Stripping a VTuber (1)
The second I came back to life, I went looking for Nemmo.
While I searched, I talked things over with the viewers and lined up contingency plans for if she refused.
Tearful appeals. Making someone the villain. Dropping to my knees. Switching the Seona Server over to the Nemmo Server. Straight-up threats. The works.
I really learned a lot.
With this arsenal, I could definitely talk her into it. Confidence locked and loaded.
“Where even is she… hmm…”
And getting the Police Commissioner on board was a very big deal for me.
Was it because I'd cleared every achievement? I was starting to get bored.
Should I say I want to play other games, or try different content? Or just that I want to rest a little?
“Is this it? This the police station, yong? Ah. I'm Nemmo, from Shape World yong. We've met before, right yong? I don't think we ever actually talked then, so thank you for the invite yong. The shapes of Shape World are going to be so happy.”
“Ohhh!!”
All that hunting paid off.
And that speech style? That RP? Is this for real?
I found Nemmo right by the police station.
“Hey. Nemmo! Nemmo!!”
“Hello, Seona-nim yong. Thanks so much for inviting me yong.”
“Whoa!! Your girl-power meter is off the charts.”
Something. Something I couldn't put into words. My girl-power radar just lit up.
I never used to pick up on this stuff… I could really feel how much I'd grown.
It felt like clearing a top-tier raid that used to take me forever of grinding and struggling—except now I one-shot it in ten seconds.
I was ridiculously proud of myself.
“Pardon?”
“Ah, no. Almost got rude there. Anyway. Nemmo. Effective today, you're the Police Commissioner.”
“Huh? Me yong?”
“Yes. Congratulations. Planning an inauguration ceremony? I'll mobilize the entire police force if you want.”
“…I, I just came to have fun yong.”
“Then just RP as a workaholic!! A workaholic is someone who enjoys working. Perfect!! Perfect.”
My own RP would flip to the opposite—someone who values work-life balance.
Ehehe. Expanding the RP even further? The server just got richer. This is great!!
Real server love is Seona. Seona.
“I'm more of a work-life balance person so… this is a little awkward yong.”
“Got it.”
I don't force anyone. If she says no, okay.
I was only offering a suggestion.
“Understood. So you'll be the work-life-balance Police Commissioner?!”
“Eeeh? Being Police Commissioner is too much pressure yong. Yong.”
“Sniff sniff. Our city's public safety… sniff sniff.”
Move one. Tearful appeal, engage. Cry. Just cry. Make it super sad. Yeah. Trigger the pity. Totally heartbreaking, right? Makes you want to help, doesn't it?
Hard to refuse, right? Yeah…!!
“Even so… I only just got here today yong.”
What!! That didn't land? She's tougher than I thought.
“Move two. Dropping to my knees. Uheuheuheung. Uheuheuheuheung. If you don't take Police Commissioner the server dies. The server dies. Uheungheuheung. Seona's finished. Seona Server is finished. Uheuheuheuheung. We're doomed. Oh no we're doomed. Set it on fire~ eheyadiya!! Uheuheuheung.”
Move two: kneel while sobbing pitifully.
An even stronger pity-trigger operation. If this fails too, then the whole pity approach is—
“Ugh. Ah. Okay yong. I'll do it yong. Ha. I'll do it yong.”
“Ohh?! For real? Did my tears work? Really?”
“Aaah… yes. I'll do it yong.”
“Then. Looking forward to working with you. If you need anything, just call for the admin.”
“Ah. Thank you yong.”
“I'll show you around. Just follow me. I used to be the commissioner myself, you know.”
“Ah… right. You did. That's so cool yong.”
I guided Nemmo along as I talked.
“I've already finished every achievement, so starting tomorrow I'm probably going to play other games. I've done so much I'm bored of it. You can just do the commissioner thing casually and then hand the seat off to someone else and you're free.”
“Yeh?”
Nemmo's voice cracked off-key, and my gut instinct started twitching.
Why? Did I do something wrong? The second I looked at chat, the “why? again why?” just came out on its own.
Who says the server owner has to be the one running it forever? Me, I've already.
President or Emperor, locked in. Conglomerate CEO. Hospital Director. Police Commissioner. Boss of a prestigious gang.
I've done it all. I finished everything so I can rest a little. What's the problem?!
They're force-hating again? Have I grown so much that this is the only thing left for them to force-hate on? Great. Seo. Na. Sniff!! I've come so far.
“Nemmo. Nemmo.”
“Yes? What is it yong?”
“Do you think it's wrong for Seona to play other games?”
“Hmm… not really? Doing the same thing every day gets boring, yooong.”
“Wow!! Same as me. I think so too. Thanks to you I just got my confidence back.”
“Wha… what kind of confidence yoooong?”
Even a fellow streamer thinks like this, so I refuse to sit still while the viewers force-hate.
“Right. Once I watch your Police Commissioner inauguration, I'm going to go play other games for a day. I want to show everyone that Seona Server runs just fine even without me.”
“I… me yong?”
“You're the Police Commissioner.”
“You're even more ridiculous than I heard yong.”
Ridiculous? Who's been spreading malicious and false rumors about me?
“Who? Who started that rumor? I'll hunt them down.”
“Uh… Tteok Unnie yong.”
“Tteok Unnie? You mean Tteok-nim?”
“Yes. Tteok Un… Marem-motteok-nim said so yong. That you're really ridiculous… yong.”
What!! That was a compliment. There's no way Motteok would trash-talk me. This has to be a compliment in a good way. Definitely. One hundred percent!!
“Ahh~ what. If Tteok-nim said it~ she obviously meant it as praise, right?”
Seona guided Nemmo through the police station for the inauguration.
Nemmo had wanted to refuse, but she was crushed under a madness she had never seen before. She had come over from Shape World with the RP of a stranger in a so-called “life server.”
She was about to suffer a major disaster.
Nemmo classified Seona as a madwoman with clear eyes.
She had heard the rumors in passing. Motteok and Raming had told her plenty of stories.
But this had long since blown past anything she had imagined.
Nemmo froze under the overwhelming madness.
“I'm a free person. Are you free too, Nemmo?”
“Not as free as you are, Seona-nim… yong.”
“Oh? Really? No wait, you are free. Which faction are you? I'm American-style free now.”
“Uh… uh American-style? That was a thing yong?”
“Yes!! American-style. These days when people think America, they think freedom. But America is actually a really conservative country. You already know, right? It's a nation that believes in God, so in a lot of areas it's extremely, extremely conservative. Same with me. I'm free, but I care a ton about manners. Manners. Man. Super important. I think of it as human dignity.”
Seona chattered on, fired up.
Listing knowledge was always fun. One of her happy moments.
“I value manners, but I'm free… basically I copied the freedom of a country like America. What country's style are you, Nemmo?”
“M… me yong? I'll go with Paris? I want Paris yong.”
“France!! Oh. Full free faction, got it. I'll remember that.”
“You don't need to remember yong.”
“Wow!! That's real French-style. Totally free. Completely free.”
Seona was sincerely impressed.
“Thank you yong.”
“Yongyong. Yongyong. Yongyong. That speech style is straight-up legendary yong. Yongyong.”
Seona latched hard onto one of Nemmo's RP tics—the way she stuck “yong” on the ends of sentences.
“I'll add yong too yong. But I can't just copy, so I'll do yoyong instead. Is that okay? Requesting permission from the original creator.”
“You may yong.”
“Ohh!! I may yoyong!! Ehehe.”
“When is Raming-ssi coming yong?”
“Raming yoyong? Yoyong? Ehehe. That's so funny. Should I call her yoyong? Yoyong? I've leveled up, right? Every time I talk I go yoyongyoyong. Like this. And you counter with yongyong. Yongyong.”
Seona charged in like a hunting dog off its leash.
But for Seona this was an act of respect for Nemmo—genuine feeling born from respecting someone who actually kept their RP.
After nothing but fake RP, seeing the real thing had massively stimulated her curiosity.
Seona had way too many questions she wanted to ask.
“Ah. Nemmo. Do you keep the Shape World RP?”
“RP? It's a real world that exists yong. I'm protecting the peace of our world on Earth yong.”
“Whoa!! Insane. It was real?!! That Shape World? I want to go too!! Can I go if I have a passport?”
“Sadly you can't go with a passport yong.”
“That's a shame. Real shame. Then what do I need to make?”
“It's not easy yong.”
Nemmo murmured it under her breath with a sigh, but in Seona's stream it came through loud and clear.
“Ah!! Not easy? Ha… that's a shame. No friend connection? My friend Raming is from Shape World too. She was born and raised in Shape World, but she's been in Korea so long she forgot Shape World. From Shape World's perspective, isn't she a traitor? My friend Raming, traitor. What do you think?”
“That can happen. She naturalized yong.”
“Naturalized!! Wow. Shape World people naturalize too. But what's the language of Shape World? Can you actually teach me the language? Annyeong!! Annyeong!! How do you say this?”
“I can't tell you that yong. It would be bad if other people found out.”
“Like the National Intelligence Service, huh. Ah!! I get it. You're Shape World's NIS, right?”
“Uh… something like that yong.”
“Then have you met Korea's NIS? Then who's Shape World's diplomat? This is seriously insane!!”
Seona's mouth was fully unleashed. She fired off questions without a single break, completely captivated by the real RP.
Seona kept digging, and digging, into the RP.
“Then. Wow. Real. Shape World. So cool. Wow. Then over there. Wow. Real. Insane.”
Seona was simply, truly curious about Shape World. She wanted to know that world.
“I, I've changed my mind. I'm going to keep playing GTA. I've fallen completely for your world, Nemmo. I want to know so much more. The truth of Shape World. I'm a reporter. I'll be a reporter. I'll film the whole documentary. Let's take the number-one Netflix documentary worldwide yoyong. Yoyong!!”
