Prologue: The Lowest-Rank Constellation
I had become the lowest-rank Constellation. Since I was just an ordinary university student with no special abilities or anything else to speak of, I had simply accepted it. But it turned out there had been an error in the rank selection process.
“Constellation? Hey, are you listening? I ranked up as an adventurer again this time. I’m already A-rank, and I might even shoot for S-rank soon. There are tons of Constellations lining up to contract with me right now.”
“Huh? So, how about we renew our contract? Back then… I was the one who screwed up! Come on, please?”
“Constellation, I formally request a recontract. I’ve realized that my agreement with the Court Jester was… completely inefficient.”
“No, actually, efficiency aside, I’ve come to realize that I liked you, Constellation.”
“Um… Constellation… Are you listening…? Umm… That incident back then wasn’t my true intention… I know it’s shameless of me, but… could you help me just this once…?”
