Why Should We Pick This Up?
It's an excellent choice for those seeking a dark fantasy and regression story with a much more realistic and gritty approach. The protagonist is a C-rank mercenary who, after barely surviving 13 years at the bottom of society, travels back in time to the very beginning of his journey. What's truly interesting about the novel is that, unlike other stories in the genre, the return to the past doesn't magically transform him into a genius or grant him superpowers. He still lacks natural talent and starts from scratch, so every small improvement and every victory costs him immense effort, blood, and sheer willpower. It's a very psychological and raw tale of overcoming adversity, where the true driving force of the story is the protagonist's persistence in the face of a world that constantly reminds him of his limitations.
