The Reformed Delinquent's Bold Apology
Suhyeon pushed open the door and scanned the room. Yoo Ayoung sat before the vanity with her eyes closed. The coordinator he'd seen once before was in the middle of doing her makeup. Spotting him, she widened her eyes in shock and yelled.
"What the hell? You! How dare you crawl in here? Get out right now!"
Her furious shouting, eyes blazing with anger, made Yoo Ayoung open her eyes.
"Kyunghee, what's wrong? Who's here?"
Yoo Ayoung slowly turned her head toward Suhyeon. True to her reputation as the top actress in her forties, her face looked a full decade younger—stunningly beautiful. Beneath thick lashes, her seductive gaze shimmered like moonlight on water as she looked at him. But the moment she saw Suhyeon, her soft, spring-flower expression hardened into something fierce. The faint smile at her lips vanished, her eyes narrowed sharply, and her gentle gaze turned icy cold, as if ready to strike down anyone in an instant.
"Well, well. The trash shows his face before me again? I clearly warned your manager that day. If you ever stuck your nose in my business again, I'd bury you no matter what it took. Did my words sound like a joke?"
Suhyeon let out a soft sigh at her frost-covered face and ice-cold tone.
Sigh. What an unreasonable one. Can't you ease up a bit? I'm the one cleaning up all the mess.
Suhyeon tightened his core, straightened his back rigidly, and spoke in a solemn voice.
"I've come to apologize for what happened that day. I promise it will never happen again. Please consider it the folly of an immature young man and forgive me this once."
He steadied his breathing, met her murderous glare head-on with calm eyes, and continued in a low, sincere tone.
"I'm truly sorry, Senior Yoo Ayoung."
With that, he placed his hands neatly at his sides and bowed at a perfect ninety degrees. After three seconds, he straightened up and looked at her. A flicker of curiosity glimmered in her otherwise fierce eyes.
"An apology now? What, like you won't screw up again? That's hilarious. Might as well say a stray dog won't eat shit anymore! Who'd believe a punk like—"
Excited and raising her voice, the coordinator was cut off by Yoo Ayoung.
"Kyunghee! Step out for a bit."
Her voice mixed anger with a hint of curiosity as she asked,
"Suhyeon, right? The one your agency sent? Told you to come apologize?"
"No way. It was my mistake, so it's only proper for me to come apologize in person."
"Proper? Oh my, a thug talking about propriety? Your agency didn't send you?"
"They told me not to come see you, actually. Haha. Said I'd end up ground to dust and ascending to heaven if I did."
"And yet here you are, insisting on apologizing? Then do you remember what you said to me at that dinner that day?"
"Of course. I remember it clearly. Let me apologize once more from the heart."
"Say it again. Exactly like that day."
"Pardon? Right here, right now?"
"Yeah. Do it exactly the same, one more time."
"Is that really necessary?"
"You gonna make me repeat myself? Say it again."
Suhyeon sighed and met Yoo Ayoung's eyes before speaking.
"I remember saying something like, [Yoo Ayoung, you've got a beautiful face and a killer body—totally my type. Not bad for a mom with two kids. It's just flesh that'll rot anyway, so how about we have some real fun tonight, just the two of us? If you're busy, hit me up when your husband's away. Don't you think a guy like me could show you a good time?] I apologize once more."
Yoo Ayoung, who had been staring daggers into his eyes, paused for a moment before asking,
"Who are you, really?"
"Ah, I'm Suhyeon, the leader of BBG."
"Not that. The trashy mutt with those lust-crazed eyes that day... and the man standing here now, owning up to it so squarely—they're completely different people. Like night and day."
"It's the same me, then and now. But after months in the hospital from my accident, I had a lot of time to reflect and grow up. I'm truly sorry for that day. I hope you'll show mercy and understand, just this once."
Yoo Ayoung stared at him silently, then rose from her chair and approached. She closed the gap to less than an arm's length, grabbed his hands, and wrapped them around her waist. Gripping his hands tightly on her ant-like slender waist, she locked eyes with him for a long moment before suddenly blooming into a radiant spring smile.
"You're really something. Hospitalized for a while, huh? The horny bastard who was panting after me has come back a real man."
"I'm sorry, but could you let go of my hands...?"
"Why? Too thick for your taste?"
"No, it's just so slim it deserves the title of willow waist... but a bit intimidating."
"Scared I'll eat you alive?"
The coordinator, who had been watching blankly, jumped in with a start.
"Unnie! What are you doing all of a sudden? With a trash like him? Hey! Get your hands off her!"
"Quiet! You idiot! He's the one I grabbed... Don't worry. This trash has turned into a cool guy who only has eyes for the woman he loves. Aren't you curious?"
"Unnie, what nonsense is that?"
"You can tell by his eyes, girl. Wait till you're my age... Even with his hands on my waist, his gaze is steady. The punk who was drooling over me just a while ago..."
"Like I said earlier, I finally grew up in the hospital—late, but better than never. My hands, please."
"Fine, playing hard to get."
Yoo Ayoung released his hands reluctantly and said,
"Hmm. Alright. I'll forgive you—with one condition."
"Name it, Senior."
"I'm shooting a movie right now called Genetic Alchemist. Do a cameo in it. Then we're square."
"It'd be an honor if you call me. Just say the word, and I'll be there. Thank you for forgiving me."
"I'll have our agency's Kim Siljang contact you, so come to the set next time. See you then."
"Yes, got it."
Suhyeon bowed and left the room, letting out a deep sigh before heading back to the drama set. There, Chief PD Jang was red-faced, practically breathing fire at the road manager.
"YK must be riding high these days, huh? Thinks they can treat a broadcasting station drama PD like a joke? I specifically said the cameo was a rapper. Who do they send? Suhyeon? You want a guy who can't memorize two lines to play a rapper? You messing with me right now?"
Suhyeon shook his head irritably and quickened his pace toward Chief PD Jang.
Sigh. Cleaning up shit all over the neighborhood... what a day.
