I'll Do the Stream Instead of Gaming!
I'll do the stream instead of gaming!! (1) If I don't grow here, I'll wipe out all the floating viewers for the crime of being boring. So I have to grow. There are countless ways to grow. Let me list the methods I know. The first is finding a fixed game. Famous streamers don't have fixed games for no reason. I wasn't worried when I did a Minecraft collab either. Just play Minecraft, right? What should I do in Minecraft today? Something will come up if I just wing it. It was so convenient. Plus, viewers who like that gather around, and I heard somewhere that focusing on one thing helps the YouTube algorithm too. But this is hard to decide on lightly. There's no game that really clicks with me right now. The AOS genre is impossible because I'm naturally terrible at it… I got flamed during a team game. It was such a huge shock that I still remember it. I heard curses I'd never even heard from my parents. I really cried. Just a little trickle. My mom and dad don't use those words, but I got cursed out like crazy. Those awful people cursed me out for being bad at the game and even said they'd kill my mom and dad!! I've never touched an AOS game since. I'm bad at FPS too, but at least it was solo queue so I just sprayed bullets everywhere. But every match was like 1 kill 14 deaths, 2 kills 20 deaths… so I spent more time respawning than actually shooting. I suddenly thought, why am I even doing this? That feeling slowly crept up on me until I eventually quit FPS too. I liked RPGs. But… there was one problem with RPGs: the extreme grinding. Everything was "go fetch 100 materials" or "go talk to a friend way over there." After I talked to them, it was "go collect another 100 materials." Leveling up was ridiculously slow. One level-up basically required ten hours of grinding… I'm not someone with that kind of patience. Naturally, I quit. So mobile games were perfect. Just tap. Tap… spend money… and I got stronger!! Whoa!! Tap for even stronger monsters… tap… spend money. Whoa!! Got even stronger. Stronger monsters… tap tap. Yes! Top 1%!! If I tap more I'll get stronger, right? Ehehe. How nice is that? A game made for me. Perfectly suited. So I barely played computer games and only played mobile games. The problem was there wasn't much content I could make with mobile games on stream. At best it was account tours, gacha pulls… and account advice. It might be fun if done well… yeah, if done well… but I can't. No confidence. Plus the pressure of not leaking viewers' accounts, and what if my pulls are bad? Advice? Who am I even giving advice to right now…!!
"Huh? Me?" I got so lost in thought I forgot what I was doing. I was streaming…!! "Ah, right!! I'll interact with chat. First, let me read the café posts."
I slowly read through the café. The café had improved a lot compared to before. There were tons of humor posts now. The sources were always those "bad sites," but people still shared them. Every time I saw them it was "bad site, gasp, emergency!!" At first I thought it was serious, but apparently that's just how it is. And our ancient angel viewers were 74% from Maru's stream, 20% from the community, and 6% other. I wonder if that's changed now? That was kind of curious too.
"Are there still a lot of bad site users? Are there many in my stream?"
- Emergency!!
- This is an emergency ;;
- Time to milk her lol
- Using her as fuel already, burp~
- lololol
- Is it me?
"No, I was just curious. My stream's viewer base has probably changed a lot too… Back then a lot of people came from Maru's stream. What about now? Should I do the origin poll again?"
Making a Naver form was nothing now. It used to take me three hours, but this time was different.
"Title: Where are you from? One… from Maru's stream. Two… from Moddeok's stream. Three… from Raming. Four… from Maem. Five… from sites. There, done!! Any opinions?"
I spotted a shocking chat message.
"YouTube? Wait, we have YouTube inflows? Really? We actually have people coming from YouTube? Why?" I wanted to ask instead. Why? Why would you come to the live stream after watching YouTube? I couldn't understand it. That was… because I don't manage chat. I'm a consistent person. I don't touch YouTube comments either, except when people badmouth other streamers. The fastest way is just to look at the comments. There were probably some today too. I went into my latest video. Those weird comments that had been there for a while.
"Don't watch the 1/13 VOD just because it looks fun. You'll be shocked. Big brother is telling you. I saved you time. And you still came after seeing this? Why? If you watch the next video… Don't watch the 12/7 VOD just because it looks fun. You'll be shocked. Big brother is telling you. I saved you time." There were more. Even after seeing these comments that appear everywhere, people still come?
- Manage your own chat
- lololol
- Facts)
"But that person's actually nice… really likable." When you go to the VOD, that person has time-stamped all the funny parts. "Watch this part. 06:31 Cavalry Santa strategy. 06:33 Diversion tactic… Watch this. They're protecting people who didn't come because they trusted big brother? I really want to make this person a manager. Please leave a post on the café." This person is talented. They'd be helpful to Pyeong too. I'm a very hands-off streamer… I don't give Pyeong editing points or anything. Only if she wants to. Just do whatever you want. Views? Whatever. Revenue? Use it however you want. Video confirmation? That too, whatever… One time Pyeong asked me, "Want to check the video?" I confidently said, "Sometimes." Now Pyeong doesn't say anything to me about YouTube either. She even told me to handle expenses myself.
"I don't give Pyeong editing points. I don't even send her videos. I didn't know, but apparently it's better if you send the footage? I just told her to buy a computer. It'd be nice to have someone like that, right? Someone who can pick good editing points. Manage YouTube chat too."
That chat hit me out of nowhere. That person was too much. It could happen, right? "Uh. Uh. A startup. Even if the scale is small, you can have lots of employees. Why. Why? What. What? Is. Is there a law against hiring employees? Huh? You're a three-month subscriber and you're chatting like this? Uh. Now. Now. That's it, isn't it? Uh." That was too much. Especially that "lol" at the end. It really bothered me. What do they take me for…!! "I-I. I can do it. I have money. I can hire people."
- Good job poking her
- Poke?
- Who threatened to poke her
- She's scary
"No, no~ I'm nice. I'm nice. Seon-a is nice. Just nice. Not scary at all. That's right. Good…!! Good!! So good!!" How did we even get here? Augh… I always end up going off on tangents when I talk. Always think positive!! No matter the situation, keep a positive mindset and only think about the good things!! Yeah, I've grown a lot. In the past I wouldn't have even thought about this and just forgotten. I've grown, so I can judge things like this now!! Yeah. Compliment myself today too!! I got praised today too. Ehehehe!! "Anyway… let's finish making this form and talk!! First, games Seon-a should play again. Second… when is it the most fun? Third… how old are you? How are the questions?"
- Don't you normally do 10~20 ranges?
- You want me to write it? My age?
- International age or Korean age?
- This is annoying already…
"Hmm… then I'll delete the third question and redo it. Teens, twenties, thirties… forties… fifties. Is this better? No. Just write your age. If I do it this way there'll be predictable chats. Split twenties into early, mid… late. Early twenties and late twenties are different. Seon-a. Beep. Debunked." The first way was the easiest and simplest. I kept working on the form. Job… deleted. It'd be rude to the people watching on weekday afternoons. I was raised with manners too. Next, what games do you like? Why did you naturalize and watch Seon-a? I added those and finished.
"Phew… then now, this… done. Please fill it out whenever you have time!!" I completed the first piece of content. It felt good, but… there's still a lot of time left. Should I make a second piece of content? What should I make? Hmm… is there anything? I want to think of something today…!! Nothing's coming to mind!! But I have to think of something. Uuuuuugh. Uuuuugh. Uh? Ura? Eh? What!! Whoa!? I got it. "Um… um… yeah. I thought of something. Right away!! Game roulette!! You guys always ask me to spin the roulette!! I'll do a game roulette once." It's been a while since I spun the roulette. Maybe I'm a genius. Ehehe. Yeah. Even begging has to be creative now!! "How should I spin it? Is there a fun way?"
- Let's do pinball
- This is pinball
"Pinball? Should I do that? Got it." Tons of games came up. Making Shue's ramen… making dumplings… flash games like Crayon Shin-chan classroom, plus famous RPGs, AOS, FPS… But every time an AOS or FPS game came up, donation messages for "subtract it" exploded. From the viewers' perspective, it must've been a frustrating stream. "Now it's over. Spinning the pinball. Here goes!!" I ended the round and spun the pinball. "Huh? What?" The pinball result was very shocking. StarCraft was a game I'd never seen or played. I'd only heard of it.
- Ah f*ck
- Spin again
- Sh*t
- ;;
The chat exploded too. In a bad way, hehe. That's why it's actually good. I've grown. Even if the game is frustrating, as long as the stream is fun, isn't that what matters? Right? I'll prove it. I just have to show them!! I'll do the stream instead of gaming!! I'll prove it through streaming!!
