Moteok (3): Defeated by the Devil of Curiosity
In the end, I couldn't beat the devil called curiosity. That guy's a real nasty one... a cruel bastard... If God suddenly decided to punish me... it'd be for curiosity.
"I wanna touch 'em. Let me touch those huge boobs..."
I muttered, unable to resist my curiosity.
"Kyaek?! No, no, of course not. Your mindset's totally screwed up! Obviously not. What kinda thing do you say to someone you just met?!"
"Kuh... What a shame."
"And what was that tone just now? Straight out of a third-rate villain?!"
"Did it sound like that?"
I was shocked. For real, my mindset had just flashed to a third-rate villain committing a crime and blaming everyone else. Did my true thoughts slip out in my tone? This is bad. I only thought that way a tiny bit. Not a lot... just a teensy bit. Really just a little.
"No! This is reality, drop the RP. You don't need to RP anymore. You're a real pro streamer. Drop the RP now. I'll protect you."
"RP? I don't do that stuff."
"Agh... Your mask is thick."
"Mask? Nah, I'm always sincere."
"That's the thing? Right now?"
"Yep."
I nodded as I answered. What's a mask? I don't know about that. I've always lived without a shred of deceit. I've always lived honestly.
"I've always lived truthfully."
"Sure. Heh heh."
And then, maybe my sincerity got through, because Moteok nodded. Phew...!
"Thank youuu~!"
"Euhuhahaha. That's why I like this. This is it. You've got guts. Hahihaha."
Moteok laughed so hard her face scrunched up. I had no idea what was so funny. My face was probably totally blank. But they say laughter's contagious... Moteok was cracking up, so I started giggling too.
"Heehee."
Both Moteok and I calmed down from laughing. As soon as the laughter died down, she naturally changed the subject.
"Anyway, Sena. You don't wear makeup?"
"Huh...?"
This was a total curveball. What should I say...? But not wearing makeup isn't a crime. It's fine not to. It's my choice... right?!
"I don't."
"Oh...! Your skin's amazing."
"Thanks."
"I'm jealous! I manage mine every day and it's still not enough... So envious~"
"Ah... Yep."
"What skincare do you use?"
"Uh... Dunno."
"Don't hold out on me. I'm not a bad person at all."
I really don't know. I just use whatever's at home. When it runs out, I tell Mom and she sends more. It's on the way right now. And she calls to check if the delivery arrived... and if I'm using it right. Plus, it's all in English, so it's hard to say the names. Pronunciation was the hardest part when I studied English. It was so tough. That's why I hate English. And the grammar's different from Korean, so it confuses me. Anyway, I gave up on English. Do I even need to study it if I'm living in Korea? It's just annoying for Google sometimes... But now my buddy GPT handles translations. GPT solves everything. No need to use my brain anymore. Before, I'd translate and read; now I just ask GPT to summarize. Having a smart friend makes life so easy.
"I'll send you pics later! Mom buys it for me, so I don't know the names. For real!!"
"Ah~ That's fine then. I use my own stuff anyway... Just chatting. It's boring waiting. Sis isn't here yet. You gonna just stare at your phone? Huh?! We met up, but you're gonna pop in earbuds? Just talk and bury your head in your phone? Hey!!"
"Hmm... Wise words. Full marks."
"Oh, really?"
As expected. Personality comes from the pocket, huh? Her outstanding chest size matches her great personality. Nice to see. One of the rare true humans. Yeah. Staring at your phone when you're with someone is rude to them. I remember going to a cafe with Mom once, and two women were talking. Or so it seemed. But they weren't looking at each other, just tapping away on their phones... Why meet up then? I've wondered that.
"Yeah, exactly...! Good good."
I gave Moteok a thumbs up while staring at her chest. Personality Pocket. So kind~! Praise!
Moteok's face turned to utter bewilderment.
"What're you even looking at?"
"Me?! Can I say it?"
"Go ahead."
"I said it looking at your Personality Pocket!!"
Maru was 20 minutes late, but it's fine. More importantly, Maru's so pretty. But she's small. Once you notice it, that's all you see. The difference is so huge you can't not compare. Ah... No. Maru... not there. Maru was about to dive into hellfire.
"I-I'll sit next to Moteok! Maru, sit here!"
I blocked her. If I pretend not to notice... disaster. Maru's Pure Female Power authority would plummet. I have to stop this. I respect and like Maru so much. I have to protect her. Only I can do this.
"Why?"
"If you sit there... your female power gets exposed."
"Huh?"
I glanced at Moteok's Personality Pocket. Maru's gaze followed. Her eyes went wide, and she clamped her mouth shut.
"What? This?"
"No... We're basically strangers... This ain't right."
"Whoa... These are real?"
"Yup."
"Some kinda power move?"
"No... Why'd we jump straight to this? I don't stuff mine."
Maru let out a wistful sigh.
"Sigh... Just a bit..."
"This is embarrassing. No... Us..."
"Don't members ever mention it?"
"Strangers don't bring it up! We've met like a hundred times now."
A hundred meetings mean I can say what I want? Oh...! What a great offer. Gotta say yes.
"Then promise to meet a hundred times! We've met a hundred times. We're at a hundred now. I took out a 'hundred meetings loan' in advance. So it's okay now, right?"
Suddenly, my brain got sharp. Perfect logic, no counterarguments. We pre-agreed on a hundred meetings... so we're at a hundred now. Done? Now we just meet the hundred times slowly. Wait, why am I so clever? I'm impressed.
"Whoa! How'd you think of that? Genius~"
Maru cheered me on. Ehehe. As expected of Maru. The Maru I respect most. She gets me right away.
"Right? That was epic, huh?"
"Totally."
"So now I can say what I wanna? I've been holding back so much!"
Now I can blurt out whatever? Permission granted?
"No way!"
Ah... The person in question, Moteok, objected. Can't be helped. Back to status quo.
"Okay... I'll just imagine it. Then switch seats! Gotta protect Maru. I respect her so much. Can't let her authority drop."
"Pfft!"
Moteok covered her mouth and turned away.
"It's not that bad."
"It's relative. Anyone looks like a kid next to that massive Personality Pocket. How dare it... undermine Maru's female power!! I hate it, so I gotta block it! I like Maru the best. If I sit here and see the Pure Female Power gap between Maru and Moteok... I'll be too sad to sleep. I have to protect Maru. I really respect and like her."
"No, it's not that serious. Mine's okay too..."
Suddenly she puffs out her chest. Seeing that almost made me cry. No difference from before. So sad. I have to protect her. I moved next to Moteok to shield Maru. She sat in my spot and marveled.
"Ooh."
"Don't, seriously? Agh... For real."
Moteok overreacted. Maru found it hilarious and kept dropping "ooh" for 30 minutes. Moteok's reactions were consistent every time. I'd troll too. So predictable.
Eventually, the boob talk faded into girls' chat. It was dizzying. Too fast-paced to keep up. Especially "travel"—that topic was chaos. Maru and Moteok yapped about trips nonstop; I couldn't follow the tempo. Or understand. Only place I've been is Gyeongju on a school trip. Ah! Sejong training camp for public service... Does that count as travel? Anyway, that's it. I don't hate travel. Just not dying to go. Luckily, no invite to join. Would've freaked me out. Then we burned two hours on every topic imaginable. Feels like the convo's winding down.
"Wanna collab at Christmas? Oh, pre-question... Moteok, got a boyfriend?"
We met to bond, but work talk pops up.
"Me? Nope."
"No? Then let's do it?"
"How? Uh, no. Sounds good, but... gotta check schedule. Might do it with members. Nothing set yet... Probably will. Think so. Dunno. Anyway, impossible."
"Ah, tsundere. Another cold winter at home. Oh, with Sena here it's fine. Wanna collab just us two? What game? Or VRChat if no game?"
I was just listening when it hit me.
"I wanna collab at your place, Maru."
Christmas with friends, yummy food—sounds great! Always did it at home with family... Wanna try somewhere else for once! Excuse, but honestly curious. Big corp... What's Maru's place like? Gotta be huge and fancy. Better than ours. Big corp!!
"Huh?"
Maru looked flustered.
"Hiding a boyfriend?"
Moteok smirked.
"No... Just so random. Why my place?"
"Curious... Probably nicer than mine, right? Ehehe."
"Doubt it."
Maru gave a wry smile. So humble. That's why I respect her! Great personality too.
"Oh! Ah! Right, Sena. Sena."
Moteok suddenly got excited and called me.
"Yeah~?"
"You've been rude to me nonstop, so I'll be direct too. You a total gold digger? Been wondering."
"For real. I saw it myself."
"Really?"
"Sena, you got friends now—invite 'em over. Go on, Moteok~"
"Where?"
Maru smiled.
"Sena's family home."
"Huh? Why me?"
"Your turn to suffer."
"Suffer what?"
"You know."
Our house? Come on over! I love inviting people! No friends to invite before. Not friends—colleagues at home, parents would love it! Definitely! They did before!!
