Chapter 130: Why I Farm Large Hospitals
Surprisingly, the reward was simple.
"Whoa."
[Hospital Director's Scalpel of Life (4★)]
– Sharpness (4★)
– Lightness (4★)
– Durability (4★) (1,000 / 1,000)
– Damage to humans and zombies +5
– 40% chance to inflict Bleeding (4★) on wounds cut by the scalpel. (Cannot stop bleeding with Level 3 or lower Healing Modes for 600 seconds)
Honestly, I hadn't expected much.
It was a Level 4 zombie, but since I hadn't gotten any good drops while farming lately, it would be more accurate to say I hadn't even given it a thought.
I had only come here to get zombie meat, and my entire focus was on the preventive vaccine (1/5) I'd get upon clearing this dungeon. I hadn't really thought about whether a fucking amazing Level 4 item would drop.
That made the joy even greater.
"Whoa. Holy shit. A special item."
Among my items, the "Fang of the Millennium Viper" was a Level 3 special item.
But this time, a Level 4 special item had dropped.
Not only did it have Level 4 Sharpness, Lightness, and Durability, along with +5 damage, but it also had a 40% chance to inflict a Level 4 Bleeding effect.
I suppose it was because it was a scalpel used to perform Specialist Medical Swordsmanship on people.
Stopping a wound from bleeding is a crucial survival factor for both humans and zombies.
Even if you get wounded, you have to stop the bleeding quickly to prevent further damage.
If you can't stop the bleeding even from a small wound, blood will keep draining out. A human lacking blood will start feeling dizzy and could eventually lose their life.
It's not much different for zombies.
They just don't feel pain, but zombies have similar death triggers as humans.
It's just that their life force is so tenacious that they only seem like they don't die easily.
"I'm lucky."
I came to farm and ended up picking up something that could truly be called a jackpot.
What were the odds of killing a Level 4 zombie for the first time, having it be the dungeon boss zombie, and getting such a special item to drop?
I carefully packed the scalpel away.
This was a weapon I could use for a really long time.
"Hmm."
A few other Level 4 items had dropped as well, but they weren't nearly as impressive as the Level 4 scalpel, so I just shoved them into my backpack.
After a moment of hesitation, I stripped the hospital director's bloody gown and put it in my backpack.
You never know.
He might or might not be Yeon Ji-yoon's father, but if he was, I should at least bring this back as a keepsake.
The scalpel would make the most fitting keepsake, but there was no fucking way I was going to do something as crazy as giving away a Level 4 scalpel as a memento.
I also went into the hospital director's office to farm.
You might wonder what could possibly be in a hospital director's office, but this was a dungeon.
The hospital director's office was essentially the dungeon's boss room, so it would be stranger if there was nothing there.
"As expected."
The hospital director's drawers contained a large quantity of vaccines.
There were barely any Level 1 vaccines; most were Level 2, and there were even Level 3 vaccines.
It was indeed a Level 3 dungeon.
Just like back at Seongsu Station, dungeons were dangerous, but they provided rewards that more than made up for it.
While there were many candidates for the greatest reward in a zombie apocalypse, no one could deny the truth that vaccines were in the top three.
At any moment, in any situation, vaccines were always the right answer.
They were so right that there was actually a decent-sized faction of players—not just a tiny minority—who refused to even treat anyone using a Vaccine Mode as a real player, claiming it ruined the very essence of the zombie apocalypse genre.
Since they were so valuable, as long as you had them, you could sell them for whatever price you named.
You can easily tell the value of a vaccine just by looking at how I got to fuck Oh Se-i, who was a virgin, in exchange for saving her.
Even though she was a virgin—whether she had guarded it her whole life or just hadn't had the chance to lose it—she gave her body to a man she had met for the first time, all in exchange for him using a vaccine on her.
"Another delicious farm today. Gulp."
I'd packed everything worth taking.
I'd gotten an unexpected weapon, and I'd successfully tested my newly acquired Hunting Expert skill.
I've gathered medical supplies and a ton of meat.
All that was left was to clear out the remaining zombies, claim the dungeon rewards, and thoroughly sweep up the quest rewards.
"I'll pull an all-nighter, farm until tomorrow afternoon, and then head back."
Once I got back, slept, and woke up, there would be exactly one day left.
On the day the 2nd Zombie Rush begins, I'll head to Yongsan.
-------------------------------------------

[Repeat Quest 2-4]

Every little bit adds up.
By clearing Repeat Quests 1 and 2, I got 2 Points and 6 Normal Mode Level Selection Tickets. On top of that, clearing the dungeon quest gave me 5 Points and other rewards.
My total Points reached 10, and my Normal Mode Points exceeded 30.
"I'm stuffed."
I had steadily gathered and sent back meat, and I'd also obtained quite a few minor items.
While completely clearing out the inside of Hanyang University was impossible, at this point, its role as a Demonic Lair was practically over.
If I left this place now, there would probably only be enough zombies left for future survivors to easily clean up and use as a base.
I finished farming exactly at my scheduled time and returned without any lingering regrets.
Fatigue washed over me since I had pulled an all-nighter.
Pulling all-nighters was something I used to do as naturally as breathing when playing Zombie Apocalypse, but it had been a really long time since I'd pulled one in reality.
I had always managed to get at least a little bit of sleep.
Staying up the entire night was probably a first, except for the very early days of the zombie apocalypse.
Well, since my Stamina was high, pulling a single all-nighter didn't really deal much of a blow, but mental fatigue was still something I had to watch out for in reality.
When I returned home, everyone was busy preparing for the Zombie Rush that was happening the day after tomorrow.
They were also preparing to close up the shops.
They said the day after tomorrow, but since it started at midnight tomorrow night, it was practically tomorrow.
"Oppa!"
As I entered the Residential District, Kim Ji-hee, who happened to be heading home from the warehouse, ran over and threw her arms around me.
"You worked hard."
"How's the sorting going?"
"We've completely stocked the cafeteria with meat, and our warehouse is filled up to 80%. You brought back so much this time that I don't think we'll have to worry about meat for a while."
"That's why I went."
I couldn't even remember how many backpacks' worth of loot I'd sent back.
Since meat dropped in 10kg increments, even by a simple calculation of 10kg per 5 zombies, having killed over 1,000 Level 1 zombies meant I'd brought back over 20 tons of meat.
On top of that, there would be rare meat, and though the numbers of Level 2 and Level 3 zombies were smaller compared to Level 1, adding them all up would make the total amount staggering.
"Since we'll be staying indoors starting tomorrow, I plan to sort through the weapons then."
"Sure, sounds good."
"As for the medical supplies, I sent everything except the vaccines to the hospital warehouse... The doctors and pharmacists will probably sort them out."
"What about ours?"
"I put the household medicines in the house and stocked some in the warehouse too."
"Good."
Honestly, we didn't really need medicine.
Kim Ji-hee had Level 10 Healing, so what was the point of medicine?
Since I could also use Kim Ji-hee's skills, as long as at least one of us was alive, using a skill was faster and more reliable than using medicine.
Even so, it was still good to keep medicine on hand.
Because there was always that 1% chance of something unexpected happening.
"Anyway, I'm going to wash up and sleep, so don't wake me up even if something happens."
"Ah... okay!"
I tossed my blood-soaked clothes into the waste disposal area and stepped into the hot spring to soak.
"Ah, sex."
As expected, there was nothing like a hot spring to wash away dried, crusty blood after a fierce battle with zombies.
The hot spring water would get dirty, but the continuously circulating automatic hot spring water system relieved me of that worry.
I let my body go limp and surrendered myself to the hot water.
Drowsiness washed over me.
After soaking in the hot spring for about thirty minutes, I thoroughly washed my hair and face, then threw myself onto the bed and fell asleep.
Sleeping in a bed was definitely much better than sleeping in a sleeping bag.
By the time I woke up from my death-like slumber, it was morning.
"How many fucking hours did I sleep?"
Seeing that Kim Ji-hee wasn't around, it seemed to be closer to lunchtime than morning.
I woke up feeling fucking starving.
I quickly got dressed and headed to the cafeteria.
Since the cafeteria and food shops were closed starting today, there were no customers.
Still, the people of Paradise had to eat, so Lee Mi-sook was cooking. Kim Ji-hee and the man from the Jamsil Sports Complex I'd seen a few days ago were sitting there.
"Oh? You're awake, Oppa. This gentleman came to request repairs for their outer wall. He came yesterday, but since you were sleeping, he came back today. He's asking if it can be done within today."
"Ah. You're going through with it? How many Coins do you have?"
The man said.
"I've gathered 50,000. What we want is the Jamsil Baseball Stadium and the Indoor Gymnasium. We're short by 10,000 Coins, so could you perhaps give us about two weeks' time? If not, we'll settle for the Main Stadium."
I nodded.
"Do you really think that's going to fly?"
