Why Should We Pick This Up?
It's one of the best novels based on the Fate universe (Nasuverse) out there, and it's clear from the first chapter that the author truly knows and respects the original lore. Unlike most Chinese fanfics of this style, it doesn't resort to the tiresome cliché of including a video game "system" or cheap tricks to break the power scale from the start. The premise is excellent: a six-year-old Shirou, before the Fuyuki tragedy, tries by all means to avoid becoming a hero in order to have a peaceful life. However, his own decisions create a brutal butterfly effect that ends up dragging him into the events of Fate/Zero and Fate/Grand Order, forcing him to mature and take up the mantle against his will. The first arc is an absolute masterpiece for how it reimagines the Fourth Holy Grail War. Furthermore, the secondary characters and Servants are incredibly well-developed, respecting their personalities while giving them a level of development that often improves upon their original tragic fates. It's complete with over 1400 chapters, ensuring a long, mature, and epic story that's completely captivating. It's definitely worth adding to your catalog.
