The Shaving Scene That Stuns the Set
In the car heading to the drama center in Suwon early that morning, Manager Baek Seongcheol asked,
"Suhyeon, what are you reading so intently from the crack of dawn?"
"Just going through the posts on the fan cafe."
"Yeah? It's good that you're paying attention to your fans as an entertainer... but why not rest a bit on the way to the set? You've had a tough few days."
"I'm fine. I slept like a rock last night. Getting pissed off actually helped me sleep better."
"Why? What happened yesterday?"
"Don't worry about it. Just some immature colt kicking up dust without knowing its place... Anyway, hyung."
"Yeah?"
"From the fan cafe posts, it looks like not just regular fans but a lot of agency trainees are there too. There's tons of info on new audition programs. Posts about people challenging shows like Mix It or Union directly..."
"Manager Yoo said the trainee fans have increased a lot compared to before. Especially after you successfully produced Moon and My Story."
"Hmm. I see."
"Suhyeon, take it easy and get some shut-eye. You got up early; you must be short on sleep."
"I'm okay... Fine, got it."
Following the manager's words, Suhyeon closed his eyes to rest. Soon, the car arrived at the drama center, and Suhyeon walked with the manager to the waiting room.
"Suhyeon, I'll check on makeup and the shooting schedule. Review your script in the meantime."
"Got it. See you soon."
Once the manager left the waiting room, Suhyeon reviewed the script again. A short while later, the manager returned.
"Makeup starts at 9, standby at 10. Probably shooting around 10:30."
"We've got about 30 minutes left."
"Script memorized?"
"Of course. It's just a few lines. The scene complaining about low drug supply from China, booking a flight to China, getting angry while shaving because the Chinese boss likes things neat, and heading out of the office for departure. Four scenes today, and all the lines together don't even fill ten."
"China shoot is definitely this weekend?"
"Yeah. The drama needs shots of me arriving at the Chinese airport and Shanghai cityscapes. But we can wrap in half a day and fly back. Dialogue scenes have to be shot on the Korean set anyway."
"Alright. I'll handle passports and schedules, so don't worry. But... no leads around today."
"It's morning. They don't want puffy faces on screen, so they skip early calls unless shooting backs up into all-nighters. We're not that backed up yet."
A bit later, Suhyeon finished makeup and returned to the waiting room.
"Makeup done quicker than expected?"
"Yeah, since I've grown out my beard so much, it's easier than before."
"You've been through a lot growing that beard. Today's the last day. Now your handsome face can shine on TV as is. Good job."
"It wasn't hard... No morning shaves made it more convenient, actually."
At that moment, the waiting room door opened, and Kim Hae-su entered.
"Suhyeon, dongsaeng!"
Startled by the unexpected appearance, Suhyeon jumped up from his chair.
"Oh, Hae-su noona. What brings you here so early? Got a morning shoot?"
"Shoot? Yeah. Not me—you."
"Huh?"
"Sigh. I came because of your shoot, dongsaeng."
"I'm shooting, but why you?"
"You have no idea what's going on outside, do you?"
"Outside? What happened? Nothing when I came back from makeup..."
"That was before your shoot time. The set area's probably chaos by now."
Suhyeon, unable to grasp her meaning, glanced at the manager. Catching his eye, the manager shook his head, indicating he didn't know either, then rushed out to check. Watching him go, Kim Hae-su let out a long sigh before speaking again.
"Word spread through the industry that you're shooting your shaving scene today. My coordi friends begged me for days to bring them, so I had no choice. I didn't bring anyone to the waiting room to avoid disturbing pre-shoot... but after, can you take some pics with them? Please?"
"That's no problem... Your coordi friends came?"
"Yeah. The ones off today kept nagging... You don't realize how popular you are with women, especially ajummas."
"Yeah, schedules have been packed lately..."
"I cut the young ones by seniority and only brought the older ajumma coordis I've been close with forever—still four of them. They went nuts hearing you're stripping down today. Sigh. Married women going wilder... They lose their minds over your great body, handsome face, and youth."
Just then, Manager Baek Seongcheol burst back in, face pale as a ghost.
"Suhyeon! Big trouble."
Meanwhile, at the set preparing for the shoot, PD Kang Min-cheol scanned the area and sighed deeply.
"Anyone'd think this was Na Hoon-a's dinner show, not a drama set. Every ajumma in the neighborhood's here..."
The camera director chuckled beside him.
"Aigoo, even you brought three, including your wife?"
"Haa. The wife and her friends kept hounding me..."
"Worried there might be an accident."
"They're all adults; shouldn't be. Not teenage fangirls... Issue is Suhyeon might lose focus."
"Doubt it. Staring through the lens, my heart skips sometimes. That focus, those eyes... Even I get butterflies; imagine women."
"Once this shaving scene airs, ajummas nationwide will riot. Haven't seen it live, but pics show insane physique. Face plus body? Total cheat character."
"Art. First time seeing a body like that. Primal instincts bubbling up."
"Awe, probably. Did guys copy Bruce Lee for acting? They know the grind for that body. Anyway, let's nail it. Make a masterpiece."
"We must. Among KBC drama DPs, visual beauty means Sin Ho-seong. That's why you keep working with me..."
"True. Visuals? Sin Ho-seong. Camera setup good? One-take for shaving."
"Four cams rolling. I'll take upper body; other three left, right, full rear. Trust my upper—won't miss a single water droplet sliding down your chest."
"Counting on you. Sigh. Tell assistant PD to lock down the site."
As the PD left, Sin Ho-seong meticulously checked his camera. Finally, Suhyeon's shoot began.
Scene 1 yelling at a subordinate ended. Scene 2 booking the flight wrapped.
Before scene 3 shaving, the PD approached Suhyeon.
"Suhyeon."
"Yes, PD."
"Need time?"
"Time?"
"Exposure scene... Maybe push-ups for pump?"
Suhyeon smiled.
"No need for that with my body. Ready now."
"Alright. Prep, please."
"Yes."
Suhyeon walked to the sink set with the large mirror, removing his shirt. Fully topless, flawless snow-white skin and a beastly physique emerged.
Standing before the mirror, hands clasped at his dantian, he took a deep breath. Muscles bulked instantly, veins popping. Arms and shoulders, like compressed rubber balls, revealed intricate forms, thick veins like ropes snaking over. Lats and erector spinae twisted like carved sculptures. Chest muscles split deeply, fibers countable. Balanced six-pack and obliques writhed like dancing; a single line of hair from lower abs to navel exuded wild allure.
As the savage beast that was Suhyeon's body revealed itself, gasps and swallows thundered through the silent set. No chatter, thanks to prior warnings.
"Ready, PD."
As the PD signaled, the camera director interjected.
"PD! Splash water on Suhyeon first. Makes it sexier on screen."
"Yeah? Suhyeon, a few sprays on chest and back."
Suhyeon questioned.
"PD, it's not a shower—just quick shave. Jeans on below... Water dripping to pants? Viewers might find it weird."
"Don't sweat logic. Sexier that way—please."
"...Got it."
So as long as it looks good, plausibility doesn't matter...
Suhyeon splashed water. The PD scanned around, announcing loudly.
"Ajummas watching! You're all industry pros—you know. No secret phone filming, as warned. Pre-air leak to SNS? KBC sues for business interference. Remember."
The PD eyed Suhyeon, breathed deep, and called.
Suhyeon's shaving scene began. As it progressed, his beautiful face emerged from the thick beard, like a shoujo manga lead. The pristine face contrasted sharply with his water-slicked beastly body, building to a peak. No one foresaw the explosive China reaction from this single scene.
After all shoots, back in the car to the company, Suhyeon called BBG's Seongbin.
[Hello?]
"Seongbin, it's your hyung Suhyeon."
[Yeah, hyung.]
"Where are you?"
[Office.]
"Perfect. Heading back from Suwon—meet soon."
[What's up?]
"Discuss Dispatch choreography. Any other schedules?"
[No. Eat lunch and wait—hurry.]
"See you. Eat well."
Suhyeon hung up and closed his eyes to rest. Thirty minutes later, his phone rang. Checking the caller, he thought,
Huh? Why's this hyung calling?
"Yes, hyungnim. Suhyeon here."
[Oh, Suhyeon. Yeah, it's hyung. Busy lately?]
"A bit. But what's up with the call from you, Jae-sik hyung? Shooting now?"
[Nah, no shoot today. Gym.]
"Ah. So, what's the matter?"
[Suhyeon, one favor from hyung?]
"Favor?"
