Card Big Hyung gave me, telling me to have a good time. I plan on swiping it so much this trip that the magnetic strip catches fire.
“Got it.”
With that, Choi I-seo slipped into the room next door.
She slept like a log on the plane, so I guess she isn't that tired.
Unlike me, she’d managed to get some high-quality shut-eye in a perfect posture, so she seemed to be in great condition now that we’d arrived. Seeing her fidgeting while we talked, I could tell she was a bit more excited than usual, even if she tried to hide it.
I really need to adjust to the time difference.
I started heading back to the bed like a zombie when the doorbell rang again.
“Woo-jinaaa.”
A voice drawled, soaked in fatigue.
When I opened the door again, Seo Ye-rin stood there, blinking sleepily.
“What?”
“I’m sleepy. I’m gonna sleep here.”
She came to my room just to sleep?
“Come in.”
I stepped aside, and Seo Ye-rin staggered inside. Just as I was about to close the door, something blocked it.
“Hm?”
A hand was caught in the door.
“Wa-Wa-Wait a second!”
It was Choi Jin-ah, her voice urgent as she grabbed the closing door.
“What the? Where did you come from?”
“I was just passing through the hallway. No, more importantly, did Ye-rin just go inside with you?!”
“Yeah, so?”
“A—A man and a woman are going in together?!”
“We’re dating. You know that.”
“Even so—”
“I guess you wouldn't know since you’ve been single your whole life. This is what couples do.”
“……”
“Let go.”
I pried Choi Jin-ah’s hand off and headed for the bed. Seo Ye-rin was already burrowing headfirst under the covers.
Since we’re both exhausted, it’s not like this will lead to sex, but Ye-rin’s body is soft all over, so she’s perfect to cuddle with while sleeping.
I was about to climb back into bed myself when—
Bang, bang, bang!
“Oh, for real.”
Why are there so many people determined to ruin my sleep? I considered just ignoring it, but the pounding was so intense I had to open the door again.
“Who is it now?”
There stood Senior Ju-hee, her hair still damp as if she’d just showered, her eyes darting around anxiously.
“W-Woo-jin. Is Ye-rin in here?!”
“Yeah, she is. She just got here. Said she’s gonna sleep.”
At that, she slapped her forehead and let out a long breath. Her gaze shifted slightly—it was filled with a sense of mission, so to speak.
She told me to wait a second, ducked into her own room, and came back out.
“H-H-Here! Make sure you use this!”
She handed me a condom.
“Senior…”
“You promised not to cause any accidents! Don’t make me use force, Woo-jin.”
“Sigh... I’m not going to do anything. I’m seriously so tired I’m just going to sleep.”
I wasn't joking; I felt like I could pass out the moment I closed my eyes.
Even though I asked her if she really wanted to see me collapse right here, she stubbornly pressed the condom into my hand.
“Just in case! You never know. What if you wake up and Ye-rin is right next to you? What if she goes to take a shower?”
“...Then I’d probably do it.”
“See?!”
Hmm.
Senior is certainly competent.
Her logic is airtight.
“But if I’m doing it right after waking up, I’ll probably be too caught up in the mood to even think about a condom.”
“Hieeeeeek!”
The owner of that exaggerated gasp wasn't Senior Ju-hee.
Wondering what the sound coming from behind the open door was, I looked past Senior.
“What are you doing?”
“……”
There was Choi Jin-ah, eavesdropping on the conversation with both hands clamped over her mouth.
She hadn't left yet.
Senior Ju-hee seemed to have known she was there but had just ignored her.
“Sigh, I’m going crazy.”
Regardless, Senior was already fretting over how to handle this hurdle at the very start of the trip.
“I have a good idea.”
Seo Ye-rin had approached from behind me. I thought she’d fallen asleep, but the noise must have woken her up.
“Let’s go, Woo-jin.”
She then linked her arm with mine for everyone to see and dragged me toward the girls' room.
As soon as we stepped inside, the first thing I saw was Yoo Ah-rin changing her clothes.
“Mommy! Holy shit! What are you doing?!”
Startled, she scrambled back into the bathroom.
“It’s not like I haven't already licked, sucked, tasted, and enjoyed everything anyway,” I muttered nonchalantly, causing the bathroom door to rattle.
“Shut up! You dog! If you saw a girl’s body, you should either apologize or give a compliment!”
“……”
Is that so?
Maybe I spoke too much like an old married couple.
I guess it did lack a bit of heart-fluttering excitement.
“Show me again. I’ll redo my reaction.”
“How are you gonna do it?”
“If I take off my pants, wouldn't you be able to tell immediately that I’m turned on?”
“That’s effective, but it makes me feel gross! Why did you even come in here?!”
I wanted to respond to the annoyed Yoo Ah-rin, but Seo Ye-rin kept pulling me along by the arm.
Our destination was the bed.
There were four beds in this room. She pushed me down onto one of them and then claimed the spot right next to me.
“What are you doing?”
Choi I-seo, who had been unpacking, came out to see what the commotion was and looked bewildered.
Senior Ju-hee and Choi Jin-ah, who had followed us in, also wondered what was going on.
Seo Ye-rin hugged me tightly as we lay together and whispered softly.
“If we sleep here, everyone can see what we’re doing.”
And with that, Seo Ye-rin fell fast asleep.
I was being watched by everyone else, but I was just too tired.
Ignoring them all, I closed my eyes while holding Seo Ye-rin.
*
“What’s with these two?”
Watching the two of them suddenly barge into the room and fall asleep in each other's arms, the others couldn't help but feel bewildered.
There were plenty of beds, but their eyes kept drifting toward the one where the two were sleeping.
It was the largest bed, but there was also something poignant about the way they looked sleeping together.
“Should I take a photo?”
Choi I-seo, seemingly used to this by now, brought out her phone.
Click.
She took a photo, looked at the sleeping pair with a smile, and then went back into her room.
“Has she lost her mind?”
Even if they were just cuddling, Kim Woo-jin was doing that with another girl, yet look at her—taking a photo as a 'travel memory' and going back to unpacking as if it were nothing.
“Did her mindset turn all 'open' just because we’re in America?”
Yoo Ah-rin couldn't understand it at all, nor did she want to.
She glanced at the others.
Choi Jin-ah was slinking away, and Min Ju-hee was letting out a sigh of relief.
Yoo Ah-rin stared at Min Ju-hee and asked, “Senior, what did you do to make them come over like this?”
“...I gave him this.”
Min Ju-hee sheepishly pulled out the condom she’d taken back. At that, Yoo Ah-rin asked with a complex, subtle expression, “Don’t tell me Kim Woo-jin laid a hand on you too, Senior?”
“Absolutely not.”
“Sigh... Right? That’s a relief.”
Kim Woo-jin was under the mistaken impression that he had. Min Ju-hee vowed to herself that she would set that straight during this trip.
However, even after hearing the answer, Yoo Ah-rin still had questions.
“Then why are you looking out for his condoms, Senior?”
“Because I’m his bodyguard. The real reason I came along was to make sure you guys don't cause any accidents here.”
At Senior’s explanation, Yoo Ah-rin crossed her arms and shifted her weight to one leg.
It was a sign that she wasn't convinced.
“You’re interfering in our relationship? To put it bluntly, you’re an outsider.”
“I was asked by the Vice Chairman.”
“Just because they’re family, does that mean they can interfere in everything regarding our relationship?”
The atmosphere began to grow heavy.
In terms of seniority, Yoo Ah-rin could be seen as being somewhat aggressive toward her senior.
But from Yoo Ah-rin’s perspective, she didn't want outside interference or intervention in an already complicated romantic situation.
“Whatever the case, it’s our choice. To me, it just looks like you don't respect that.”
“They want to prevent you from doing something you might deeply regret later in life.”
“Whatever happens between us is for us to choose and judge. We don't just prioritize immediate pleasure or fun. We think about the future, too.”
“I understand what you’re saying. And I respect that. But in the end, I’m someone who gets paid to do a job. That side requested it, and Woo-jin more or less accepted it, which is why I’m working like this.”
“So you’re doing the exact same thing even after getting burned by interfering with Oh Yun-ji?”
While their conversation continued to run in circles—
Clack.
Choi I-seo, now changed into workout clothes, stepped out of her room with an excited expression.
“What? What’s going on?”
The quick-witted Choi I-seo naturally noticed something was off.
However, Yoo Ah-rin intentionally changed the subject.
“Where are you going? You must be tired from the jet lag.”
“I’m not tired because I slept well on the plane. I saw that the hotel has a gym, so I’m going to go check it out.”
So that’s why she was so excited.
But the first thing she does after arriving at the hotel is go to the gym?
“Without eating? Is there a psychiatric ward instead of a gym? Because I think you need to go there.”
“Whatever. It’s good to work out, break a sweat, and then eat.”
Even as she said that, Choi I-seo pouted, seemingly aware that she wasn't exactly normal either.
Yoo Ah-rin, looking back and forth between Choi I-seo and Min Ju-hee, let out a sigh and headed for her suitcase.
“I’ll go with you. I don't want to stay here either.”
“What happened?”
“I’ll tell you there. Let’s go. But you just showered.”
“The notice said we have a private jacuzzi rental, too. I’m going to wash up there again after working out.”
“This is why people need to make money. Hearing 'jacuzzi' makes me want to give Kim Woo-jin a kiss.”
“I’m going to give him one later.”
With that, Yoo Ah-rin left with Choi I-seo.
Left alone in the room, Min Ju-hee watched the front door they’d exited through, then turned her gaze toward the bed at the sound of soft breathing.
Kim Woo-jin and Seo Ye-rin were asleep, huddled together.
After staring at them blankly for a moment, Min Ju-hee let out a sigh, took out her phone, and stepped out onto the spacious terrace attached to the room.
I really want a cigarette.
She smacked her lips, her head throbbing from the stress.
Korean hotels are entirely non-smoking, so you have to go outside to smoke. She wondered briefly what the rules were in Hawaii.
But since everyone else in the room was a non-smoker, she’d have to go outside to smoke anyway.
Min Ju-hee pulled out her phone and habitually dialed a number.
“Vice Chairman, this is Min Ju-hee. We have just arrived at the hotel.”
She immediately began reporting to her employer.
I’ll have to go have a smoke after this.
She’d thought it was no big deal.
But the fact that she was doing this was becoming quite a source of stress for Min Ju-hee herself.
