Chapter 122: A School Where Students Become the Masters
Everyone is inherently evil.
Believing that human nature is inherently evil, I gave these weak-willed students—who had nothing going for them but their sheer fucking numbers—a wake-up call.
"Just think about what these bastards have done to us until now! Follow your instincts, and you'll know exactly what to do!"
With that, I picked up the guy who had collapsed after being shot in the leg and threw him straight into the lake right next to us.
"Aaargh!"
Because of my monstrous strength, throwing a grown man was like tossing a pebble. He flew far through the air and splashed right into the middle of the lake.
He immediately began flailing as he resurfaced, suggesting the water wasn't particularly deep.
But his leg was injured.
Even though it was shallow enough that he could have easily swum out under normal circumstances, he now struggled to even keep his head above water.
"He... help... gurgle, splash, splutter."
Even in shallow water, there's a huge difference between whether your feet can touch the bottom or not.
It seemed his feet couldn't reach the bottom here.
In the end, if he couldn't keep himself afloat, he would swallow water and drown.
I turned my attention away from the guy desperately trying to dog-paddle back to shore.
Whether he lived or died didn't matter.
What mattered was showing everyone that these bastards were being punished.
Before I knew it, the students were already dealing with the rest of the wounded.
There is a concept called the Broken Windows Theory.
I'm not sure if that's the exact name, but it basically means people don't hesitate to throw stones at a window that's already broken.
They might have been too afraid to make the first move against a terrifying opponent.
But since I had already shot them in the legs, the students unleashed their pent-up rage without a shred of guilt.
"Aaargh!"
"Save me!"
"You crazy bastards! I'm going to die!"
"Just die, you fucking assholes!"
"Motherfucker."
They clearly held a massive grudge.
A lot of women came forward to vent their anger, likely because those bastards had used their power and strength to force themselves on them.
Tsk, tsk.
If you're going to fuck someone, you should do it like me—without leaving any loose ends.
This is what happens when you sloppily resort to rape.
I didn't storm the Student Council building right away.
Around the College of Engineering building, where the Student Council was holed up, another barricade had been erected.
It was a clear statement of intent: a strong resolve to defend against any potential rebellion, and an inner wall marking the boundary from the outer wall—a territorial claim saying, We are different from you.
"Surround this place. Don't let a single one of them escape."
Then, I contacted Kim Ji-hee.
"Oppa? Is it going well?"
"Yeah. Go to the warehouse and send me a megaphone."
"Through a donation?"
"Yeah."
"Are you going to turn on the broadcast?"
"It's already on."
About three minutes later, a megaphone materialized through a donation.
It seemed like nothing special, which actually made it a rare item.
I switched on the megaphone and shouted.
"Today is the day we eliminate the Student Council and the students become the masters of this school! I want all students in every building to gather at the College of Engineering! Do not hide! Even if it is dangerous and terrifying, you must stand and fight! In this world, if you don't fight, you die anyway! How much longer will you live as slaves to fear? If we unite, we can protect Konkuk University even without the Student Council, and we can coexist on equal footing!"
My voice boomed across the vast campus, and people began to gather one by one.
Some of them belonged to the Student Council or were their lackeys, but there was no way the other students wouldn't recognize them.
"Grab that bastard!"
"Huh? What?"
They had wandered out to see what was happening, only to be forced to pay for their past sins.
The students were completely unrestrained now.
The crowd surrounding the College of Engineering grew larger and larger.
For a group described as a small faction, there were easily over three hundred people gathered around the building already.
It was enough people to completely encircle the entire building.
Everyone sat down together, waiting for what would happen next.
Once they were assembled, I distributed the food boxes I had received through donations.
"They will have to come out eventually. We can deal with them then. Let's punish them! Let's settle the score for how they treated us like dogs and pigs, using us as tools for their own luxury. Then, we will vote to elect representatives who will actually work for us!"
The students cheered at the sight of food.
It took a massive amount of food to feed three hundred people, but they only needed to eat for tonight anyway.
How many people were inside?
When I asked, I was told that about thirty to forty people belonged to the Student Council, and another seventy to eighty parasites sucked up to them to survive.
Since twenty to thirty of them had already been caught or punished outside, mostly just the core Student Council members would be left inside.
"Listen up, Student Council! Dissolve your fucking faction right now, come out, and apologize for your misdeeds! If you do, we will settle this with a reasonable punishment. But if you don't, the students' wrath will not stop here."
Leaving the silent building behind, I listened to some of the students' stories.
The situation at Konkuk University.
I always found this kind of thing quite entertaining.
In a zombie apocalypse game, listening to the NPCs' backstories with such vivid detail made it feel like real life.
But this was actual reality.
I could hear everyone's unique circumstances and raw, firsthand accounts.
There was nothing particularly special about it.
It started when the zombie apocalypse broke out on campus. Trapped by the overwhelming number of zombies, they had no choice but to hold out in a few buildings.
Then, a few people who had received decent skills began clearing out the zombies on campus bit by bit.
That was how the Konkuk University faction was formed.
After that, the faction solidified around the active "Student Council" organization. They began expanding their influence outward, growing their numbers and farming for food.
In the process, those deemed useless were demoted to "students" who did menial labor. The middle managers who controlled them were called "assistants," and the Student Council members took on the title of "professors," establishing a strict hierarchy.
They might have used the terms "students" and "professors," but the treatment of the students grew worse by the day. Violence was the norm, and the assistants routinely took female students away at night to rape them. The school was rotting to the core, to the point where such atrocities had become completely normalized.
Even their so-called "classes" were just a euphemism for pressuring "useful" women into selling their bodies. They would hand out a few coins and run a themed brothel to rake in profits.
"Yeah, they deserve to die."
Honestly, even if I hadn't shown up, they were acting so terribly that a rebellion could have erupted at any moment.
Even I don't run Paradise like that.
Sure, I establish hierarchies and distribute benefits too.
But if you push people to the absolute brink, they are left with only one choice.
They bite.
It's either die or bite, and what wouldn't a dying person do?
That's why I just kill the motherfuckers who cross the line.
Dead men can't bite.
But these idiots acted like pieces of shit without the balls to finish the job, which is why a full-blown riot broke out after just a few words of instigation from me.
After waiting a few hours, I pulled out a grenade.
I could have easily gone in alone and wiped them all out, but that wouldn't do.
The students had to be the ones to take over Konkuk University.
Frankly, I didn't care whether Konkuk University fell, submitted to me, or was taken over by the students.
All that mattered was that Faction Quest 2 and 5 cleared together so I could pocket the points.
I pulled the pin on the grenade and tossed it toward the heavily reinforced barricade.
Boom!
With an ear-splitting explosion, the entrance blew wide open.
"Huh?"
"The way is open!"
"Charge!"
The students were no longer afraid.
They were already united, over three hundred strong.
Of course, the Student Council members inside were the ones who had cleared out the zombies from Konkuk University.
They had wiped out the undead in a place that was practically a Demonic Lair.
Even against these numbers, they could easily hold their ground if they utilized the narrow terrain.
That was probably why they were holed up inside instead of coming out.
They figured the students would find it too risky to force their way in.
Too bad for them, that wasn't going to happen.
Near the entrance, the students who had rushed in were thrown back.
Dead or wounded.
The fierce resistance made the crowd hesitate for a moment.
I decided to give them a little encouragement.
Drawing my dagger, I stepped into enemy territory.
About thirty of them were packed into the wide first-floor hallway, standing shoulder-to-shoulder to guard the entrance.
No wonder the students—most of whom were non-combatants—had been repelled immediately.
I slipped right into their ranks, slicing through at least two limbs on each of them.
"Aaargh!"
"Fuck! He's inside!"
"Get him!"
"He's too fucking fast!"
"Gark!"
Every now and then, I stabbed a particularly noisy one in the throat as I passed.
Although the hallway was packed with sweaty bodies, by utilizing "Time Acceleration," "Time Deceleration," and "Cat Step," I didn't take a single stray hit.
Since I could see the trajectories of every attack coming from all directions, getting hit would have been more surprising.
After making a quick sweep, I slit the throat of the guy at the very front and strolled back out.
I shouted to the students who were hesitating at the entrance.
"We can do this!"
"Waaaaah!"
"Holy shit... what the fuck is that guy..."
The students charged back in.
Unlike before, the Student Council members were pushed back.
It was hard to fight back when at least one of your limbs had been rendered useless.
Before long, the students had completely occupied the College of Engineering building.
The professors and students belonging to the Student Council were forced to their knees in a row outside, bound tightly.
By that point, I quietly slipped away.
There was no need for me to do anything else.
The more proactive ones among the students took charge and began executing the punishments.
Whatever happened next would unfold on its own without my intervention.
I left Konkuk University behind.
[Quest Complete!]
I wondered how the seeds I had sown would bloom once the Zombie Rush was over.
I was genuinely looking forward to it.
Would Konkuk University actually change?
