The First Step Toward the Invitation
Managing his equipment with the suit on, too.
Healing minor wounds, too.
Settlement Complete.
By the time he realized he was thinking, the settlement was already over.
Yoo Sung-jun looked over what the mission had awarded him—what the system had called achievements.
◈ [Infector Extermination: 1,080 Points]
◈ [Slayer: 500 Points]
◈ [Merciless: 300 Points]
◈ [Immortal: 1,000 Points]
Total: 2,880 points
He was honestly a little dazed.
This wasn’t the tutorial after its difficulty had been raised to D rank; it was just an F-rank mission, and yet he’d earned more points than that by a long shot.
That’s the advantage of solo play, I guess...
Though the Infector extermination was carrying a huge share of the total.
If he’d gone into the mission in a two-man team, or three, or even a larger party, the points would probably have topped out at only a few hundred.
What really mattered were the achievements.
“What about Slayer? And what are Merciless and Immortal supposed to mean?”
Those were elements that hadn’t existed in 1.0, which only made him more curious.
Loki explained them helpfully.
Among those deployed on the mission, the person who exterminates the most Infector is awarded the Slayer achievement. Merciless is awarded for defeating enemies that were not included in the mission objective. Immortal is awarded if you take no damage at all during the mission.
“So even the point rewards for the same achievement change depending on difficulty?”
That is correct.
If this much came from F rank, then how much would E or D rank missions pay?
When he asked, Loki said he’d have to find that out for himself.
Yoo Sung-jun nodded and took off his equipment.
He’d have to buy oil, lubricant, and a few other things tomorrow.
Maybe the hardware store will have it...
At this rate, he’d be able to strengthen his gear and buy an Invitation at the same time.
It was only one step, finally taken, but he’d already gotten quite a bit closer to his goal.
He smiled faintly and headed home.
Instead of rot, a rich, savory smell rose to meet him, making his mouth water.
Someone rushed out of the kitchen, apparently sensing him coming.
It was his younger brother, wearing an all-out furious expression.
“Hyung! You could’ve at least said something before you left! I couldn’t get a hold of you at all, seriously.”
Looks like he’d have to calm his brother down before he ate dinner.
