The Audience Chamber.
Hong Beom...
feeling that his true annihilation was drawing near, closed his eyes.
"...Farewell."
The last thing he saw...
was the existence he had been most reluctant to acknowledge,
yet at the same time, the God of Ties whom he had no choice but to acknowledge as the greatest existence.
It was his Lord.
"Farewell, my Lord."
Contrary to the 16th regression, Seo Eunhyeon held his hand, looking down at his long-time arch-nemesis and cherished friend as he gave his final farewell.
"Farewell, Heaven."
And so, the story called Regressor's Tale of Cultivation truly came to an end.
Facing true death before his eyes, Hong Beomguju recalled the distant past when he used to hold Yang Hoe's hand, laughing and running around. A time when he was neither the God of Fate nor the God of Gravitation. A time when Yang Hoe was neither the Heavenly Honored of the Underworld nor the Life Supreme.
It was a time when he still believed hope remained in life. Because back then, all Hong Beomguju desired was nothing more than simple happiness.
Hong Beomguju closed his eyes and reminisced about those days. He didn't push the memories away as he usually did. Feeling his consciousness gradually fade away, Hong Beomguju wondered if his Lord, Seo Eunhyeon, might be watching his eternal annihilation with a slightly sad smile.
In truth, none of it mattered anyway.
'Now, it is time to depart. The destination... anywhere is fine.'
The corners of Hong Beomguju's lips curled up slightly. Was it a smile born from the fact that he, who had been the God of Fate, did not actually know the fate that lay ahead of him?
And so, the Future King, Fate Supreme, Hong Beomguju, died.
