The Ranch's Hidden Depths
Maria showed me around the large communal bathhouse and dining hall in the middle of the ranch, then discreetly introduced me to the breeding rooms tucked away to one side.
“Normally, this is where the dairy cows relieve their sexual urges with various toys, or where staff like handlers and researchers come to mate with them.”
“It’s a win-win for everyone involved in satisfying those urges. But what do you mean by ‘normally’?”
“There are people who provide a lot of support to the dairy cow park. We invite them and treat them to this.”
“Ah, like how the mares secretly entertain their sponsors.”
“Isn’t that how it always works? Let’s go inside and take a look.”
When she opened the soundproof door with its privacy curtain, the raw sounds of panting breaths spilled out.
“Looks like we have some users right now.”
The breeding rooms, separated only by simple partitions between the beds, were filled with pairs in the midst of relieving their desires. Dairy cows with milk-heavy, voluptuous breasts swayed as they threw themselves into sex, mingling with men in various outfits, radiating intense heat.
“The breeding rooms may look simple, but they’re equipped with the latest facilities. The ceiling ventilation system automatically regulates smell, humidity, and temperature, and the auto-cleaners installed in the beds handle cleaning on a regular basis.”
“No wonder the air feels so fresh even in this enclosed space.”
One of the men glanced around at the sound of our conversation and met my eyes. Startled, he froze until I smiled and nodded for him to continue. He gave an awkward smile in return before turning back to the dairy cow and resuming his thrusts.
“This kind of facility would work well in the mares’ stable buildings too. By the way, how are you handling the pregnancy issue?”
“We don’t force anything. We let the dairy cows decide for themselves.”
“Ah, that makes sense. Dairy cows don’t do intense exercise like racing. And if they give birth?”
“We’ve all agreed that daughters will be raised as dairy cows alongside their mothers, and sons as handlers.”
“I see. I heard the mares have started breeding again to produce a second generation. Are you still using rapid growth periods?”
“There’s no set regulation yet, so it’s decided based on the sponsor who applied for breeding and the mare’s own wishes.”
“Hmm…”
Turning them into adults through rapid growth periods, then implanting fabricated memories and egos into their brains to create a fully formed mare in a short time would be the most efficient method. But the side effects are far worse than the new rapid growth device that uses vital energy, so I’m not drawn to it. Personally, I think it would be better to let them grow up alongside their mothers while using growth accelerators to shorten the development period.
After leaving the breeding rooms, we headed to the nearby research lab. The familiar white building was filled with researchers in equally familiar white lab coats and all kinds of experimental equipment. Maria greeted everyone who bowed to her as we passed.
“It took some effort to gather only the researchers who had been working on dairy cow-related projects from the underground labs.”
“Weren’t there places conducting inhumane, cruel experiments?”
“Of course. We disposed of anything too extreme. Everyone here passed personality screenings—they’re all decent people.”
As we walked through the research wings, Maria briefly explained what each one mainly studied. One lab was improving slimes to enhance milk quality. Another researched nutritional supplements prescribed to dairy cows for the same purpose. Yet another developed milking machines and other dairy cow equipment for more efficient extraction.
“And this place researches and refines brainwashing nanobots and drugs.”
“You’re still doing brainwashing research? I thought you’d stopped.”
“You know better than anyone that brainwashing isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It helps women who’ve decided to become dairy cows adapt to their new profession.”
“Thanks to that, even ordinary people adapt well to being dairy cows. Are the ones here brainwashed more intensely?”
“That’s right. That’s why the dairy cows here perceive themselves as closer to livestock than to humans.”
“Heh… That would definitely make it easier to adapt to communal living and a managed livestock lifestyle.”
If someone gives up their freedom as a human in exchange for satisfaction and happiness in a predetermined life as livestock, I suppose that’s acceptable. But while thinking that, a sudden question occurred to me.
“There’s one thing that bothers me. What will you do with the dairy cows when they grow old?”
“Hohoho… Good question. The next lab is the top-secret facility researching anti-aging technology.”
“There’s a path that goes further here?”
“Just wait.”
Maria pressed her finger firmly against one section of the blocked wall. A small terminal popped out, and she went through various security procedures. After iris recognition, voice pattern recognition, fingerprint recognition, and password entry, the floor opened to reveal stairs leading underground.
“Wow, a secret lab. How exciting.”
“This place is strictly off-limits. Only a select few with authorization can enter, and androids monitor the interior at all times.”
Following Maria down the stairs, we passed through an artificially complex corridor, cleared several checkpoints guarded by armed androids, and finally arrived at the lab.
“This is the largest research facility among my personal labs.”
“It really is big. I never expected a space like this underground…”
The dome-shaped space was enormous, with individual areas connected around a central passageway that divided the space. Through transparent glass doors, I could see researchers absorbed in their work, assisted by android aides.
Just then, one of the glass doors on the right opened, and a familiar face appeared.
“Maria, you’re here.”
“Isabel.”
“Huh, Isabel?”
From what I remembered, she was supposed to be working at one of Eden’s research institutions. Why was she here?
“Lady Elisha, it’s been a while.”
“Yeah, it has. Why are you here?”
“We brought her here on purpose because she’s a brilliant scientist and an Abaddon. Ability matters, but so does security.”
“Hoh, all the scientists here are Abaddons.”
“No wonder they were all women. They’re our kin.”
It seemed this lab conducted research important enough to hire only our own kind.
Following Isabel, who led the way, we entered the lab and sat in the lounge chairs. Soon, an android assistant brought tea and snacks, and we began to talk.
“So, how important is this anti-aging research that you’re this strict about security?”
“Important enough to cause massive chaos if humans found out?”
“Simply put, this is where we conduct various studies aimed at preventing aging.”
“Isn’t this the same as what Grandpa Faust is researching?”
“Hmm… The methods are different, I suppose? Faust pursues human-style immortality using only humans and biological materials, whereas we take a more comprehensive approach, employing all kinds of methods.”
According to Isabel’s explanation, they were researching every promising method they could find. The approach showing the most progress and results was genetic manipulation using nanobots—completely different from Faust’s direction.
“It’s a method of manipulating and preventing the fundamental cause of aging: genetic degradation. Every time a cell divides, the nanobots intervene to repair the degrading genes.”
“Since it only targets specific genes, progress is the fastest. Of course, that also limits its functions.”
“If aging is overcome, humanity’s lifespan would increase dramatically.”
“At the very least, we’d achieve imperfect immortality. That’s why we have a concern.”
“What kind of concern?”
Maria, who had been stroking her chin with a serious expression, spoke up.
“If lifespans increase, the population will naturally explode. Especially with humanity that never ages or loses its youth. Is that really a good thing? The enormous resources an exploding population would consume? The environmental pollution that would result? Once all monsters are gone and only humans remain, will peace truly come? In my opinion, peace will never come. Even now, when we’re only slightly freer from the monster threat, humans are still fighting and killing each other. If only humans remain, they’ll come up with countless reasons to wage war repeatedly until they destroy themselves.”
“Aren’t you being too negative? Humans are intelligent beings, so if there’s a problem, they’ll find a solution.”
The Earth dimension is also a human-centered world, yet somehow it maintains peace. Well, there have been rumors of war lately, but…
“We want to eliminate any potential risks as well. Humans are important beings that we Abaddons must coexist with.”
“We Abaddons must guide humans in the right direction.”
Maria and Isabel spoke with firm conviction in their eyes. It suddenly hit me that while they looked human on the outside, they were Abaddons inside.
“Anyway, that’s why we’re reluctant to make the technology public. Faust’s technology has the clear limitation of requiring a Succubus, so there’s less to worry about, but this technology is different.”
“Hmm…”
Limitations on technology application… What if we did this?
“Then let’s build limitations into this technology as well.”
“What do you mean?”
“We deliberately add restrictions so that lifespan has a limit. After a certain period, the nanobots stop functioning, or even if they don’t age, those who receive this technology can only live another fifty years—something like that.”
Both of them looked shocked at my suggestion. They were so surprised that I felt flustered instead.
“You want to impose limits on the technology yourself? How did you come up with that?”
“Maybe because I’m an ordinary person and not a scientist?”
“Is it really that surprising?”
“A scientist with pride in their own creation wouldn’t easily think of it. I see… deliberately imposing restrictions.”
“It’s not my ideal solution, but it has merit. We’ll discuss it.”
Both Maria and Isabel said they would consider my opinion positively. If the technology were commercialized with such restrictions, humanity might live an ideal life—enjoying youth and health before passing away. It would truly be a blessing of science.
“Anyway, we’ll consider doing it that way. Since we’ve come all the way here, why don’t you get the dairy cow modification too?”
“Again?”
She had suggested it before, and I’d refused. Now she was bringing it up again.
“Last time you said it would interfere with running, but you’ve retired now. Plus, the improvements have been steady—there’s even a slime that maintains the same size while only producing milk.”
“Honestly, Lady Elisha, you know your current breast size is enormous even for a mare, right?”
“Well, the breasts attached to my body right now are detachable biological parts, so I could just replace them if needed.”
“There’s no real reason to refuse, is there? Then get the procedure.”
As Maria said, there wasn’t really a reason to refuse, but my pride as a mare made me hesitate.
“Getting the dairy cow procedure as a mare feels a bit off. Besides, even Isabel, who’s involved, hasn’t done it.”
“Oh~ So you’ll do it if Isabel does it too?”
“Well… yeah.”
“Isabel, you get the dairy cow modification too.”
“Yes, Maria.”
Isabel agreed without a moment’s hesitation.
“Wait, can you decide that easily?”
“What’s so difficult about it? It’s just producing milk.”
“That’s true, but… you’ll be brainwashed.”
“Don’t worry. Since you and Isabel are both Abaddons and involved parties, we won’t perform the brainwashing. Now, let’s get ready.”
Maria and Isabel stood up from their chairs and rushed to prepare the dairy cow procedure without giving me a chance to stop them. They brought gloves, bottles of various liquids, and slimes, placed them on the table, put on peculiar-looking glasses, and spoke.
“Now take off your top.”
“Ah! My body belongs to Elisa, so I can’t just get the dairy cow procedure on my own, you know?”
“Elisa, yes. Understood. We’ve received permission.”
“Wait, when did you—?”
Isabel smiled, saying she had already called and gotten permission from Elisa. Their sudden momentum left me dizzy.
“Come on, take off your top. Good. My, my~ Who would’ve guessed you’re a Succubus who used to be an angel? Look at that sexy underwear.”
“You have piercings on your nipples?”
“Ah, because of the piercings, I can’t—”
“It’s fine since the milk ducts aren’t blocked.”
My last excuse was immediately shut down.
“Just give up and push your chest forward.”
“Ugh…”
Left with no choice, I straightened my hunched back and thrust my chest forward, which I had been covering with my arms. Maria and Isabel each lifted one of my exposed breasts, kneading them as they evaluated.
“Such fine breasts. The nipples are straight and pretty, and the milk ducts are well developed too.”
“Maybe because they’re artificially cultured, but they’re really clean. The amount and shape of the milk ducts in both breasts are almost identical.”
“Compared to that, mine are only large—the amount of milk ducts is actually on the lower side. And they sag too.”
“Well, they’re natural. But once the slime settles in, both the amount of milk ducts and the breast shape will improve significantly.”
Mm, this feeling… it’s been a while. This sense of depravity from being treated purely as livestock. The thrilling pleasure made me slightly aroused.
“But how can you tell the milk ducts are well developed?”
“When you wear these special glasses, you can see the subcutaneous milk duct tissue. It was developed to make managing the dairy cows’ breasts easier.”
It was fascinating how many strange devices existed—perhaps a unique characteristic of Eden that new technology developed in odd directions.
“I want to see too.”
“Here are the glasses.”
Looking down at my breasts through the glasses Isabel took from her pocket and put on me, I could strangely see the milk ducts inside faintly marked. It was an odd sight—milk ducts overlaid on the breasts—but I could make them out.
“The milk ducts on both sides really are formed in an amazingly similar way.”
“And there’s a huge amount. Usually, even if breasts are large, the amount of milk duct tissue stays the same and most of the rest is fat, but yours have a lot of milk duct tissue distributed evenly.”
“Hmm, is that good?”
“It means you’ll be an excellent dairy cow capable of producing a lot of milk. Now, let’s apply the cell softener first…”
Maria poured a generous amount of sticky liquid onto her gloved hand and began smearing it thickly over my breasts.
