Cheering for a New Start -1
"…I slept well."
The morning sunlight was dazzling. Yesterday had been exhausting—taking down the boss, claiming the rewards. But with all problems resolved, I'd made it back safely with my women.
"Mm…"
Seon Yeowon was squirming and whimpering beside me.
"May I come in, Master?"
There was a knock at the door. It was An Sua.
"Yeah, sure."
"Hehe… Did you have fun last night—huh? Why is the director still dressed?"
"She must've been tired. She was out of it, so I told her to rest her eyes for a bit, and she passed right out."
"Mu-mu-mu, what?! That's ridiculous! She hogged you all to herself and didn't even provide any service?!"
"She could've been tired. I'm more surprised by you. You fought so hard yesterday and you're already up?"
"I'm always burning with love for you, Master!"
"Is that so?"
"Anyway! Director Seon, you beat me at rock-paper-scissors to get into Master's room last night! Ugh… so close."
An Sua pouted her lips. The noise must've woken her, because Yeowon rubbed her eyes and sat up.
"Mm… Ah, Sunwoo? Why are you here… Is this a dream?"
"Get it together."
I gently stroked her head. Yeowon pressed her massive breasts against me, savoring the touch, then suddenly lifted her head as realization dawned.
"I remember. We fought zombies yesterday, I won rock-paper-scissors, and then…"
Yeowon turned her head shyly.
"Uh, um… How intense was it last night? Enough to black out my memory. So unfair—"
"Why don't you check the clothes you're wearing again?"
"My clothes? Uh… Oh?"
Her underwear was still on, pristine and untouched.
"You didn't… put them back on me, did you?"
"I'm not that much of a gentleman…"
Yeowon's face crumpled.
"Did I… fall asleep?"
"Yeah."
"Why didn't you wake me!"
"Even I don't want to do it with someone who's got their eyes fully shut."
Seon Yeowon's face flushed deep red with embarrassment. It was different from before. The shy look she'd had moments ago was in 'aww' territory, but now it was closer to 'Uwaaaaaah!!!'
"C-can we… do it now? Right now?!"
"You need to get up and eat. We've got plans to make too."
I felt the soft, voluptuous sensation in my hand. Her fingers wrapped perfectly around mine—it was exquisite.
"You're just groping my tits! Getting me all worked up and not giving me your cock?!"
"Oh."
I'd been absently fondling Yeowon's breasts. Just as she hadn't realized yet that 'we didn't have sex last night,' I hadn't noticed I was groping her chest.
"Shouldn't we eat quick and go check on the kids?"
"Th-the kids! Ugh…"
Yeowon bit her lip hard.
"Y-yeah. As much as it kills me… we need to head back as soon as possible."
"Don't worry too much."
"How can I not…"
Yeowon buried herself in my arms and began lamenting.
"I told them snacks are only for the table, but they leave crumbs everywhere—"
"Ah."
I absently glanced at my computer desk. There was a cheap coffee can, a 1.5-liter cola bottle with 20% left, a power bank, lotion, some mosquito repellent I'd forgotten about, a tumbler, and butter cookies in a plastic container.
"Sorry…"
"N-no! That's fine! They don't eat in bed!"
Being an orphanage director seemed like tough work in its own right. I comforted her by gently stroking her breasts.
"When I'm gone… if I leave like this, some kids always sneak off to watch TV. A few hole up in a small room playing board games—"
"Well, that happens."
I recalled my army days on TV duty and made a wistful face.
"If that was all… it would be fine."
"Huh?"
"Some kids sleep through it. Those ones wake up in the morning, right?"
"…Yeah."
"Kids don't have much patience by nature. If I were there, I'd care for them with love… but kids looking after kids with patience and endurance? That's not easy."
Her expression was deadly serious. I swallowed hard and listened.
"The kids trying to sleep at night get mad at the noisy ones. 'Why are you making noise when it's bedtime?'"
"…"
"Then, while the night owls are sleeping in, the early sleepers wake up. They turn on the lights, and since the director's not there, they blast the TV—"
"Ah."
It was a chain of tragedies. Logically, in this apocalypse world, I wondered if messed-up sleep schedules for kids was that big a deal… but Yeowon's face was too grave to brush off.
"Eventually, the kids start fighting, crying, and that wakes the sleepers. They get mad—"
Yeowon poured out a doomsday scenario like a prophet of ruin.
The door opened.
"Director?"
"Uh… huh?"
Lee Hari poked her head in.
"Oh… you're doing that?"
Hearing her, I realized I'd been absently kneading Yeowon's breasts.
"N-no! It's not—"
Like a couple caught mid-intimacy by their kid, Yeowon and I sprang apart, gauging Hari's reaction.
"Anyway, come out. Breakfast is ready."
Yeowon and I exchanged awkward smiles. An Sua, watching from behind, let out a deep sigh.
After breakfast, I spread the map out on the table.
"Alright, let's tally up what we got."
An Sua's eyes went wide.
"First, this map. Not super special, but it gives a rough lay of the local area."
"An artifact?"
"Uh… supposedly?"
It was the map gifted by the status window. It looked like plain paper, but infused with some mystical power.
"Updates terrain once a month, and with certain conditions, you can do more through it. All paid services, though."
In another place, this map alone might be treasure. Anseongu wasn't that harsh geographically. Still, it showed plenty.
"See the edges? Points to the east, west, north, south. Monsters will spawn from there from now on."
"We need a kill zone."
"Obviously."
If you knew where zombies spawned, you could post sentries or surveillance to control them. Station soldiers, and you could pick them off as they emerged.
Not feasible right now, though. Elite monsters seemed to spawn too. Unless you had the force to take them down immediately, better to leave them be.
"Looks like you can tweak monster options after claiming those areas, but later for that."
More precisely, it gave the right to choose byproducts from monsters, opting for stronger ones if desired.
But no bandwidth for monsters now. Later.
"As for the base… thinking Central Park as-is. Objections?"
"None."
"Me too… probably best."
"Gets us closer to the orphanage."
There was a small supply point nearby, plenty of space. Centrally located in Anseongu geographically—easy to expand.
"That settles it then."
Seohee tilted her head.
"That's it? That huge bastard, I figured something more special…"
"Besides base construction rights? Got skill points too… but yeah, something even better."
Leveled up a few times, netting three empty skill points. But as Seohee said, a bigger reward.
"When building the base, we get a free comm tower."
"Comm tower?"
I nodded.
"Treats everything as safe zone, immune to zombie attacks. Special facility. Within Anseongu, all comms gear works."
Seohee, Yeowon, Hari, Roa—all gawking at me.
"No way."
"Not just sending signals… full transmit and receive? Incredible."
"Heard Katus had something similar… but not this good."
Basic radio broadcast wasn't rare—big facilities sending voice, radios receiving.
But my reward comm tower went beyond.
"Yeowon, phones in the building, right?"
"O-of course!"
With this, I could call her anytime on my cell. Link the new base-apartment-orphanage organically. Solid reward.
"Yeowon and Hari head to the orphanage first. Rest of you ate… shall we build the base?"
Hari gave me a resentful look. But she was needed there still.
"Sounds good!"
"Let's go."
I led my women and recent guests into Central Park.
"Whoa, it's all cleaned up?"
I'd planned to build where the ground wasn't cracked, but no need. The fissures from yesterday's massive zombie were neatly gone.
Just build the base. I opened my status window.
"F-first time seeing a base get made…"
"Who here has? Anyway, hurry. Buildings popping up outta nowhere?"
An Sua and Seohee watched expectantly. I smiled faintly and selected base construction.
And something appeared.
"…Huh?"
A single workbench popped up.
That was it.
I recoiled from the sudden unease.
"This… is handmade?!"
My hollow shout echoed across the wide park.
