Ignition
The TV screen scrolls with the preview for the next episode, the ambiguous background music still lingering in the air.
Only a single small wall lamp from the living room chandelier glows, its warm yellow light draping over the two figures on the sofa like a sheer veil.
Lin Xiulan moves first.
She pretends to shift her position, leaning back slightly, but her shoulder "accidentally" presses against Li Ran's arm.
The sleeve of her silk nightgown slips down, baring her entire arm—skin so white it nearly gleams. She doesn't tug it back right away, holding the pose as if testing the waters... or waiting for him to dive in.
Li Ran's heartbeat thunders in his ears, loud enough that he swears she can hear it too.
His arm goes rigid, but he doesn't pull away. Instead, the next second, the back of his hand brushes the outer curve of her thigh—just his knuckles grazing the fabric. Through that thin layer of silk, her heat sears straight into him.
That single touch ignites the fuse.
Lin Xiulan's breath hitches, faltering for a beat.
She turns her head and meets his eyes.
Her gaze isn't the usual maternal warmth anymore. It's laced with something far more tangled: surprise, a flicker of panic, and a raw, unmistakable hunger.
"Ranran..." Her voice is a whisper, nearly drowned by the TV ad. "Are you... cold?"
The question makes no sense—the living room heater hums steadily. But it serves its purpose as an excuse.
Li Ran's throat bobs. His voice comes out hoarse, wrecked. "A little."
He reaches out, pretending to grab the remote, but his arm sweeps across her front. His fingertips "unwittingly" skim the swell of her breast.
The nightgown's collar was already loose; now the fabric parts further, exposing most of her deep cleavage and the lacy upper edge of her bra.
Black lace, wickedly enticing in the lamplight.
Lin Xiulan draws a soft, sharp breath—but she doesn't cover up. Instead, she tilts her head back just a fraction, her neck arching into a graceful curve, an unspoken invitation.
Li Ran snaps.
He twists toward her, his palm landing squarely on her thigh.
No more testing this time—he presses down with raw possession.
His palm glides over the silk, inching upward, feeling the feverish warmth and faint tremor at the crease of her leg.
"Mom..." The word shakes out of him the first time he says it. "Are we... losing our minds?"
Lin Xiulan's eyes flutter shut, her long lashes quivering. She doesn't answer. Instead, her hand closes around his wrist—not to push him away, but to draw him closer, guiding him.
Her palm presses over the back of his hand, urging it deeper under the hem of her nightgown.
The fabric lifts, revealing the edge of her panties. Pale purple, trimmed with delicate lace, already marked with a telltale dampness.
The last thread of Li Ran's sanity snaps with a twang.
He leans in and kisses her—first her collarbone, then trailing up the side of her neck until he claims her lips.
This kiss carries thirty years of buried longing, the hollow ache of his divorce, the sharp sting of taboo guilt, and a wildfire of sudden passion.
It starts as a tentative brush, then erupts into a tangle—tongues probing, chasing, wet sounds mingling in the air.
Lin Xiulan's fingers thread into his hair, nails grazing his scalp with delicious scratches.
She kisses back fiercer than he'd dreamed, like parched earth drinking in a storm.
She even parts her thighs a little more, granting him better access to her most hidden spot.
His fingers press through the panties, meeting slick heat and a subtle clench. A low moan escapes her, slamming straight into his gut like gasoline on flames.
"Ranran... don't stop..." She pants against his ear, her voice cracking with a sob. "Mom... it's been so long since I've felt this..."
Those words demolish his final defenses.
He scoops her up, settling her astride his lap.
Her nightgown falls fully open, her full breasts nearly bare.
He dips his head to one, tongue swirling the peak, while his other hand slips inside her panties, fingers delving into the soaked warmth.
Lin Xiulan throws her head back, muffled whimpers spilling from her throat. Her arms lock around his neck, her hips rocking gently against him, feeling his rock-hard need straining through his clothes.
The living room fills with their ragged breaths, the rustle of fabric... and the TV ad's pointless laughter.
They both know it: once they cross this line, there's no going back.
But neither of them stops.
