Presidential Election (2)
I've always felt this way, but the room is far too quiet.
Is it because it's so spacious, or perhaps because the scent of people hasn't fully permeated it yet?
This space is so large that it's hard to define as just a "room."
When I open the hidden door first, there's a study-like area with an entire wall made of glass windows.
Passing through that study, a new space appears.
There's a large island table where people who look like buyers would enjoy holding meetings.
And beyond that new space is the master room, which is truly my personal quarters.
Similar to the study, one wall is entirely glass, and the opposite wall has my own bathroom.
And there's even a corridor that connects all these spaces at once.
This entire setup is too big to call a room.
While living in such a large space, what I've felt over the years is that I've appropriately divided the space using partition walls and bookshelves.
I don't know the rest.
The interior design wasn't something I did.
I feel these spaces are comfortable, but I'm not sure if they're good.
Or is it?
If the interior makes anyone feel comfortable, is that good?
Well, if there's any discomfort somewhere, I'll change it later anyway.
"It wasn't bad."
Now, it seems to have become a habit, so sitting on the sofa in the study that I use as a thinking chair naturally comes out.
"It wasn't bad."
The human heart isn't something you can see directly, but even so, the feeling I could sense from Kim Eunjung during today's conversation wasn't bad.
Her unconscious expressions, actions, and reactions weren't those of someone guarding themselves, and the expression when she finally stated her own thoughts seemed warmer than someone with a cold impression would be.
Of course, I don't intend to blindly trust these things, but if I think that controlling every unconscious action is possible, there's nothing believable about it.
And while words can't be trusted, actions are quite believable.
First, since she said she'll meet each of the men who showed interest in her one by one, if what Kim Eunjung said to me is her true thought and sincerity, she'll act accordingly.
If it was just empty words...
I need to find another way quickly.
Disband the military itself or not join the UN peacekeeping force at all, or even remove the top brass in advance.
Well, first, I need to organize the list of people who said they want to meet Kim Eunjung...
Minseok got caught.
Is it because the kid is still young?
Or pretending not to, but he likes heroes too much.
Since he's not yet an adult, I couldn't let him do Duty Sex, but if I prevent him from even having the opportunity for this kind of romance and marriage, it might build up complaints.
Should I ask Minister-nim to approve it?
Um...
Could it be that a grown adult raises a kid and eats him?
The age difference is almost double.
Right?
But this is a crazy time.
No one knows what will happen; that's the truth.
It's a bit unsettling...
No.
Around Minseok, there will be overflowing young and pretty girls.
Plus, according to rumors, the school Minseok attends recently is a newly established high school using a renovated university building, where all his classmates are kids who won against fierce competition to enter.
They say there are really pretty girls.
If you dye your hair and tan, you get a perfect golden tan.
I'm envious.
I envy it.
I went to middle school, high school, and engineering college.
Minseok is going to walk the path of night flowers after walking the flower path for three years.
Still, this isn't something I need to worry about deeply.
Education for the kid will be handled by Minister-nim as a father with responsibility.
Same with the marriage issue.
Ah, right.
Now, I should go back to my parents' house once in a while...
When I last contacted them, they said they've been doing well on their own.
Is that true?
I was briefly lost in thought, then found the forgotten smartphone and picked it up.
The mother's number at the top of the saved contacts.
The finger that was supposed to push to call was trembling.
But I gathered my courage, closed my eyes, and pushed it.
The ringing sound started slowly spreading.
Because of the tension from that sound, it felt like it might crack.
Click.
"Hello."
"This is me. Mom."
"..."
Beep.
The call disconnected without a word.
Really.
She did this last time too.
She's doing it again.
She doesn't want to talk to me, so let's do some work...
Like last time, she'll call later.
Soothing my restless heart, I called Minister-nim and talked about the meeting between Minseok and Kim Eunjung.
Then, I turned on the laptop next to me and received applications from the chat room where the men were gathered about meeting Kim Eunjung.
The new condition was that the party had to go to Pyongyang to meet Kim Eunjung.
The time to meet Kim Eunjung and have a date is only one day.
The rest of the conditions were explained as being the same as a bright future.
So, applicants who want to tame the hero and ride her once are pouring in.
Starting from Kim Donghyun, whom I remembered as a pervert obsessed with sex, to some applicant who answered how he made time, and even Hyungcheol who complained about getting scammed by his girlfriend.
If this is the case, shouldn't we open a contest like a competition program?
Looking at the atmosphere roughly, thanks to last time's filming or perhaps daily sex, the men's confidence is sky-high.
When I met them today, they didn't seem as easy as I thought.
Anyway, confident is good, so do your best.
Starting from Kim Eunjung, one by one, hit the military top brass to make them unable to live without men.
If I can do that, everything will be easy.
While organizing the list, I couldn't hold back for a moment and assigned numbers to the applicants in order and decided to shoot cannons fairly.
Men are really such brats.
Can't you hold back on that?
Um
Now, has the election outline come out?
To watch the vote count broadcast, I pushed the laptop aside for a moment and turned on the TV that had been off in the corner.
"Yes! The next region is Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek."
"Lee Nayoung candidate 48.7%, Park Myeongsuk candidate 47.5%, Lee Nayoung candidate is in first place."
What?
Why are they tied?
I turned my gaze to the table in the top left and read it, and it said the national vote count was about 46.9%, and luckily the overall result was quite different.
Auntie.
At this rate, she'll win easily.
Should I call now?
Lying back on the sofa and thinking for a bit, I eventually called.
As expected, the voice message came with the message that many people are calling besides me, and it said to use the voicemail.
Since there were unanswered calls, if the auntie thinks I'm important, she'll contact me.
If not, I'll get the information that we aren't important to her.
I turned off the TV again and continued processing things about Kim Eunjung, when the phone rang.
Is it Mom or Auntie?
"Yes. This is Park Seonghun."
"The time isn't that long. What's the business? Seonghun-kun."
It's Auntie.
"Well, the call is because you've been working hard with election activities and acting as acting president during this time. It looks like you'll win. Congratulations in advance. President Lee Nayoung."
Physically very tiring, there must have been many political hardships, but you managed to do this.
Amazing.
"Thank you. It's really nice that my son Seonghun, who usually irritates my stomach, is congratulating me."
She seems a bit arrogant compared to usual.
This is because position makes people, right?
"Well, we benefit a lot from President-nim's grace. We must express our gratitude."
"Hmm.. Thank you.. But there's been an interesting thing in the opposition party lately... Do you know what it is? Seonghun-kun."
I know well.
It's something I ordered.
"Well? As you know, recently, because I couldn't focus on anything other than election campaigns requested by the President for meeting Chairman Kim Eunjung or handling such matters, I don't know what it is."
"Really?"
"Of course."
There's no way.
I knew everything.
"Well, there was a young politician named Choi Jiwon who was active in the opposition party, but suddenly he started working in the opposition election camp. Did you not know?"
"There was such a person? Interesting. Why did he suddenly do that?"
"Well, I hope you Seonghun-kun would pay some attention to this... What do you think?"
"Hmm... If the President says so, I'll meet that friend and try to bring up the words... This country we love, the Republic of Korea, is a country with political freedom, right? If that friend wants to do political activities even in this world, I can't stop him, so I might not be able to provide the big help that the President is thinking."
"Still, I believe you'll do it, Seonghun-kun. You have the ability to do so, don't you?"
"Kid, the President takes care of me too well. Then I'll work hard."
"Yeah. Besides that, I have to handle the previous matters I mentioned, so we'll meet soon."
"Yes. I'm preparing. Then see you then. President."
The call termination sound echoing in the room.
Hah... I'm stressed.
Really, a sly Auntie.
She knows I already did it and says to handle it properly till the end.
Politicians...
Then, the remaining things to do today...
The call to Mom later and Duty Sex.
There's still one left, who was it?
I definitely checked in the morning, but I can't remember.
"Excuse me."
