Reincarnation. What a sweet word that was.
My current life was so unbearably hard despite my efforts—how could I not have wished for reincarnation? But I didn't wish for it.
With this life already being such a piece of shit, what made me think I'd luck out with a good reincarnation? If I got some flashy novel-esque setting plastered all over it, I'd have welcomed it with open arms, but unless that happened, I was too damn busy just living this life.
But then I had the rotten luck to die and get reincarnated. And it turned out to be a goddamn fantasy world. Life really was unpredictable.
Still, what could I do? Whether it was a god fucking around or the grace of my parents, who looked after their worthless kid to the very end, I had no choice but to work my ass off at living this second life too.
But.
But even if I let everything else slide, fuck.
Having my village completely wiped out by the Demon King's Army when I was eight, though? That was crossing the fucking line.
