Hand Cam Frenzy
Please say hello
Nah lmao hand cam or half-cam, same difference
Lately a lot of dual-monitor streamers have been running half-cam, and as a proper dual-monitor OG herself Kayack could totally give half-cam a shot
I'll start first lmao
Why are these people so hopeful
Aren't they considering the worst-case scenario?
What if Ionicus just opened Pandora's box?
What if the gallery master is a girl who can solo two whole pizzas? What if just looking at the hands is enough to roughly guess the body type?
What if a future where never turning on the cam would have been way better is waiting for us...?
Every other room already finished setting up, why isn't the gallery master turning hers on?
Like a dam bursting, chat flooded in all at once.
Every single one of those reactions exploded the moment Kayack turned on her cam and, following tournament regulations, revealed her hands through the camera.
Even through a cam feed that didn't look particularly high-quality, that beauty was impossible to hide.
They were white and small hands.
The fingers weren't especially long, yet neither were they short; they stretched out with such elegant grace that the phrase "delicate jade fingers" fit them perfectly.
Most viewers had never expected Kayack's hands to be this pretty.
Even if the hands themselves had looked completely ordinary, or if they had taken on the somewhat bizarre shape some people had claimed, it wouldn't have been all that strange.
That was why simply revealing the hands produced this kind of reaction. Shattering people's common sense and expectations always came paired with a massive shock.
This was internet streaming, where imagination piled onto delusion and facts naturally attracted wild rumors. Even the tiniest thing got fleshed out and inflated here.
Kayack, who had been sitting at the absolute center of the Abyss category's hype.
The simple fact that her hands were extremely pretty was enough to set both chat and the communities boiling.
Yet even in the middle of all that, Kayack showed no sign of caring.
More accurately, she simply couldn't afford to care.
"They banned Blood Path."
"Blood Path.... Just as expected. Then we—"
"Radiant Brilliance, right?"
Kayack was completely absorbed in the Trait Ban, communicating with her teammates like a commander receiving real-time battlefield reports.
Before the game even started, which traits got banned and which ones remained would completely change the strategy for that match.
That made ban-pick time pretty critical for the players.
Kayack simply kept tapping the desk with those signature pure-white fingers of hers while she thought.
She had no spare bandwidth left to keep chatting with viewers. Of course, even if she had, the delay between chat and the stream would have made actual conversation impossible anyway.
And so each team locked in their first banned trait, and the opposing side banned their second trait as well.
That was when Lime-tak shouted in a somewhat excited voice.
"Whoa, it's exactly like what Kayack-nim said at dawn! She said if they ban Blood Path and Radiant Brilliance then Indomitable gets banned, and it actually happened just like she said!"
"She's a ghost, a total ghost. Teacher, if you're good at ban-pick too doesn't that make you completely inhuman?"
"This inhuman predictive ability.... I get it. Kayack isn't human!!!"
"God of Camilla! God of Camilla! God of Camilla!"
"Stop the nonsense and just ban. Like we discussed in the meeting yesterday."
"Yes ma'am."
Whether she had gotten used to this kind of bootlicking or not, Kayack barely reacted.
She simply figured that if they could joke around this much, the tension must have fully drained out of them.
After that, following the calm instructions she issued, they smoothly finished ban-pick.
The viewers' chat was still talking about the past.
Probably messages typed back when she first waved her hand.
Only after finishing ban-pick did she finally get a proper look at the viewers' chat, but having so many people talk about her hands was still something she couldn't quite get used to.
That was when one particular chat caught Kayack's eye.
A hand wave. They wanted her to wave her hand.
She wasn't the type to blindly follow every demand from chat, but this much she could do.
Besides, a chat that predicted the future like this felt oddly interesting.
This scene would probably only reach the viewers a few minutes later.
With that thought, Kayack waved her pure-white hand toward the cam.
Then she tried waving both hands together, and even playfully stuck up a middle finger.
For a short yet long stretch of time, she communicated with the viewers across the time delay for a few minutes.
At last, the game began.
