Seoul City Hall Falls
I cleanly sliced through Do Jingwang's neck, and his body tilted sideways as his head separated from it, thudding to the ground.
With this bastard as the last one, the entire Seoul City Hall faction had now died by my hand.
Checking Do Jingwang's status window, he had some pretty decent specs.
He wouldn't fall too far behind Ha Dongseok in comparison, and especially his skills seemed a cut above Dongseok's.
He had a offensive skill called Three Calamities Technique, which boosted damage with a simple sword swing motion, and a defensive one called Mana Armor that protected his body using mana.
It was a shame I couldn't use Skill Theft since all his skills were tied to Combat Expert.
Keeping him alive might've had some use somewhere, but letting him go here would've looked too suspicious in the grand scheme, so it was an unavoidable choice.
Plus, no guarantee he'd obey me even if I spared him.
I don't take in anyone who doesn't swear loyalty and come crawling under me.
I show a bit of flexibility for pretty girls like Yoo Sora, but this dickhead tries to rebel even while begging to join? I'd have chopped his head off on the spot.
Saying it like this might make it sound like I regretted killing Do Jingwang a lot, but honestly, not that much.
Guys like him? Roaming the country, you'd find one or two similar ones easy. He's not some freakishly outstanding talent.
Maybe if he was the type who hit 2nd place in the zombie wave rankings, I'd consider him useful.
Otherwise, better to only pick guys who pledge absolute loyalty to me.
In that sense, Ha Dongseok really listens well. Like a dog who says he'll do anything for his master?
Compared to when we first met, I'm treating him pretty leniently now. Just recently, I even paused to think about rescuing women instead of making him hunt zombies nonstop in this zombie apocalypse under my orders.
So no, killing Do Jingwang wasn't something I regretted that much.
But asking if I hated him enough to absolutely want him dead? Nah, not that either.
I don't have any real grudge against this guy.
He did try to mess with Yoo Sora, but it didn't piss me off that bad.
Yeah, past and present, he went after Yoo Sora, who became my property.
But if you ask if I care about her enough to rage over it? Not really.
It's not like we've known each other long enough for deep feelings to build.
Maybe the image stuck because she sucked my dick naked in front of all her subordinates?
Didn't feel great that Do Jingwang tried to touch her, but not exploding-with-rage level, so I didn't give him an agonizing death.
Thanks to him flipping out, I got full rights to do whatever to Yoo Sora.
If he handed me a good opportunity, why not? He didn't really do much to piss me off.
Compared to Seo Taeil, who tried to backstab me, this was a painless send-off.
Seo Taeil was left with his limbs crushed, barely a bottle of water over three days. Couldn't move properly, starving, thirsty—easy to imagine how hellish that was.
There were ways to make it worse, but with the zombie wave, Yoo Sora stuff, everything piling up, I didn't check on him properly.
From Seo Taeil's view, he should thank his luck I was busy.
I know exactly how to make someone beg for death in agony.
Tortured enemies for info back in the isekai world.
Compared to that bastard Seo Taeil, Do Jingwang's one-swing decapitation was a clean death.
What if Do Jingwang had gone nuts wanting Yejin instead of Sora? Would I have acted different?
Hard to imagine, but yeah, I'd probably be pretty pissed.
Yejin's more useful to me right now and closer to my heart than Sora.
Anyway, with this, the standoff between Seoul Station and City Hall was neatly resolved.
I looked around, confirmed no more business for me, and immediately opened my status window.
Name: Kim Jaehwan
Level: 25
Traits: Technician, Base Manager, Third Financial Institution
Additional Points: 23
Current Coins: 212,735 coins
What? That's it?
I earned about 1,200 coins from zombie kills this morning.
Once the zombie wave ended, zombie numbers around here dropped sharply, so couldn't farm as much as expected.
And from wiping Do Jingwang's crew? Around 1,000 coins.
Even with Plunder letting me steal skills from kills, that's all? Means they dumped every coin they earned straight into skill upgrades.
They each got 2,000 coins post-wave yesterday, but blew it all without saving, leaving me scraps.
Fuck, these assholes.
Even a little more would've been nice. Way too little.
Honestly, with about 15 guys, I figured 10-20k coins minimum. Got a tenth of that. Disappointing.
Well, wasn't killing them for coins anyway. Bonus at best.
Stashed the Reaper Blade in my subspace, turned, and slowly walked toward Yoo Sora, who stared blankly.
As I approached, a few backed away fearfully.
Probably from the bloody show I put on killing. If I'd used black magic, they'd have died without knowing what hit 'em, but this etched me into their minds.
That baldy clutching his wounded shoulder, dazed—won't even dream of opposing me now.
By the time I reached Yoo Sora, the runners had fled, leaving only those who'd talked properly in the meeting room.
"There, City Hall scum handled as you wished. Satisfied now?"
"Y-yes... thank you... No casualties on our side thanks to you."
I timed it perfectly, so no one got hurt.
Now Yoo Sora was mine to do with as I pleased. Tell her to drop her pants and spread right now? No refusing.
But no rush. Caught fish—eat when hungry.
"Hmm... so what's next? Can you fix that breached barricade?"
Pointed at the gap Do Jingwang's crew smashed to invade Seoul Station.
Honestly, no clue how. I have Base Manager trait for barricades, but never had one breached.
Mine at home? Even Takers can't dent it.
Never broken, so curious how repairs work.
The guy who designated Seoul Station as base raised his hand at my question.
"Barricades recover HP over time, and broken parts auto-repair just like that."
"Oh yeah? Handy."
Knew they had HP regen, but auto-repair too? Nice.
"How long till full repair? Know that?"
"Not fully destroyed, so not too long. About a day. Fixed by this time tomorrow."
"A day? Faster than thought. So how you holding out till then?"
With the main barricade breached, no guarantee zombies won't squeeze through.
Aggro from noise inside? Horde pours in, smashes more on impact.
Yoo Sora's strong, Party Creation buffs allies, but can't handle endless waves.
Plus, peeking inside, more non-combatants than fighters.
One breach, and it's hell.
My barricade? Never breached. Big difference.
Asked how they'd survive—they glanced around, no answers.
No quick fix for the gap visible.
Just one day...
"Hide at my base just for tonight. Can't let you inside, but zombies won't be an issue."
"That okay?"
"If I say so. But no sharing tonight's feast. Gift for my hard-working crew from the wave."
Didn't work? Don't eat.
Yoo Sora pondered, then nodded—refuge at my base for the night.
