Deep Sea Dwellers Find Joy Just Seeing Each Other's Faces (3)
Finally, the game started.
My character was Nike, and Simhae Cheongsobu's was Tiaris.
Both of us were one-trick ponies, stubbornly sticking to a single champion. Of course, "one-trick" just meant we were bugs with a ton of games played.
My character was a vengeance-crazed demon hunter, shirtless with purple corruption aura pouring from his upper body. A true alpha male character.
On the other hand, Simhae Cheongsobu's was Tiaris—a tiny kid in a gothic lolita dress. The epitome of a netkama bastard.
Simhae Cheongsobu had a slight edge in skill.
She wasn't a total local like her nickname implied—she'd trolled her way down to the deep sea abyss. Plus, in this scene, it was common knowledge that netkama played better than normals.
"Hoo…."
Alright, first things first—regain my mental composure. This game was especially crucial.
I had to escape the 5-loss streak swamp starting now, and more importantly, test if my skills still held up in this changed body.
"Hurry up and send the minions already."
Before I fell behind.
Soon, minions started marching down to bot lane. I gripped the mouse, waited patiently, then began last-hitting.
-Tok. Tok.
"Ack!"
No way!
"I missed all three melee minions?!"
Unbelievable. In normal condition, I'd snag at least one out of three. Missing all three in a row? That was rare as hell.
Simhae Cheongsobu's character, who'd been spamming "uhe, uhehehe, uhehe!" laughs in front of the enemy tower, turned to look at me.
Fuck! This wasn't my fault.
"It's 'cause the body's not used to it yet!"
Realization hit. I needed to swap the mouse immediately. This one was way too flimsy to fully transmit my control.
Humiliating. Even in the deep sea, I had pride as an ADC. Missing three CS in a row? Shame of an ADC.
Stay calm. Just nail the cannon.
Cannons give triple gold over regulars. Nailing one would cover the losses.
-Kraaah!
Hit skill Q. Nike's bowstring pulled taut. Released the mouse.
-Pew!
The arrow flew.
But the mouse was bigger than my hand, so the aim veered off. Indifferently, the sky watched as my arrow missed the cannon and sailed weirdly away.
"U, uuwaaaah!"
My prideeee!
I'm not human. I'm an anime girl.
"Sniff."
As I scrambled to last-hit while getting chewed out like a criminal, the enemy bot duo dove us right at level 6.
Full-on close range.
They wanted a fight.
"No dodging this!"
Deep sea folks don't retreat.
I slammed an auto into their ADC. Luckily, my 10 years of combat sense remained—I could keep the skirmish going.
"Now!"
HP below half, I fired Nike's ult, the Shooting Chains. They hooked the enemy ADC and support.
"Die! Thrust! Thrust!"
Sound effects from my mouth, going for the killing blow—
-Kwaaaang!
A pitch-black orb crashed from the sky. Tiaris's Dark Strike.
Simhae Cheongsobu (Tiaris) has slain an enemy!
Double Kill!
Saved her ult for my finisher…?
Something black welled up in my heart.
Daring tool stealing the master's kill? Time for a hierarchy check.
I maneuvered the mouse and keyboard to bring my character close to hers.
-Hup, hup, hup, hup.
Thrust hips back and forth wildly.
This was Nike's motion 4. Technically, pull hips back then thrust chest forward. Spam it, and the chest thrust skips, leaving just frantic hip shaking.
Mashed Ctrl+4 nonstop. On screen, the muscled demon hunter Nike shook her hips violently back and forth.
Purple afterimages from the intense waist action. This was my ultimate, honed 10 years in the deep sea.
The Lanscape Copulation Press.
This mental-breaker had shattered countless Hyeji. My tool-training special. Weak-minded ones even ragequit or spew curses from shame.
But my ultimate did zilch to Simhae Cheongsobu.
Of course…
She's a netkama.
By now, I was numb to it.
But our team wasn't.
Naejeonggeulsunok has left the game.
I snapped to reality seeing mid and jungle bail.
Not anyone else…
Me…
"6 losses in a row!?"
*
The game was lost.
Now sprawled on the bed, shedding tears of defeat.
-Sob sob. 6-streak sucks, but water under the bridge. No point regretting now—gotta focus on what needs doing.
Hands are smaller, so swap the mouse first.
Decided. Tomorrow, new mouse. Too late today—time for food.
-Grrrowl.
Stomach growled right on cue.
Let's eat.
My fragile mentality couldn't handle cooking. So, straight to the convenience store.
I threw on clothes in a rush. But my old hoodie was the issue—way too big.
"Ha…."
Gotta buy clothes too.
Life…
Already broke-ass NEET.
Major spending ahead. Mouse, clothes. But hunger first. Grab food from the store, figure it out.
Clothes make me stand out a bit… whatever, it's right by the house.
Honestly, clothes were a non-issue. The blonde hair drew more eyes.
-Ding.
Stepped out and hit the store instantly. One minute walk tops.
"Welcome…?"
The clerk at the counter tilted his head seeing me.
Blonde stands out, huh.
Didn't care. Eyes on others meant nothing. Headed casually to the bento corner.
Where's the Hyeji bento…
Hated the name—like a tool. But it was the tastiest and biggest portion. No choice.
"Mm…."
Grabbed a bento, heading to counter—then froze. Beer section right there. Post-loss beer hits different.
…But not craving it today.
Dairy aisle called instead. Especially the sweet-looking Choco Mong.
"Heh."
Hormones? Suddenly sweets were irresistible.
-Gulp….
Couldn't resist—snagged a Choco Mong. Instincts can't be fought. Set the bento and drink on the counter.
"4,500 won."
Handed over the card. Clerk rang it up, then…
"Um…."
Returned the card and spoke.
"No beer today?"
"…?"
What.
"You always come around this time for four cans. Craving sweets instead today?"
Weird. True, I always bundled four beers here—cheaper that way. But what shocked me…
He remembers me?
Even in this new look.
