The Brothers' Time
Kang Segu spoke with a surprised expression.
"No way, why did you introduce him as just a travel YouTuber?"
"Because he *is* a travel YouTuber."
"He's got twice as many subscribers as I do!"
The chat window started scrolling rapidly again.
Did we invite the wrong guest today or something?
Whoa, check out his weight class. That's the #1 YouTube subscriber count here
Bro-VTuber hiding his subscriber count lol
With the introductions out of the way, the real explanation of the collab stream began.
Today's format involved playing a series of games to earn points.
Each Bro-VTuber and their brother would form a team.
The higher a team's final score, the better the prize they'd walk away with.
"And today's prizes are pretty good!"
When Kang Segu spread her hands, a prize list popped up on one side of the screen.
Third place was worth 300,000 won, second place 500,000 won, and first place a whopping 1,000,000 won gift certificate.
On top of that came personal gifts prepared by each participating Bro-VTuber themselves.
"For the personal gifts, everyone brought along one meaningful item each — a beloved plushie, something they use every day, signed merchandise, that sort of thing. These will be handed out randomly."
The chat reacted even more heatedly to the personal gifts than to the prize money.
You literally can't buy those with money
Whoa, an actual daily-use mug, that's insane
If you use that, isn't that an indirect kiss?
Sera's brother, who'd introduced himself as a doctor earlier, raised a question.
"But if it's random, could someone end up getting their own little sister's gift?"
"Yes."
"I'd rather not receive a mug my sister's been drinking out of."
Laughter erupted from all over.
But the biggest reaction of all came for the final prize.
"And now, a special prize for the Bro-VTubers participating in today's stream!"
The screen changed.
The avatars of famous Bro-VTubers appeared all at once.
"It's a special invitation to participate in the massive collab stream planned for the end of the year! You all know it, right? An invitation to the huge Minecraft server — Dinosaur Playground, Season 2!"
This time a murmur ran through the participants themselves.
My little sister beside me went completely rigid.
"What."
"That prize..."
Her voice was different from before.
"You want it?"
"More than anything."
I looked at the screen for a moment.
I had no idea how big a deal it was, but I could tell it was an important opportunity for her.
"Then we just have to win."
"...Huh?"
"Whoever wins gets it, right?"
"Well, yes, but..."
"Then let's win."
My little sister stared at me for a moment, then nodded her head vigorously.
"Yeah!"
The first game was announced.
"The first game is Charades!"
The rules were simple.
The Bro-VTuber would silently act out a given word with her body, and the brother who came along would have to guess it.
The more correct answers within the time limit, the higher the score.
If they were completely stumped, they could pass and move on to the next question.
First, a few teams took their turns one after another.
It wasn't as easy as it looked.
Some words had unmistakable defining traits, like the Little Mermaid, but the mix also included problems that made you wonder how on earth you were supposed to describe them with your body.
Esterina's team got caught properly.
"Ready, go!"
The question appeared.
Esterina checked the screen and froze solid on the spot.
After a moment's hesitation, she let both arms hang limp and began swaying weakly.
"...A ghost?"
Wrong.
Esterina shook her head furiously.
This time she flailed her arms wildly in all directions.
Her body twisted left and right as well.
"A zombie?"
Wrong again.
Esterina paused briefly.
Before long she spread her legs and wriggled her entire body.
Two arms apparently weren't enough — she whipped her hair around furiously too.
"...Seaweed?"
Esterina's movement stopped dead.
Seaweed lmaooo
Someone save Rina
She's screaming with her whole body lolol
But how are you even supposed to act that out
The prompt word wasn't visible from my side.
Judging from the motions alone, I had no clue what she was trying to convey.
Her avatar, which usually looked so calm and composed, writhing around in desperation was somehow cuter than I expected.
"Thirty seconds left!"
Esterina frantically pointed at each of her own arms in turn.
One.
Two.
And then she flailed around her body as if she had even more arms that didn't exist.
"...A jellyfish?"
Esterina clutched her head.
"Twenty seconds!"
"Ah, should we pass?"
Esterina waved both arms in big sweeping motions and shook her head.
It seemed she'd come too far to give up now.
She waved her arms again and squirmed her body.
This time she splayed all ten fingers wide.
"Ten seconds!"
"Don't tell me... an octopus?"
"Correct!"
Esterina collapsed straight onto the floor.
"Why did it take you so long to get that!"
"Excuse me, you have two arms! How was I supposed to guess octopus!"
"That's exactly why I struggled!"
He actually solved it
Should've passed lololol
One octopus ate the entire clock
Rina's death throes are art
"Time!"
Esterina looked up at her brother, still sitting on the floor.
"...Should've just passed."
"I told you that halfway through, didn't I?"
"But after all that, how was I supposed to pass!"
In the end, their score landed in the bottom tier.
Next up was a Bro-VTuber named Sama Chunja.
Deep red hair falling to her waist, with golden eyes that tilted slightly upward. Her figure-hugging black outfit was lavishly adorned with red accents.
She was the polar opposite of Esterina's calm, composed image.
My little sister had mentioned she was from a major corporation's stable, and the quality of her avatar certainly showed it.
Looks alone, she was pretty squarely my type.
Beside her stood a man using a basic male avatar, like the other guests.
He'd been a man of few words since the introductions, giving the impression he wasn't particularly invested in the broadcast.
"Go!"
The moment the first question appeared, Chunja flattened herself against the floor.
With both index fingers raised above her head, she crawled forward at an excruciatingly slow pace.
"A snail."
"Correct!"
Next question.
Chunja pounded her chest with both fists.
"King Kong."
"Correct!"
This time she stretched both arms forward and staggered as she walked.
"A zombie."
"Correct!"
"How on earth are you guessing these so fast?"
Kang Segu asked in astonishment.
The man answered as if it were nothing.
"I could see all of that plain as day."
"See? Aren't I great at explaining?"
"The questions are just easy."
"No, why are you throwing shade there!"
Not a single moment of hesitation
Real-life brother experience stat
The real difference showed after that.
Chunja checked her question, then started tracing something in the air with her finger.
There was no telling what it meant.
The man watched for a few seconds, then spoke immediately.
"Pass."
"Huh? Wait, I can do this one!"
The next question was already up.
Chunja drew a line across the air with one hand.
The rising hand suddenly plunged downward.
Then she collapsed to the floor and clutched her head.
"The market crashed."
"Correct!"
"...You even got THAT?"
"You do that every time the stocks drop."
"Why would you bring that up!"
The chat window exploded.
Big data from real life
Guessing based on Chunja's dark history
Is that a brother or an observation journal?
He watched the next motion for only a moment.
"...Pass."
Whatever he could guess, he guessed within seconds; whatever he couldn't, he passed over without a trace of regret.
There were no flashy reactions.
And yet when the time limit ran out, the team that had solved the most questions was Chunja's team.
First place in the current standings.
Chunja thrust both arms up into the air.
"You see that?!"
"You passed well, is all."
"Can't you just say I did great?!"
Rotation rate over accuracy rate
This guy's game comprehension is on another level
Next up was Yuuna Sera's team.
There was one person who was unusually serious.
It was Sera's brother.
Even before the game started, he kept giving Sera instructions.
"Sera. Make your movements big. Lock onto the defining trait first."
"Got it."
"Don't do a bunch of vague motions — show me one key thing."
"Bro, can't you just let me play?"
"If we're doing this, we're winning."
Even though it was just a game, he acted like someone about to sit an exam.
"Ready? Here we go!"
The first question was a standard one.
Sera brought both hands together in front of her chest, then slowly bowed at the waist.
Then she spun in a circle, arms spread wide.
"A ballerina."
"Correct!"
"Good. That's how you do it."
Next question.
Sera suddenly mimed coughing.
She rubbed her eyes, then covered her nose and mouth with her hands while waving at the air.
"A cold."
Wrong.
Sera shook her head.
She mimed a few sneezes, then gestured at the air again.
"Pollen allergies."
Wrong again.
Frustrated, Sera waved frantically at the air before pinching her nose shut.
"...The coronavirus?"
Sera's head swung side to side again.
This time she gestured broadly at her surroundings.
"Yellow dust!"
"Incorrect!"
Sera's brother fell silent for a moment.
"...Pass."
"The correct answer was fine dust!"
"Hold on a second."
He spoke right away.
"How are you supposed to act out fine dust with your body?"
Kang Segu laughed too.
"Ah, that one was a bit rough."
The chat, for once, was on his side.
Fine dust is a bully question
I would've said yellow dust too
Question writer, come out here
"See? That was a bit much."
Sera's brother laughed as well, looking a little aggrieved.
The problem was that they'd clung to it for far too long.
Ordinary questions followed after that, but there wasn't much time left.
Their final score was middle of the pack.
Nowhere near Chunja's team.
Sera's brother looked at the scoreboard and clicked his tongue.
"Well... we spent too much time on the fine dust one."
I could agree with that to some extent.
The fine dust question was honestly unfair.
And then, at last, it was our turn.
"Hanabyul's team, please get ready!"
My little sister stepped forward.
"Oppa."
"Yeah."
"I really, really want that prize."
"I know."
"You have to guess well."
"I'll do my best."
Kang Segu smiled as she looked us over.
"All set, you two?"
"Yes."
"Then let's begin!"
The first question appeared on my little sister's screen.
She stretched both hands forward.
She flicked her wrists a few times, then thrust a hand out toward the air.
"Spider-Man."
"Correct!"
My little sister froze.
"Already?"
"What else would that be but Spider-Man?"
The next question appeared.
She drew a square in the air with both hands.
Then she mimed opening a door on it, reached inside, and pulled something out to eat.
"The fridge."
"Correct!"
"How did you get that instantly?"
"You opened the door and ate."
Next.
After checking the question, she thrust both hands forward in front of her.
Leaning forward like she was gripping motorcycle handlebars, she twisted her wrists wildly.
"Biker gang."
"Correct!"
What is that SPEED
Are these two telepathic siblings?
Hanabyul's also great at explaining
The questions kept coming.
This time, my little sister checked the screen and froze for a moment.
"..."
Then she suddenly flopped down onto the floor.
"What are you doing?"
Instead of answering, she pressed both arms tight against her sides.
And then she began squirming her way across the floor.
She crawled with real dedication.
No matter who looked at it, it was a worm, plain and simple.
"An earthworm."
"Correct!"
My little sister sprang to her feet.
"Why didn't you even hesitate on that one?!"
"It was an earthworm."
"At least PRETEND to think about it!"
That was genuinely an earthworm
Hanabyul what are you doing on the floor lolol
100% synchronization rate
The brother bears zero blame here
The next question followed.
When my little sister checked it, her expression stiffened oddly.
"..."
After a moment's thought, she hunched her waist way over.
She let both arms hang long, rolled her shoulders forward, and began shuffling along in a lumbering gait.
Then she straightened up a little.
She was standing on two feet, but the posture was somehow awkward. Somewhere between an ape and a human.
She bent at the waist again.
Straightened a little more.
"...A caveman?"
My little sister shook her head furiously.
This time she brought both hands up beside her face to mime giant ears, then pushed her mouth forward into a protruding snout.
And then she walked on two feet awkwardly once more.
"A monkey?"
Nope-nope.
"A great ape?"
My little sister flailed her hands wildly as if to say she was nearly there.
"...Australopithecus?"
"Correct!"
My little sister sank to the floor.
"How am I supposed to explain THAT with my body!"
The question is unhinged though
Mid-evolution from monkey lololol
The bro who guessed that is the weird one
Hanabyul just summarized human evolution lolol
They cleared a few more questions after that.
But because so much time had been burned on Australopithecus, they failed to catch up with Sama Chunja's team.
"Ah, if we'd gotten just one more..."
My little sister muttered in disappointment.
I looked at the scoreboard again.
"There are more games coming, aren't there?"
"...Right."
My little sister's head came back up immediately.
"We just have to win the next one."
"That's the spirit."
Meanwhile, Sera's brother was staring quietly at the scoreboard.
Chunja's team in first.
Us in second.
His team sat somewhere below that.
"I feel like those teams got easier questions."
Up until the fine dust question, I'd thought he'd simply had bad luck too.
But then, we'd just finished acting out Australopithecus with our own bodies.
Kang Segu answered with a smile.
"All the questions are random! And passing was free, too."
"Ah. Yes."
He gave a short laugh.
"I suppose luck has to be on your side as well."
Considering how seriously he'd thrown himself into the game just moments ago, it seemed the man didn't much care for losing.
When Kang Segu clapped her hands, the scoreboard vanished.
"You still have a chance to make up ground! Let's move straight on to our second segment!"
The stage lights dimmed.
One wall slid open, revealing a row of black booths lined up in sequence.
"...Booths?"
The chat reacted first.
What is this?
I'm nervous already and we haven't even started
Brothers, run while you can
Kang Segu said with a smile.
"For this segment, the brothers will be entering those booths."
Just then, huge letters appeared at the center of the stage.
"..."
The name alone felt ominous.
