Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Park Siwoo fell into confusion.
The translucent thing floating in the air looked exactly like the system windows that only appeared in novels.
‘Am I seeing things?’
But the text shimmering before his eyes was far too clear.
[You have met specific conditions. The Bond System has been activated.]
[Bond: Helps you grasp connections that would otherwise pass by.]
[Golden Bond: A connection that will be of great help to you.]
[Black Bond: ???]
[Red Bond: ???]
‘What are these “specific conditions”?’
There was no explanation.
More importantly—
‘There are other bonds besides the Golden one.’
Black Bond and Red Bond. Unlike the Golden Bond, their meanings weren’t revealed.
‘Maybe I have to meet certain conditions to unlock them.’
Siwoo let out a hollow laugh.
‘Something like this is happening to me…’
It felt like a dream.
So he lightly pinched the back of his hand.
A sharp sting followed.
Definitely not a dream.
Which meant—
That cold-looking woman standing in front of him was someone who would be a great help to him.
Siwoo turned his gaze toward her, listening to the explanation in the living room.
Her face was hidden behind a mask, but he could still tell.
She was definitely a stunning beauty.
‘Looks like a small mask.’
Even that mask seemed large on her small face.
And her eyes, barely visible between the cap and mask, looked strikingly big.
‘Do I know her?’
Having spent years in the entertainment industry, he could usually recognize people quickly.
Of course, with her face covered like that, it was impossible.
“Can we check the master bedroom as well?”
The real estate agent broke his train of thought.
There was nothing left that could cause trouble, so Siwoo nodded without hesitation.
Soon, the agent and the blonde woman entered the room.
Originally, there hadn’t been a computer in the master bedroom.
But after the divorce, Siwoo had moved it next to the bed.
‘Ah, come to think of it…’
He hadn’t closed the work screen.
If she recognized him, things could get complicated.
Siwoo hurried after them.
But it seemed he was already too late.
The blonde woman was staring blankly at his monitor.
—Swish.
Sensing his presence, she quickly turned her head.
Her widened eyes were filled with shock.
“Ah… ah…”
She looked completely flustered, unable to speak.
“Huh? Do you two know each other?”
The agent muttered as she looked at them.
Siwoo quickly denied it.
“No, it’s not that—”
But he couldn’t finish.
“Ma’am, could we talk alone for a moment?”
The blonde woman cut him off.
The agent looked slightly surprised, but soon chuckled and stepped out.
“Go ahead and talk. I’ll wait in the living room.”
—Thud.
The door closed.
Siwoo spoke awkwardly.
“Is there something you didn’t like about the room?”
“No, I really liked it.”
Her voice was clear and firm.
Slightly low for a woman, but with strong vocal cords—she sounded like someone experienced in music.
She had probably asked to talk alone because she recognized him.
As if to confirm that—
She pulled her mask down.
The moment her face was revealed, the air in the room seemed to brighten.
Her small face held delicate, perfectly arranged features.
Her slightly upturned eyes gave her a cat-like sharpness, but it wasn’t intimidating.
More like a kitten that thought it was fierce.
“You’re Guitar Hero, right?”
She asked in a cold voice that matched her appearance.
Siwoo let out a small sigh.
‘No point hiding it now.’
Everything was already exposed.
“Yes. I’m Guitar Hero.”
Her sapphire-like blue eyes widened.
At the same time, a soft blush spread across her pale skin.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Seol Ahyeon, the main vocalist of the indie band Neon Heart.”
Despite clearly being shaken, her voice remained calm.
She probably didn’t realize how much her expression gave her away.
‘She’s cute.’
An indie band… she was probably a college student.
Though it was strange—how could a student afford a place like this?
‘Well, music isn’t something you can get into without money.’
Instruments, lessons—
It all cost a lot.
Most musicians came from relatively well-off backgrounds.
After organizing his thoughts, Siwoo spoke briefly.
“Guitar Hero. Park Siwoo.”
“Ah, yes.”
That was it.
The conversation cut off.
She fidgeted awkwardly, lips twitching.
Definitely young.
Seeing her like that, Siwoo decided to lead.
“Is there something you wanted to say?”
“Well…”
She hesitated, then spoke with determination.
“I’m a fan. I’ve only been a fan for a day, but I’ve listened over a hundred times. And… I did a cover too.”
“That’s what you wanted to say?”
“Yes.”
She nodded.
Siwoo let out a silent sigh.
‘To think someone this pure still exists.’
She could have asked for a song.
Or asked him to listen to her music.
He had that kind of influence now.
But instead—
‘She went through all this just to say she’s a fan.’
Siwoo barely suppressed the smile tugging at his lips.
Then his gaze shifted to the golden thread tied to her wrist.
‘A bond that will greatly help me, huh.’
If it weren’t for the Golden Bond, he would’ve already been annoyed.
She had looked at his computer and showed up unannounced at this hour.
But instead of anger, he smiled.
‘And I’m curious about this Golden Bond too.’
Besides—
She looked too young to get angry at.
“Could I listen to the cover you mentioned?”
“R-really?”
For the first time, she stuttered.
Her face flushed deeper, like a wagging puppy’s tail made visible.
Yet her voice remained calm.
That contrast was charming.
‘Interesting.’
“You uploaded it on NewTube, right?”
“Yes.”
“I’ll check it out.”
Siwoo turned to his computer and searched for Neon Heart.
The cover video appeared at the top.
He clicked it.
Music began to play.
‘Another Following the Milky Way.’
He stood still and listened to the entire song.
It wasn’t just decent.
It was good.
‘I’ve spent years in the industry.’
He could easily tell potential from lack of it.
And Neon Heart—
They definitely had potential.
Especially—
‘That main vocal is incredible.’
The pure, delicate song transformed into something refreshing and powerful.
Her clear voice and overwhelming projection completely changed the mood.
‘So this is why it’s a Golden Bond.’
Siwoo smiled.
“You said you’re an indie band?”
“Yes? Yes.”
Ahyeon, who had been fidgeting behind him the whole time, startled when he turned.
Siwoo smiled gently and handed her a business card.
“I’m the team leader of the sales department at Starlight. If you’re interested, come visit us. No—sign with us. I’ll support you.”
“Guitar Hero himself… supporting us? That means…”
“I’ll make songs for you. Of course, on the condition that you sign with our company.”
Siwoo was certain.
Her voice fit his music perfectly.
No other singer could replicate this feeling.
Not even Lee Yena.
“What do you think?”
“C-can I discuss it with my members first?”
“Of course. Take your time. Contact me using the number on the card.”
“Yes, I will.”
She nodded.
“Then let’s head out.”
“Okay.”
When they returned to the living room, the agent smiled.
“So, how did it go?”
“Yeah, well.”
“Then what do you think? Shall we proceed with the preliminary contract?”
Ahyeon answered immediately.
“Yes. Let’s do it.”
“Alright, we’ll head to the office to sign.”
“Okay.”
“Siwoo, thanks for your time. I’ll call you with the results.”
“Sure. Take care.”
The agent and Ahyeon left.
‘Now I should rest.’
He had composed a song and shown the house—quite a productive evening.
Instead of going back to his computer, he sat on the couch and turned on the TV.
Right then—
—VROOOOM!!
A loud engine roared outside.
He assumed it was just reckless street racers again.
But then—
—Beep beep beep.
The door lock clicked open.
Siwoo’s body tensed.
There was only one person who knew the passcode.
“What, you were home?”
Kim Soyeon.
Siwoo frowned as she walked in.
Behind her stood a man he recognized.
How could he not?
Kim Mir—once a hot idol from Entra.
“Wait here for a second. I’ll grab the bag.”
“You got that from him?”
Mir asked.
Soyeon scoffed.
“As if. I bought it myself. I threw away everything Park Siwoo gave me. Seriously, who even buys Henzis? So embarrassing.”
She brushed past him and headed into the bedroom.
After rummaging around, she came out with a Chanel bag slung over her shoulder.
A mocking smile spread across her face.
“What’s that piano? Are you making music again?”
“Not your concern.”
“It is, actually. We used to live together, remember? I’m just worried you’re wasting your time. I told you before—your music is trash.”
“…”
Siwoo’s eyes widened.
It felt like molten iron had been poured onto his chest.
“Well, it’s your life. Not like we’re anything anymore. Guess I shouldn’t have bothered. Let’s go, oppa.”
“You—”
Before he could finish, she turned away.
Mir followed, throwing a mocking glance at Siwoo.
—Thud.
The door slammed shut.
Siwoo burst into laughter.
“Ha!”
He knew she was trash.
But not this much.
He clenched his fists.
‘I’ll succeed no matter what.’
With the very music you mocked.
At that moment—
His phone rang.
Twice.
The first message was from Kim Soyeon.
[Send me the money as soon as the house sells. Or I’ll sue.]
And the second—
[Siwoo! Your new song is amazing. Can I cover it?]
It was from Lee Yena.
